Pete's Chart Commentary
We finally get a new #1 from NEEDTOBREATHE, blocking Ball Park Music from breaking the record weeks at #1. NEEDTOBREATHE do manage the accolate of 'first Christian song to get to #1 since 2017' though, that being Make Room by Casting Crowns. A bit more shuffling around in the Top 5 as well as a random Walking on Cars album track that really grew on me is now up into there and likely to be challenging for #1 next week. Five new entries in the Top 40 this week, three of which are by Australian artists as Ball Park Music release their album and Amy Shark puts a new single out there as well. The others come from HRVY's cheese-fest, and Rea Garvey who is back on form after a few bad singles.

Sadly I don't think Hypnotized will make it into the Top 10! It's a tune but the songs around it are better at the moment Thanks Sven!


I've never really been a Gabrielle fan but she's sounding quite good doing the rounds with various Irish bands Both this and Lost in the Thick of It are tunes! Thanks James


Lots of new songs - that's why the oldies are falling at a faster rate! If Kodaline get to #1 it'd be because there aren't any great songs around oops, it doesn't jump out at me as a #1! Thanks Mango

I did manage to give the album a listen (although only because Google notified me of it, would probably have passed it by otherwise ) Spark Up is one of the big highlights, agree with that. Will need to listen to that cover as well! Thanks Dexton

Yeah Icona Pop were pretty much off my radar as well but they've had a couple of collabs with artists I like recently which has seen them re-emerge. Thanks Dan

Nice to see Rea Garvey debut again in your chart!
I also like the gains for "Impossible" and "Hallucinate", but I do need to listen to the other debuts below your top 40.

SPA entering at 43 and flopping as well. We need to have a serious word 😂
