Today Ariana has two reasons to celebrate! Not only is it the 2nd year anniversary of 'Sweetener' but she has also surpassed Rihanna as the most streamed female of ALL-TIME on Spotify with over 20.5 billion streams to her name *.* congrats Ari

Good excuse to stream her music some more today x

She really has become such a juggernaut over the past few years. I think the men above her are Drake, Ed Sheeran and Post Malone!

Excited to see how her next era will perform.

An amazing achievement!

I do love Rihanna but Ariana is the first female artist who comes to mind for me when I think of streaming success amongst females especially as she holds the honour of the first UK #1 single to include streaming sales. Her career has practically all happened in the streaming era.

Spotify itself doesn't count features when reporting artist data. This is actually in Ari's interests because the overwhelming majority of her streams are as lead. That's why Ariana was declared the female artist of the decade on Spotify despite Rihanna having more streams if features were to be included.

Me too actually! I've been making a 'song of the day 2022' playlist, adding in a song that was relevant to each day, and day #15 was 'Love Me Harder' after it jumped out at me during an Ariana marathon a couple of weeks ago - so have streamed it a handful of times when shuffling that our impact!

- 'Santa Tell Me' and 'Rain On Me' both reached 1 billion streams this makes Ari the woman with the most songs that have surpassed 1B streams, with 13 now.

- 'Santa, Can't You Hear Me?' reached 100 million streams

- 'Winter Things' now has over 100 million streams

- 'imagine' passed 400 million streams just in time for its 5 year anniversary

- 'Die For You' remix has now achieved 700 million streams

- 'pov' has surpassed 500 million streams

It's a fun look back at all of her songs that passed 1B streams! Her humour manages to shine in the short run-time and bless her getting emotional at one point.

The biggest takeaway is that a different video for 'Santa Tell Me' was originally filmed! She said she was in "weird Christmas lingerie" in it and "hitting Santa with the cane pole" but her label said they couldn't use it so the actual video was a last minute low budget job, now shown every year
