God has been the subject of many chart hits but never for a #1... until now perhaps? Drake's new single 'God's Plan' has a strong chance of reaching the top this or next week so let's look at the songs that failed to make it all the way. Top 40 hits only.

My votes go to Drake, Calvin Harris (fave ), Eminem, Kate Bush, Mark Ronson, Kaiser Chiefs, Faithless and Queen!

My fave Screech song would probably be Family Portrait. I liked that one at the time.

I recall God himself featuring on Kanye West's album track 'I Am a God', don't think it went top 100 though, poor guy can't catch a break.

Nope. I only know about it because my wife mentioned it... and decided to move to the UK shortly afterwards. I'm not saying that song was the reason but I'm not not saying it either.

Mariah's Thank God I Found You is gorgeous and so underrated (albeit not in the US where it was a No.1!). In my top 100 of all-time.

I'd have to say Kate Bush "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)", an epic song. Or Johnny Cash "God's Gonna Cut You Down". Eminem's "Rap God" is a bit of a guilty pleasure too.
