First up GOODDELTA who sent SPIRITCHASER for this contest (predictable 1999-esque trancey dancey throaway (shaaaade). HELLO WHO ELSE?!). A 20 for Kindness pulls them into an early lead. Btw I kept the announcement order almost the same as the voting order, only with a few small changes and switches. So it's not been majorly manipulated with, unlike what I like to do with results of BJ contest.

It sounded a bit like the symphonic metal stuff (a little light for that, but it really reminded me of some of Nightwish's moments) I do love occasionally but I don't know that I could find a band of that genre that I like and is obscure enough to enter here. One of my initial favourites, a shame there's such a difference between 20 and 12 points, I'll have to find another song like it for the next UP.

Ah, it was zechh. I had suspected Ghosty, but zechh is a reasonable second suspicion. Now I'm stumped for Ghosty's.

Horatio actually confirmed Hollow Talk at first but changed it later (and Hollow Talk got sent by someone else in the end). We'll see if he made the right decision or not! I can kinda understand it, Oscillate would have appealed to most of the participants here in a big way, while from the moment I entered Castles I knew it'd have some haters. And it getting the most 20s aside, it was picking up mainly 4s and 5s while S O H N was getting 10s and 12s, so despite having the same number of voters it was appealing to a smaller section of the UP base overall.

I think our perspectives are different. I view the participants of UP as more diverse than they used to be. They are coming from more varied areas of Buzzjack than in earlier rounds of UP. I suppose I made the assumption that Oscillate would not connect with new wider audience.

The winner was okay. Second place was really not that brilliant. The Jezabels were 3rd which is absolutely wonderful, and of course me finishing 4th too! <3 I think that's in my top 5 results from UP and BJSC combined. Sorry if Arthur Russell was a bit cheap guys; I did consider it but it's kinda difficult to gauge how well known an artist from years ago is on here.

I finished much higher than I expected since I was prepared to come bottom 5. Thx to everybody who gave me points, especially Brett-Butler, Eyes and Ghosty.

Pleased with the winner, SOHN was pretty much on the cut-off in my votes of songs I'll keep so I'm pleased the winner was a song I liked. A shame my 20 pointer didn't do too well, honest thought Birkii was easily one of the best poppy song ever entered into this. Pleased to see Kindness high but not so high that I'm not really gutted I didn't get them.

By the way I'm classing this as a top 20 finish, ties aren't traditionally split by number of voters, this isn't BJSC.
