Cyprus seems to be leading the viewcount on YouTube - could Replay have actually really stormed the televote or is that Tamta’s name recognition?

I didn't know Serhat is turkish. So, despite his drunk voice, turkish diaspora across Europe could explain why the sugar daddy is still in the competition, especially considering Turkey is not in Eurovision 2019.

Didn't help him in 2016 when he didn't qualify, considering Turkey was also not in the competition that year |

QUOTE The jury of Belarus has revealed in an interview with Tut, which nations they voted for in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2019. The jury of Belarus has revealed in detail, how they voted during Semi-Final One. The Chair of the jury explained that the jury unanimous in their top three. Based on the jurors individual comments it can be worked out that the Czech Republic, Estonia and Georgia were among the top three. Mr Prigun told Tut that: We determined the three winners almost unanimously. In general, in the first six or seven places we had almost no disputes. They started in 8-10th places. Then we met for about ten minutes. Furthermore, additional jury members revealed which nations they liked during Semi-Final One: Angelina Mikulskaya – Stated she voted down Iceland, Australia topped her ranking Valeri Prigun – Estonia, Czech Republic, Georgia Olga Ryzhikova – Estonia, Georgia, Australia, Czech Republic Artyom Mikhalenko – Did not state his favourites, but commented on the performance of Georgia and San Marino Anastasia Tikhanovich – Georgia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Estonia, Greece and Australia The results of the jury voting are not meant to be revealed until after the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. This is to ensure that the way that the jury voted in the Semi-Final cannot be influenced before the Grand Final. It is not yet known if the EBU will have to take action against the Belarusian jury for revealing parts of how they voted during the First Semi-Final. OK but this is pretty shambolic? They dare risk our Soviet Queen's place in the competition! |

Didn't help him in 2016 when he didn't qualify, considering Turkey was also not in the competition that year Maybe there are more turkish in the countries that voted in the first semi this year than the countries that voted in his semi in 2016. Also, this first semi is much weaker than semi 2, so 'little' things like that could make a difference on Televote. EDIT: Regarding Portugal, those ugly dark green clothes that hurt my eyes and also the beard mask colour change could explain why Portugal didn't qualify. The Belorussian jury is always good value.Last year they ranked Fuego 15th out of 17 in the semi final and 1st out 26 in the final.

As much as I like the jury/tele-vote split the authenticity of the jury votes really needs to be scrutinised. Countries are allowed to get away with it year after year?!

When I heard that San Marino song last night I was absolutely floored. The image of that happy dance beat with a 50 year old daddy hitting not a right note is hilarious. Instant classic *.*.

Belarus is not exactly a country that votes in line with most of Europe. They placed Iceland in 4th place last year. Says it all...
Also, if they’re revealing their votes before they’re released, surely this is breaking EBU laws? This post has been edited by ScottyEm: May 15 2019, 05:20 PM |

I've heard the video version of the Belgian song a couple times since the semi-final. It confirms my suspicion that he was hampered by a nervous start to the performance on the night. It's quite a sweet song It wouldn't have been anywhere near winning the final, but it might have got a decent position.

I found the Belgian song very flat and nothing memorable but I felt sorry for him when he didnt make the final.

Finally listening to the DNQs and this confirms what I already expected, Portugal were robbed. </3
All of the non English songs in this semi should have made it - Poland is another one that would have ranked quite highly for me in the final, Hungary was also good and Georgia... I'm not going to say I loved it but it just about makes my top 10 of the songs in this semi (just ahead of Belgium which I liked the instrumental for but not so sure about the vocals, I might like the studio version more). I'd have had those 4 in over Belarus, Cyprus, Greece and Australia. I usually like Montenegro but what were they on this year... |

Belarus, Cyprus, Greece & Australia were better than all the others you preferred. Also Georgia was the worst of the first semi, tied with Montenegro for me |
