Ariana's positions in the OCC YTD top 40 singles of the year so far:
5 7 RINGS ARIANA GRANDE 1 18 BREAK UP WITH YOUR GIRLFRIEND I'M BORED ARIANA GRANDE 1 19 THANK U NEXT ARIANA GRANDE 1 I hope '7 rings' can hang on in the top 10 until the end of the year! She scraped in the top 10 with 'no tears...' last year, so would be great to feature again. (also as mentioned in the 'Dangerous Woman' thread, that album is now platinum and 'Side To Side' is 2x platinum!) |

Yes at Side To Side, it really exceeded my expectactions, I remember hearing it on the album and thinking WOW that is a smash hit (shame Bloodline couldn't experience the same...), but I was really expecting, low top 10 placement and maybe a Gold cert. I was so HAPPILY wrong. |

Wow 'Dangerous Woman' it's crazy to think that it only peaked at #17 and 'Into You' was only a few places higher. That era was at least rewarded kindly in terms of sales *.*
I was surprised the other day to see 'Dangerous Woman' as one of her songs in the iTunes top 1500, when checking for where 'in my head' was, while other bigger hits such as 'Side To Side' and 'Problem' for instance were absent. Slay those trickle sales! Some exciting certification milestones on the horizon. <3 |

^ I wish she'd managed some better peaks in that era! Into You deserved more than to stall at #14 for three weeks Both that and Dangerous Woman stuck around for a long time though (those pre-ACR days *.* ) so at least they built up strong sales.
In a moment I'll have a look at the Top 13 charts that prevented Into You from charting higher, and the Top 16 charts ahead of Dangerous Woman, and see if any of those songs have actually sold less than Ariana! Into You spent three weeks at #14 (in its 9th, 11th and 12th weeks in the chart). The songs below were all in the Top 13 during these three weeks.
- = a week that the song was either not in the chart, or was lower than Into You Drake/Wizkid/Kyla - One Dance [#1, #1, #5] Calum Scott - Dancing on My Own [#10, #4, #3] Calvin Harris/Rihanna - This Is What You Came For [#4, #7, #8] Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop the Feeling [#6, #11, #11] Sia - Cheap Thrills [#9, #12, #13] Chainsmokers/Daya - Don't Let Me Down [#7, #3, #4] Drake/Rihanna - Too Good [#3, #6, #10] Jonas Blue/JP Cooper - Perfect Strangers [-, #2, #2] Kungs vs Cookin on 3 Burners - This Girl [#2, #5, #7] Major Lazer/Justin Bieber/MØ - Cold Water [-, -, #1] Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better [-, #9, #6] Adele - Send My Love (To Your New Lover) [#5, #13, -] Clean Bandit/Louisa Johnson - Tears [#8, #8, #12] Galantis - No Money [#13, -, -] Gnash/Olivia O'Brien - I Hate U I Love U [#11, -, -] Kent Jones - Don't Mind [#12, #10, #9] Into You has potentially outsold the following: Adele, Clean Bandit, Galantis, Gnash & Kent Jones. I'm not sure if any of those are likely to be millionaires at this point. Adele's song has sold 960,000 and that peaked at #5! Dangerous Woman spent two weeks at #17 (in its 1st & 9th weeks in the chart). Drake/Wizkid/Kyla - One Dance [-, #1] Justin Bieber - Love Yourself [#11, -] Justin Bieber - Sorry [#15, -] Calvin Harris/Rihanna - This Is What You Came For [-, #2] Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling [-, #3] Lukas Graham - 7 Years [#2, #15] Mike Posner - I Took a Pill in Ibiza [#1, #5] Shawn Mendes - Stitches [#8, -] Sia - Cheap Thrills [#16, #4] Alan Walker - Faded [-, #13] Coldplay - Hymn for the Weekend [#9, -] DNCE - Cake by the Ocean [-, #7] Fifth Harmony/Ty Dolla $ign - Work from Home [#4, #8] Jonas Blue/Dakota - Fast Car [#6, -] Major Lazer/Nyla - Light It Up [#7, -] Rihanna/Drake - Work [#5, -] Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out [#14, -] Zara Larsson - Lush Life [#3, #9] Desiigner - Panda [-, #12] DJ Snake/Bipolar Sunshine - Middle [-, #10] G-Eazy/Bebe Rexha - Me Myself & I [#13, -] Galantis - No Money [-, #6] Little Mix/Sean Paul - Hair [-, #11] Tinie Tempah/Zara Larsson - Girls Like [#10, #14] Zayn - Pillowtalk [#12, -] Blonde/Craig David - Nothing Like This [-, #16] At the very least Dangerous Woman deserved to outpeak Blonde! The songs that are 1xPlatinum here all went Platinum a lot sooner than Dangerous Woman did, so I assume they all have higher totals. I think Dangerous Woman might be very close to overtaking Little Mix - Hair though! QUOTE 25 HAIR LITTLE MIX 11 2015

Does anyone know or know where I could find the streaming / paid for sales %’s for her album sales
I’m intrigued to see how her paid for sales are and how much streaming’s helped. I asked a similar question in Duas forum too. Singles wise is Problem still her most “bought” single by paid for sales despite it being far from her biggest with sales / streams or is that Bang Bang? |

Thanks for that Liam *.* the 13 - 15 area is very bunched up so 'Santa Tell Me' should fly ahead of the two above it with ease this festive season.
Wow look at 'thank u, next' go, so close to her top 5. It's been surreal to see 'Into You' as part of that very top tier but 'thank u, next' did feel genuinely massive! |

I'd love OCC to do something on her biggest selling non-singles. Wouldn't be suprised if some tracks were close to Silver.
Got a feeling 'Greedy', 'sweetener' and the majority of 'thank u, next' would be in the list. |

Boyfriend having a third of the sales of Girlfriend seems so disproportionate. Obviously going Platinum is a success, but a #1 not reaching 1m chart sales is a bit of an underperformance these days. It felt like there was hype for about a month and then completely disappeared.

thank u, next (song) must be very close to double platinum; it had sold 1,193,829 as of 1st November!

Ooh 'thank u, next' only turned one last weekend so that's some speedy success, looking forward to seeing that milestone materialising
Also yeah Liam, it's a shame that 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' didn't see much sustained success. 'thank u, next' and '7 rings' felt absolutely massive, but 'break up...' easily appeared to be the least relevant #1 after a short while. Which is understandable for a third single and seems silly to say about a #1 hit, but it really did seem to run out of steam quite quickly. I think the timing of its release was just perfect, while she was on top of the world. But it didn't call for much longevity after the initial excitement. |
