This is one of Madge's most successful era's with a wide selection of single-worthy material, so how would you handle the campaign?

Which songs would you have released as singles? When would have been the best time to release them? Go into as much or as little detail as you desire!

Make the Jump video better.

TBH, the era was handled pretty well.

I think they got it 100 percent right with what they did.

It really is a pretty perfect era. From the album cover artwork, to the tour, to the tracklist, to the actual music.... but not to the music videos.

Make the Jump video better.

I agree completely with this. 'Jump' is perhaps my favourite song from her but the video is so limp. I always imagine it on a dark New York street chasing demons and shadows.. instead we get that. That's the only little niggle I have with what we got!

I would have LOVED 'Forbidden Love' to be a single too, with a daring video, but sometimes special songs such as that are made even more special just being an incredible album track. I wouldn't have changed the order of the singles, but I would have liked this to be added on after 'Jump' because it's a huge favourite of mine.

Yeah, they got it right except I would have released 'Jump' as the third single (and also given it a better video).

The video for 'Jump' is at least better than 'Get Together', no? tongue.gif

This is pretty much what I had in mind when I created this thread. The four singles are all great, but suggests the album is just about solid club bangers, when it is in fact so much more than that. Even though I have bigger favourites on the album, I think 'Forbidden Love' would have been best choice to show the depth the album has, in both lyrics and sound (this track has always felt a little bit "dark" in its production to me). I'd definitely replace 'Get Together' for it, but I'm not sure if it'd work better as third or fourth single, either before or after 'Jump'. Both should have had good videos - one video recorded just before the tour started and one straight after it finished.

If they wanted to keep up the fit-for-the-clubs sound, 'How High' has that good split of interesting lyrics and a strong dance sound.

This 'Get Together' shade :') Even if you're not the biggest fan of it, it's hard to argue that it doesn't work as a single (and the 3rd single at that). It's absolutely huge and wide-appealing. In terms of a successful era, the four singles she chose were spot on and in the correct order imo! Even if i much prefer 'Jump' and 'Forbidden Love', 'Get Together' seems like the obvious 3rd single choice.

Oh it definitely works, yes, I just feel the album has much more to offer and 'Get Together' would be the obvious choice to replace to me. 'Forbidden Love' shows a different side to the album whilst still having that commercial sound. The album is more than "club bangers" so only choosing those sort of singles doesn't reflect the album as well as it could.

I remember at the time I was massively disappointed she went with 'Get Together' third, I was really banking on 'Jump' being it.

Although 'Get Together' being a single helped it grow on me.

I think I read they were planning on 'Jump' being third single but went for 'Get Together' on the basis of it being third most downloaded from the album, following 'Hung Up' and 'Sorry' of course, although I'd say that was due to it being the first new track on the album which usually end up most popular initially.

Get Together is the best song on the album, and one of the best of her career imo. I think overall far more people liked GT over Jump, so I'm glad it was the 3rd single. Jump is just very generic and adds nothing to her catalogue. GT is adventurous, a totally different sound for her.
