agreed, this and The Scotts are two of the best rap beats I've heard all year. nice to hear M.I.A. again although she doesn't have the best verse, not surprised the fans aren't too keen on it. Could've done without Young Thug really, never been fond of him, but he doesn't ruin it.

I can definitely see why this has had a bit of a muted reception / hasn't done amazingly well chart-wise but I am liking this a lot more than I was expecting to based on what I'd read about it, it's kind of all over the place and lacking a strong hook but it has a great instrumental and I think all 3 artists do their thing pretty well on it. Particularly liking the last part where Travis and M.I.A. are going back and forth.

The power of his 6 credit cards gah

(Seriously though... the physical sales bundle rule change should definitely have taken place by now, were his physical sales being shipped within the week or what? Hard to imagine how it would have got to #1 otherwise!)

I guess I am happy to see this at #1 but it's going to have an even worse chart run than 'THE SCOTTS' laugh.gif

M.I.A. has to be one of the most unlikely people ever to have got US top 10 hits in 3 different decades. Especially as she has never charted higher than #19 in the UK.

(I was a little confused by this tweet for a second as I forgot / didn't know that 'Give Me All Your Luvin'' got as high as #10 on the Hot 100 laugh.gif)

It's not "T-shirt bundles" (I may be wrong but I don't think those have ever been a factor in the Hot 100, only the albums chart), it's the physical sales from his website. The Billboard article says he sold 58k in CDs and cassettes. No mention of vinyl sales (which were also available on his website) so I'm guessing they were able to ship CDs and cassettes within the week (meaning they still count under the revised rules) but not the vinyls.

Apparently physical sales may also be weighted more heavily on the Hot 100 than downloads.

At the time it seemed like "HIGHEST IN THE ROOM" was setting a new benchmark for poorly performing #1 hits in the streaming era, now there have been at least half a dozen since then that make it look pretty good, it hasn't even been a year since then! laugh.gif

Quite! Here's hoping 'FRANCHISE' will at least hold a little better than *cough* the song currently setting that benchmark.

were that many people actually buying just a Travis Scott single CD or was it lumped in with other merch too?
I like the song but it’s another sad day for the US chart having yet another “non-#1”.

May have jinxed this as it's now being predicted to drop straight out of the top 40. And I oop

(no doubt not helped by the 21 Savage/Bryson Tiller album bombs, I don't recall if there were any major album bombs the week after 'TROLLZ' came out).

Not as bad a drop as predicted, yay. xx

(it was saved a bit by a remix featuring Future dropping but it was still being predicted to fall to ~#31 even after that)
