well it's a nice fit for them - tax-dodging mega-corporation who've killed-off real-life jobs for so many and partially replaced them with a few IT, shelf stackers and delivery men. Fits in nicely with Clarkson's "I don't give a t*ss about anyone else" attitude.
See he's already making comments about previous employers. I reckon once Chris Evans and his rumoured team (Jensen Button anyone?) get going, the trio will seem like yesterday's heroes before long. If you have a strong format (see Doctor Who) a re-invention of it can give it freshness and vitality. |

and popchartfreak, you'd be surprised how many people Amazon employ. I worked at their Dunfermline site at Christmas back in 2012 and there was HUNDREDS of staff there. It was insane just how many people were in that warehouse. Inbound and Outbound Logistics, stackers, pickers, packers and so on. Hundreds of people, hundreds of jobs. I reckon theres well over 1,000 people employed at Dunfermline in the run up to Christmas and that's just 1 site. |

I've worked in a few factories (goods-producing ones) for a few years, can't say it's a job I'd have ambitions for long-term, but the people there are salt-of-the-earth no-bullsh*t types and it's way better than being unemployed. |

Signed up for 36 episodes which have a total budget of £160 million, meaning £4.5m per episode! This will make it one of the most expensive TV show made in the UK.
Other details: QUOTE(Digital Spy) Meanwhile, episodes will be around an hour in length and will be released each week in the UK, US and Germany, with a proposed launch date of autumn 2016.
The show will include indoor studio features, along with the gang's usual global adventures and challenges. It will also be produced in the UK and the team will have "more time to yak about cars". However, The Stig and other elements will stay at the BBC, while they will also be looking for a site away from the Dunsfold Aerodrome. |
