Cozy Little Christmas is great. I’m guessing it’s low due to unfamiliarity.

Circle the Drain

Released: 10th August 2010
Peak UK chart position: No info
3 members voted for this song

"Circle the Drain" is a song by Katy Perry, from her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010). It was written by Perry, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Monte Neuble. Lyrically, "Circle the Drain" candidly focuses on a former lover's drug-addiction and the strains it put on both of them. Following its release, several media outlets reported it to have been inspired by her former relationship with Travie McCoy. Critics were divided on the track, with some finding Perry to be in a hypocritical position, given the album's other material. Other reviewers found it nice to see a different side to the singer.
Capitol Records released the track as a promotional single two weeks before the album's release on August 10. The song achieved modest charting, with its highest peak position being number 30 on the Canadian Hot 100. It charted similarly in New Zealand and managed to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 at number 58. "Circle the Drain" has been performed by Perry on her 2011 world tour, California Dreams Tour. On the tour, she was dressed in a catsuit and the stage was decorated in cartoonish meat. Concert reviewers gave her performances mixed reviews.

"Not Like the Movies" is a song by Katy Perry from her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010). She co-wrote the song with its producer Greg Wells. Capitol Records released it on August 3, 2010, as the album's first promotional single. The song is a power ballad from the point of view of a teenage girl. Lyrically, the girl contemplates her first time and how "it wasn't right". She realizes through that experience that her "prince" is still "out there" waiting for her. It was written when Perry first started dating her then-husband, Russell Brand.
Some music critics called "Not Like the Movies" a powerful and lovely song, as well a contemplative ballad, but noticed that the song's lyrics make only minimal reference to Perry's then-husband, Russell Brand. Commercially, the track peaked at number 53 on US Billboard Hot 100 chart and at number 41 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart. Perry performed the song on her California Dreams Tour (2011). She also did a performance of the song along with "Teenage Dream" at the 53rd Grammy Awards on February 13, 2011. The performance received positive reviews from music critics.

Was 'Save As Daft' even a single, wow that totally passed me by, rubbish choice anyway and an awful song that's one of many from a not very good album, At least 'Hey, Hey Hey' had a video, but again a terrible song from something that doesn't have many good choices, however this is what I would have chosen from the 'Witness' era as singles =

'Chained To The Rhythm'
'Roulette'
'Swish, Swish'
'Witness'

The song received generally positive reviews from music critics, many of whom labeled it as a potential single choice. Rise was awful and is a big reason why the Witness era didn't do as well as it could have, it sucked much needed hype.

Thinking of You is a song written and recorded by Katy Perry from her second studio album, One of the Boys (2008). It was produced by Butch Walker, and released on January 12, 2009 as the album's third single. "Thinking of You" deals with a break-up in which Perry does not want to move on but has no choice, and feels nostalgic of a previous lover while in a relationship with another man.
The song peaked at number 29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the album's only single to fail to reach the Top 20 in the United States, and peaked at number 27 in the United Kingdom. There are two music videos released for the song. The first was released in 2007 and featured Perry in two different rooms, black and white, and was directed by a friend of hers. The second was the commercial release in 2009 which was set in the 1940s and featured Perry playing a woman who lost her lover, a soldier (played by Matt Dallas), in battle during World War II. Perry began playing the song during gigs as early as 2006, and performed the song on all of her concert tours: the Hello Katy Tour, the California Dreams Tour, the Prismatic World Tour and Witness: The Tour.

