Where's the Heat 3 Topic?! Clips out.

Robin Bengtsson: Sounds like something I can get into - but what's with all the swearing this year?!
Krista Siegfrids: *.* 100X better compared to her efforts last year.
Anton Hagman: zzzz. Chorus isn't that bad I guess. Not really a fan.
Jasmine Kara: Her voice on the track sounds amazing, this actually sounds like it could be really good, builds up well. Probably not going anywhere now, is it?
Owe Thornqvist: Is he saying 'Pokeman?' HA. OMG POKEMON GO. YASS. Still 100x than some songs we got last week.
Bella & Filippa: Brilliant. This heat is so great tho, I'm scared they're going to get lost in the heat.
FO&O: This is actually the first song I've heard from them. Sounds quite... noisy? They'll easily go DTF with this tho.

This heat is excellent, probably the best heat this year?

EASILY the best heat after quite an underwhelming first two, I like 6 songs out of 7! Robin feels like his song could developed into a Melodifestivalen winning song and Bella & Filippa sounds fantastic and unique and could also be a contender if Swedes get behind this sort of thing.

FO&O sound identical to One Direction, it'll go to the final due to app votes but isn't a winner.

I'd guess DTF: Robin and FO&O (should be Bella & Filippa)
AC: Bella & Filippa and Anton
5th: Krista
6th: Jasmine
7th: Owe

Maybe? Definitely the best heat so far!

Gravity and Crucified sound so good <333

Robin's sounds nowhere near as good as last year, maybe he won't go DTF after all, andra chansen perhaps.

Lol at Owe! That could be dangerous...if the app voters get it through the first stage. It has a tacky charm to it, and it does sound like he's singing 'Pokemon go, Pokemon blow'

Anton's sounds fairly good, like a lesser Anton Ewald track.

Krista's song also sounds very good!

FO&O is typical boyband, but it sounds anthemic and is easily strong enough to go DTF. I mean they were going to go DTF anyway so...

I'm not sure what to predict for this heat beyond FO&O winning...god knows!

jasmine - just a mash up of everything that is or was popular. flush
owe - :')
bella & filippa - quite boring but i can see them possibly ACing this
fo&o - nothing modern interesting or fresh about this whatsoever. sadly this will be going further to the final. ugh


and the heat started so well but krista was a peak it seems

Christ almighty that boy band at the end could quite possibly be the worst thing to grace MelFest. It looks and sounds AWFUL.

Krista sounds interesting. Robin Bengtson, the jury is out. Overall a very iffy heat.

Everything's pretty much all on the same (good) level save for Owe as the token 'old people' act which makes me think there's going to be some kind of 'surprise' result here (and heat three's usually where there's some kind of 'surprise' in the voting, the infamous 2013 cockfest, Ace Wilder making the surprise smash in 2014, Isa qualifying direct in 2015, Lisa Ajax actually winning the heat and SaRaha surprising everybody in 2016) makes me think we're in for a bit of a twist here. Not got a clue what that's gonna be but that's what makes it all the more exciting.

The FO&O have a good song but it doesn't sound anywhere near as competitive as I thought it would be. Sounds like something that's going to appeal to their fans & target demographic but not something that's going to capture the imagination of the whole populace like Frans did. I half expected them to have something like Anton Hagman's song which strikes me as having the potential to do exactly that. I'd be tempted to put both of them as going direct but Robin Bengtsson also sounds like that's the best song (maybe even the heat winner, who knows) so I'm waiting for more clues before I predict anything here.

OMG at Owe *.*

Crucified and Krista sound genuinely good. Not particularly excited about Robin or Anton, they sound quite boring. As does Gravity to be honest but it might be entertaining.

What's most surprising for me is that I'm actually liking the sound of The FO&O song Like it doesn't sound like a song that's going to storm the competition but it's close enough to the sort of pop-rock that I can like that I think I'm on board. Thought I was going to hate it.

F&OO's song actually doesn't soundthat bad Nothing amazing and still towards the lower end of the heat for me though, I agree this is probably the best despite initially on names alone seeming like by far the weakest.

Surprisingly poor showing from FO&O, don't these genrep polls tend to consist of more kids than you'd expect? Pretty sure I read that somewhere but could be wrong. If so, that would indeed be a surprise.

Shame for Bella & Filippa though, with FO&O's poor showing they could've grabbed that 2nd DTF slot but not if it isn't connecting with the audience.

