Thought I'd start a new thread for the single as part of the "new rules" or whatever. As if we didn't know already...

Officially confirmed by her/her team today and taken from her facebook page:

HOW WE DO - My new single! It drops 12 August! Ritabots get ready!! Xx

Very generic, but it's so, so good. Really pleased it's the second single. Should give her another easy hit! She's going to be huge, what with her appearance as a guest judge on X Factor (so a likely XF performance of the 3rd single) and her album coming out soon!

Yeah, it is fine (reading the rules again).

Anyway, I did kind of expect this to be the next single in the UK, if not a new track because she's a busy girl and etc.

There is nothing special about this girl at all, and if 'Domino' is a second rate 'Last Friday Night' then this is very much third rate.

She is a stunner though, I must admit.

Brings generic to a whole other level, it's like a direct copy of 'Last Friday Night' - lyrically and it has the chant and everything! She has so much potential to do better than this imo. Nice enough song but it really really isn't anything special.

Your hatred of Rita Ora really confuses me. She is exactly the sort of person you usually eat up (or she seems it to me.) R.I.P in particular seems the sort of thing you'd usually jizz over.

ANYWAY, I'm not yet a fan of this song but R.I.P was very good so this will probably grow on me.

Probably one of the worst pop releases of the year thus far. There really is something 'scraping the bottom of the barrel' about her.

As a pop artist she is utterly vacuous and offensively generic.

This is just too generic. I loved the sound of "R.I.P" but this is completely different. Not a big fan, but it's catchy and it'll sure get huge amounts of airplay.

Why would it be? laugh.gif I've never particularly favoured the "dubstep" sound and it's irritating as hell.

If she actually releases something that impresses me one day then fair enough, but everything so far is just nothingy and it's all just a load of overhype for no particular reason IMO.

Obviously, I do like it due to the whole 'sounds just like Last Friday Night' thing, and it is a very good song. But, I do know what people are saying about 'scraping the bottom of the barrel' - her songs do all just sounds like demos, or leftovers that were intended for other people's albums.

She's a strange artist really, her songs don't really have a very 'sounds like a big 2012 hit' about them, but this will follow in the footsteps of R.I.P, I'm sure. She's one of those artists that I like, but don't love, her songs don't quite reach that 'love' level.

This is a jam. Sounds like a mix of Katy Perry and Kesha but I still love it.

I am agreeing with this at the moment actually. I love her personality and her voice has a beautiful tone but her songs so far have all good but so far there are no WOW factor songs. With the right songs she has the potential to be one of the best artist's out there at the moment as her image, voice and attitude is brilliant.

Still adore this song, it just grows and grows as well! It is totally generic, I won't argue that, but despite sounding like a rehash of Domino, Last Friday Night etc. I actually prefer it to those (and I LOVE Domino)! Should be a huge #1 here, and a long running hit in the US/Australia etc.

"This". Hopefully this woman is a flash in the pan because I can't be dealing with having her around. This song is utter trash.

I don't hate RIP or this song but I don't really like them either. Both are very bland and "there". RIP in particular has alot of beats in the chorus yet her vocals sound very flat and dull.

Her voice is completely generic, though. There's nothing quirky or unique about her tone at all. It's just so ordinary. If this was played on the radio I doubt anyone would have a clue it'd be her.

I can't explain it. Great image (although looks too much like Rihanna), decent ordinary voice and very generic songs.

WHAT?! This is a Buzzjack-friendly song... why the hatred for it?! Still think it's going to be huge, personally. But certain posters that aren't liking this is surprising me. laugh.gif It'll grow on them, I'm sure.
