David Bowie remains at number one
A month after his death, David Bowie's occupation of the chart isn't loosening much. While for the first time in five weeks he doesn't have half the top 10, he has still 15 tracks in the top 40 and 22 tracks in the top 100. Ashes To Ashes remains at number one for a fourth week. Its video features many artists from the new wave genre, including Steve Strange, who died exactly a year ago of a heart attack aged 55. He was the lead singer of Visage, who charted last year with Fade To Grey. Hymn For The Weekend moves up a place to #2. The track is set to make big waves in the official chart in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, following the death of vocalist Maurice White a week ago, three Earth, Wind & Fire tracks are in the top 10. Boogie Wonderland climbs 11 places to #3, Let's Groove jumps 16 places to #6 and September vaults 26 places to #8. Zara Larsson slides two places to #4 with Lush Life. It spends its tenth week in the top 10. Meanwhile, Secret Love Song remains static at #5 in its thirteenth week in the top 10. It subsequently matches the top 10 total for Black Magic, and is only three weeks off of the top 10 total of Love Me Like You. The rest of the top 10 is entirely Bowie: Absolute Beginners slides three places to #7, Lazarus moves down 2 places to #9 and Heroes falls four places to #10. Other notable tracks Lukas Graham enter the chart at #26 with 7 Years. The track is currently #1 in the UK. Can it make it there in this chart? Following the release of All I Need, If You Leave Me Now rebounds 8 places to #22, Body Talk rockets 62 paces to #33, Cruel enters at #51 and Better Love re-enters at #86. When We Were Young is at #57 and looks set to climb in the following weeks. Alessia Cara enters at #74 with Here and the final new entry is from ZAYN with PILLOWTALK at #93. Two songs climb into the top 40: One Call Away, which climbs 13 places to #31, and Cheap Thrills, which jumps 34 places to #39. |

Hi Taylor look at all those Bowie tracks still slaying *.* 22 of them, in fact! Liking Hymn, Lush Life and glad that Sia song is doing well. Have you heard the Sean Paul version?? Yes I have actually. It's not really a necessary remix, but it's still perfectly good. Hi Taylor, Wow Top10 > Bowie at no 1,7,9,10, EW&F no 3,6,8 Coldplay ft Beyoncé? at 2 Great chart With those 3 Earth, Wind & Fire tracks, probably a Viola Beach song, and still loads of Bowie, could half of next week's top 40 be posthumous? |