Peak UK chart position: 25
13 members voted for this song

"Unconditionally" is a song by Katy Perry. It was released as the second single from her fourth studio album Prism (2013) on October 16, 2013. Inspiration for the song came primarily from a humanitarian trip to Madagascar that Perry made in partnership with UNICEF. Having been surrounded by what she described as unconditional love, she co-wrote it with the song's producers Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut to reflect that feeling.
"Unconditionally" is a power ballad styled in rock, backed against a bassline and percussion. Commercially, it peaked within the top ten in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Lebanon, and South Africa as well as the top twenty in Australia, Austria, Canada, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the United States.
The single release was promoted with an Instagram-based campaign, a lyric video directed by Aya Tanimura and live performances—one of the latter, at the American Music Awards of 2013, was the center of controversy due to accusations of cultural appropriation and racism. Brent Benacorso served as the director for the track's music video, which adopts the theme of love and uses a series of metaphors to enrich its concept.

'Rise' - We waited 2 years for a new Katy Perry single and what do we get, this limp turd that YES I do agree that it killed any hype for 'Witness' (which turned out to be almost as equally terrible), and by the time it came around the bad taste of this was still lingering. It just didn't cut it and since all the controversy with the awful Dr Luke, her career hasn't really recovered and everything that came after 'Prism' has been lacking and doesn't have that same spark that her first 3 albums (NOT including 'Katy Hudson') had. Something's definitely missing and got a feeling that she may not recover.

'If We Ever Meet Again' - Really liked this at the time, but has now aged terribly and don't enjoy it anymore.

'365' - I struggle to remember this, really hoped that this would have been a return to form after the terrible 'Witness', but sadly its just very average and feels as if its missing that special something that could have made it great. However this is still better than about 95% of her last album.

Part of Me" is a song by American singer Katy Perry, released as the lead single from Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. It was written by Perry, and Bonnie McKee, with production and additional writing by Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Cirkut. The song was not included on the original edition of Teenage Dream because Perry felt that it did not fit the composition of the album. A demo of the song leaked online in late 2010, amid speculation that the lyrics were directed to the singer's ex-boyfriend Travie McCoy. "Part of Me" was re-worked and officially released on February 13, 2012, through Capitol Records with artwork by art director Gavin Taylor and photography by Mary Ellen Matthews.

"Birthday" is a disco song recorded by American singer Katy Perry for her fourth studio album, Prism (2013). She co-wrote the song with Bonnie McKee and its producers Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Cirkut. Critics, as well as Perry herself, have compared the track to the music of Prince and Mariah Carey. Through double entendres in the lyrics of "Birthday", Perry makes sexual references while celebrating a partner's birthday. Capitol Records sent the track to mainstream and rhythmic radio on April 21, 2014 as the album's fourth single.
Following the release of Prism, "Birthday" entered the single charts of South Korea and France. After being released as an official single, it reached the top 30 in Australia, UK, and Netherlands, number 17 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and number 7 on the Canadian Hot 100. A music video for the track was released on April 24, 2014. Primarily recorded with hidden cameras, it features Perry disguised as five different characters in birthday parties and other celebrations. The makeup effects disguises for Perry were designed and created by Tony Gardner.

"Swish Swish" is a song by American singer Katy Perry featuring American rapper Nicki Minaj for Perry's fifth studio album, Witness (2017). It was written by Perry, Duke Dumont, Sarah Hudson, PJ "Promnite" Sledge, Minaj and Brittany Hazzard, while being produced by Dumont, with additional production by Sledge and Noah "Mailbox" Passovoy and vocal production by Passovoy. The song was initially released as a promotional single on May 19, 2017, and later as the album's third single. "Swish Swish" is a house-inspired EDM and hip hop song that samples "Star 69" by Fatboy Slim which in turn samples "I Get Deep" by Roland Clark.
A song about fighting against bullies, "Swish Swish" uses basketball metaphors to talk about overcoming hateful people and thriving. Multiple media outlets suspected that the song was a response to Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood", which was believed to be about Perry. Music critics were divided with "Swish Swish"; some praised the track's empowering environment, while others criticized its lyrics. However, Minaj's verses were applauded. Commercially, "Swish Swish" reached the top 10 in the Philippines and Scotland, the top 20 in Belgium (Wallonia), Canada, Hungary, and the United Kingdom, and the top 30 in Australia, France, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
