Like with the JT single but in a different way, I do feel this is another great example of EXACTLY what we need right now. 2018 is going to be the year that music reignited I think.

That is great. So instant and it feels very Troye, with progression. He's really special.

Not massive on the verses yet but liking the chorus. Why is this reminding me of Sledgehammer by Fifth Harmony?

I quite like this and I'll be really happy if this is what gives Troye his first UK hit (not including There For You) but it is inferior to most of Blue Neighbourhood still sad.gif I know it's hard to top the likes of Wild or Youth, but this is kind of just more of the same from Troye. I've love another Happy Little Pill (a personal favourite, even if it's not his actual best) laugh.gif

I think my criticism of the song is that (from what I infer on my first few listens), it doesn't have the subtext or multiple meanings that songs off BN had (LOST BOY, Heaven, TALK ME DOWN etc). It's nice lyrically, but they don't have the beautiful explorations of identity that flew through the last album. I hope wherever this album goes, it does bring some of that back into it but until then I cannot get enough of this. So exciting and fast paced and energetic. Give me this over the MOR of the charts and even the Urban stuff that is everywhere right now. It's REFRESHING.

it's a celebration song, not all songs have to be about finding his identity

My My My! is a song of liberation, freedom and love. Throw all inhibition to the wind, be present in your body, love wholeheartedly, move the way you’ve always wanted to, and dance the way you feel- hopefully to this song!

Ahh I know, I didn't say they do. I was just comparing it to his earlier material which is natural when an artist you adore releases a new song? At least for me too.

Your description does add new light onto it though wub.gif

I am a Troye fan but I find this a bit repetitive. Maybe it’ll grow on me.

I loved 'Happy Little Pill' and the 'Blue Neighbourhood' album so I had high expectations for this... it has not disappointed! It's very instant as a lot of you have touched upon. The production on his songs always slays me so much. Looking forward to more *.*

(the low-pitched "oh my my my" parts instantly reminded me of the similarly low-pitched "my, my, my, my" part of Ed Sheeran's 'Give Me Love', my favourite Ed song!)

((buzzcut? teeth? in the same line?! how very Lorde of him lyrically kink.gif))

i mean it's well put together... but i just feel like it has been SO done already (and with a lot more charm) on the likes of st. lucia's 'elevate' etc. it's not bad by any means but it's not much different than a lot of stuff we've had.

i really cannot go this thing of monotonous soft-spoken singing / rapping etc. as a sonic trend, it comes across more lazy than endearing to me and i think it actually strips the song of the necessary power / variation it would need to stay afloat.