I mean the genrep is a small sample and the acts that perform twice due to technical difficulties usually get a boost on it but I definitley think that's a clue that Jasmine can get an AC slot over, well, probably Bella & Filippa.

Krista is unfortunately DOOMED. Jasmine has a great song, can definitely see that going to AC. Owe isn't my usual sort of thing but it's FAB, could well go to AC and do a Hasse. Bella & Filippa have really underwhelmed me, it's all a bit Abalone Dots.

I am definitely here for Jasmine Ace-ing this! This is defnitely the hardest heat to predict so far though, I'm not *that* taken by F&OO or Robin, the former is ok for what it is I suppose. Anton is very good though, it's quite Shawn Mendes and is already in my head!

This heat is incredible.

1 - Bella & Filippa - This is the Amanda Jenssen heat 4 song 7 entry of my dreams. When the backing vocals came in on the second chorus they took my breath away. When they then took over the show in the final chorus, it gave me the same feeling I had when I first heard the choir come in on Kati Wolf's seminal What About My Dreams? - but somehow even better. This is so good I could cry.

2 - Robin Bengtsson - That production is sublime.

3 - Anton Hagman - So the original brief here was really obviously to just rewrite Stitches but for the first time in the history of Melodifestivalen "recycle a recent hit" entries it actually improves on the source material. There's so much more going on in this than in Stitches - that countermelody in the chorus is absolutely infectious.

4 - Krista - Love the secret weapon in the middle eight of a XYLOPHONE SOLO. This is doomed and everyone knows it's doomed but it's just a great pop song and at the end of the day THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS

5 - FO&O - This sounds really oddly like a host entry? It completely nails the rousing anthemic thing that the likes of Tell The World I'm Here all stretched so hard for but failed miserably in reaching. I won't begrudge this a place in the final too much.

6 - Owe - Absurdly good fun.

7 - Jasmine Kara - Possibly the biggest mess of a song entered into Melodifestivalen for years, to the extent I'm actually impressed - it's like somebody put the Mary J Blige demo of Titanium on and then let Jackson Pollock take over production with every 2016 sound preset going at his disposal. That postchorus drop is LAUGHABLE! I kind of imagine Ellen Benediktson looking at this and realising just how much worse Insomnia could have ACTUALLY GONE.

As a society we owe it to ourselves to destroy anything related to Mendes so... Anton is clearly not a good name for Swedish musicians. Robin still sounds dull. FO&O, please clean up the inevitable "hot man on the stage" votes, I'm counting on you.

However I think I rather love Gravity now (if only in studio form) and Crucified is rather pretty.

the most important thing though is to crown Owe as the new Hasse/king and be done with it.

Oh that's a crying waste and shame for Bella and Filipa, if it had got to AC I think it could have gained some momentum, hopefully it still does well for them on Spotify and becomes a radio hit in Sweden.

I'm not going to lie though, I'm not disappointed at Owe going DTF, I'm glad the app vote hasn't completely killed off a charming performance by a veteran.

I'd like to see FO&O make the final from AC, and I'm sure they will.

Owe is a complete guilty pleasure I've gotta admit (and the skandal of FO&O having to go to AC is an added bonus) but it's the classic MF conundrum of the Swedes going for something that's very "them" in the heats but then turning towards the more internationalised songs in the final so the question of whether or not he won the heat is a bit of a moot point, especially in the app voting era.

I was seriously impressed with I Can't Go On all the way to the little Fleur East moment at the start. I'm team Ace all the way but I would still be very happy with that winning, and it fits the tradition of Sweden always having an act with a huge cumbersome prop that inevitably goes wrong at some point (Eric's glass box, Loreen's platform & snow, Sanna's light pyramid, Mans's projections and even Frans had that extra lighting rig in the background).

I'm not a huge fan of I Can't Go On, if Constellation Prize couldn't win surely this won't even come close? I know it's arguably a weaker field this year but still, I see about 5th for it) I think Ace vs. Loreen vs. Mariette sounds about right, although one of those will probably end up "flopping" and be like 6th in favour of a surprise contender (maybe Owe lmao, or something from AC that catches on like You did, although 2013 a really really weak year in hindsight, this isn't THAT bad) vaulting to the top 3. I think Mariette would be better than Ace in Kyiv success wise, but we'll wait and see if Loreen brings it.

Keep going back to Krista's song at the moment but I'm not at all surprised at her coming 7th. The songs in general are very strong, while none of them are LOVE moments like Wild Child and I Don't Give A for me right now. Really wish I could see Robin's performance after all I'm reading though.
