Let's Eat Grandma are back! Following their breakthrough album "I'm All Ears" in 2018, they released 'Hall Of Mirrors' yesterday, the lead single from their upcoming third album. Great track, especially the sax wub.gif

Loved the singles from the last album (even though I was a little late to checking them out), this sounds pretty similar, but that's not a bad thing, still love the hazy synths.

Wow, I don't think I have heard a song from them since 'Eat Shiitake Mushrooms' in Unknown Pleasures years ago but this song is excellent, really loving the production and I can see that chorus becoming quite addictive despite how understated it is. Noted as an act I need to pay more attention to. x

update: 'Hall Of Mirrors' ended up snatching Wolf Alice's ('The Last Man On Earth') weave for my favourite song of 2021. Up with melancholy bangers

Absolutely loving 'Happy New Year' as well, this could be shaping up to be a great album.

(I know they dropped the title track as a single as well between these two so I'll make sure to check that out as well some time before the album drops)

Listened to this yesterday and really enjoyed it, something I can tell I'll be listening to lots over the summer. Happy New Year has probably become my favourite song released so far this year and Levitation isn't that far behind.

I love it, they've taken the production on from their previous album (which had Faris Badwan of the Horrors and SOPHIE on production duties) and made it their own - there are some great bangers in the 1st half and the 2nd part is more reflective and calmer side of the album, which deals in part with the losses they've both experienced over the past few years (“In the Cemetery”).

There was a great review from Alexis Petridis in the Guardian on Thursday: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/apr/...-ribbons-review

Agreed with this! Two absolute stompers and Happy New Year is definitely my favourite release this year so far.

Can't stop playing the album! Happy New Year, Levitation, Hall of Mirrors, Insect Loop (that production *.*), Sunday, Two Ribbons... every song is just beautiful. Totally in love with the album wub.gif

I've found myself really coming back to this over the week. Their last album was good but this is still a huge step up for me, so consistent

They've covered Nick Drake's 'From The Morning' for an upcoming compilation.
