Predicted by who? Kworb's final estimate was 541k which was pretty spot on and people in here were predicting in the 400-450k range from what I saw so 544k is absolutely fantastic! wub.gif

I think HDD predicted something like 475k, which was quite bizarre. I was thinking it will definitely clear 500k. Still huge sales from her though. Anaconda's sales are quite low, despite breaking record numbers on VEVO. Someone on another forum mentioned when Miley had her record week, she managed to sell 477k in download sales. Perhaps the most surprising is that Break Free has dropped out of Top 10 in sales. That single campaign is turning out to be quite a mess now.

That's because of iTunes complete my album.

The effect can sometimes happen in the week before release. No idea why, it just does.

From Billboard:

QUOTE
Over on the Digital Songs chart, Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" blasts in at No. 1, selling 544,000 downloads in its first week — the biggest sales week of 2014 and the fourth-largest debut week ever.

The only starts that were larger were logged by Flo Rida's "Right Round" (636,000 in 2009), Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" (623,000 in 2012) and Katy Perry's "Roar" (557,000 in 2013).

Taylor has debuted at #1 on the Hot 100! First song to do so since 'Harlem Shake' I think? (Something about 'Shake' seems to be a theme hurr)

And 'Anaconda' is at #2 *_*

Wooooo! Go Anaconda!!

Hopefully this will give it an even bigger boost on radio! Has Nicki ever scored a solo #1?

Also, that's about where I predicted Taylor, perhaps imagined just over 500k. Good for her. She should sell over 250k with that performance on her 2nd week.

Nicki hasn't ever hit #1 on the Hot 100, solo or not - looking at acharts.us she's actually been really unlucky with #1s all around the world. 'Give Me All Your Luvin'' got to #1 in Canada and Finland, and she was apparently credited on 'Girl On Fire' when it got to #1 in Austria (though bearing in mind acharts.us seems to credit Nicki on that song in every country including the UK) but that's it. Four more of her songs (including 'Anaconda') have peaked at #2 somewhere.

Delighted that Anaconda is turning out to be such a big hit for Nicki, it's really imfectious. I really want it to get UK support because a big UK hit for her would be so ideal wub.gif

'Anaconda' will most certainly be huge in the UK, without a shadow of a doubt.

Only if the single is handled properly, which I can see not happening.

I can't believe "Anaconda" is at #2! ohmy.gif This should be her biggest hit yet then! I want her to get a #1 so badly on Billboard to shut Mariah 'elusive bitch' Carey up.

A little sad that All About that Bass will never get to #1 now. Even though I don't like that song, it has clearly been the most popular song in the country for the past three weeks or so.

I can't believe the love for Anaconda on this forum!! Nicki does her thing fine, I admit, but the song's production and marketing campaign (i.e., controversial ass shaking) is totally derivative and completely lazy. But I guess if you weren't around when Baby Got Back was a phenomenon then it's new to you. I certainly hope Mix a Lot is making a mint from the royalties because he is 90% responsible for this song's success.

Well deserved #1 for Taylor. I love when songs debut at #1 and it's pretty rare these days.

Anyone else surprised that Usher's new campaign is either slow out the gates or completely flopping?
