it's the epitome of PEDESTRIAN
lazy, boring and...very cold. for a song about love the entire thing feels entirely clinical. |

There's such a lack of new music I'll accept just about anything right now. This is kinda decent and isn't so generic like Burn etc.

Surprised at the generally muted reaction to this - really liking it on first listen. Great chorus. I'd imagine this'll be the type of sound she's going for with her third album - more commercial than 'Halcyon' while retaining her idiosyncrasies.

I don't mind commercial as long as it's not as shitty as Halcyon Days. |

I personally think this is brilliant, that's a mega chorus and the production is fantastic. The string outro is gorgeous too.

Sounds really good on first listen - the chorus is definitely the best bit!

Can't believe how pop she's gone! This is a world away from 'The Writer' or 'Guns and Horses'. Agreed that the chorus is the best bit.

Well I love all of it. Sounds perfect for what a soundtrack should be imho. Plus it's better than Beating Heart as well which sounded nothing more than average.

Coming from somone who at times can't bear Ellie's voice, I was pleasantly surprised on first listen. Shamelessly repetitive chorus aside, I think it's a great song for the 50SOG soundtrack. The lyrics are nowhere near as generic as 'Burn' with a few lyrical gems in there, her "what are you waiting for?" is the best I've heard her voice and to the person who says it sounds too clinical - I haven't actually read 50SOG and only know what it is vaguely about but I always thought it wasn't actually a "love story" it was more of a, I guess, "clinical sex story". Maybe I'm wrong though.

For a soundtrack single, I really like this! It's much better than the previous one. It does sound more like a poppier version of a 'Halcyon' track.
