I want to know

My answer has a very high percentage of here.

Educational youtubers are very welcome here, as are gaming Youtubers.

I mean I watch so many that I can sometimes go a whole browsing session watching entirely new YouTubers that I then forget a week later, but these are some ones I regularly come back to that consistently upload quality content:

- Cynical Reviews
- ContraPoints
- Lindsey Ellis
- Jenny Nicholson
- I Hate Everything
- Todd in the Shadows
- Caddicarus
- YMS
- Jay Exci
- Ryan George/Pitch Meetings (part of Screen Rant itself, but I never watch anything else from them)
- Julie Nolke (Explaining the pandemic to my past self one)

Basically love a good film rant (even those that are hours long, as long as they don't end up whining about leftist agenda and SJWs, then they can get stuffed), and British Youtubers I have to say, if just cos they cover a lot of what I know and have the best angry voices kink.gif

The Critical Drinker was okay, before he started shouting about woke and left agendas, and his arrogance started shining through. I like Pitch Meetings.

He was exactly who I was referring to lmao, like I get it new Hollywood/Disney is a bit rubbish, but it's just a gateway into the alt-right rabbit hole.

and that's why I don't watch film youtube! tongue.gif

I kid, I watch Contra, and Lindsay and Jenny on occasion, they're good, kinda fell off IHE after going through most of his content about 3 years ago, same with Todd.

for the edge of subcultures I'm in - Dogen is a great start for Japanese language learning, I more religiously watch Cure Dolly for actual learning purposes but Dogen does the relatable humour really well.

I don't know too much about gaming humour but DougDoug's videos on Skyrim I came across recently and they're frequently inventive and awesome. Normally when I'm in gaming youtube it's to support an anime girl or learn a game from watching.

Poofesure, for some of his Wii videos (and rages).

He plays/played Wii Party and various Wii Sports sports.

Edit: And I guess a bit of Smallant1/SmallAnt to check his weird (or insane) Pokemon/Mario Odyssey/Breath Of The Wild challenges.

In terms of the main stuff I watch on YouTube, it's basically your basic LeftTube starter pack (Contrapoints, PhilosophyTube, Lindsay Ellis, Hbomberguy, Big Joel, Innuendo Studios, Jack Saint, Kat Blaque) and the various outlets of the Trixie & Katya cinematic universe.

I regularly watch nearly all of those LeftTube ones! Though my main one is Vaush because he fits lots of my identity boxes - white, weeb, gamer xx

I'm subscribed to too many Youtube channels relative to the amount of free time I have for the subscription bar to actually be useful, so I mostly browse stuff from my recs atm and it ends up being very messy, filling up with things that on paper I'm not super into but I keep clicking on and feeding the algorithm anyway. Such as Nigella cooking videos and Harry Potters film clips.

When I'm in the habit of watching gaming-related videos, it's very often in French because France seems to be the source of disproportionate quantity of Youtube and especially Twitch content. Like I don't think Britain - or many other countries for that matter - has a culture of gaming houses/streaming collectives??

I’ve recently stumbled upon ‘Rowan J Coleman’ who does lots of fantastic sci fi videos and is doing a really detailed Star Trek retrospective right now, delving into every movie and series which is really interesting watching.

My sub box is getting progressively more Italian 😅

I'm really enjoying Jordan Theresa's social commentary videos at the moment - I suppose her more overtly political uploads would count as LeftTube. But she talks about a range of subjects like mental health and trends springing up on the internet too.

I'll need to check out others mentioned in this thread!

looks like Smosh will be re-joining the list of Youtubers I'm currently watching now as it's just been announced Anthony Padilla has re-joined after having left in 2017!! Anthony & Ian have bought the brand back from its previous owners too.
