After a few weeks hanging around in the top 5, Clean Bandit are hoping to dethrone Ed Sheeran of the #1 spot with the help of Zara Larsson on 'Symphony', its most likely in the bag for Clean Bandit & Zara, but anything could happen been a low sales week something big could drop. New single releases this week come from Shawn Mendes 'There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back', Lana Del Rey feat. The Weeknd 'Lust For Life', Paramore 'Hard Times', Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber 'Despacito' and a possible re-entry from Steps 'Scared of the Dark', also new peaks for the Disciples 'On My Mind', Lady Gaga 'The Cure' and Jason Derulo feat. Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign 'Swalla'. In the album chart will Steps be able to dethrone Ed Sheeran with their brand new studio album 'Tears on the Dancefloor' or will they have to settle for #2. Other brand new album releases from Imelda May 'Life Love Flesh Blood', Texas 'Jump On Board', While She Sleeps 'You Are We', Incubus '8', Wilkinson 'Hypnotic', Brad Paisley 'Love and War', Maximo Park 'Risk and Exist and Sheryl Crow 'Be Myself' Breakdown of the week - Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted. - Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm. - Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one. - Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed. - Thursday: See Tuesday. Other notes (please read) - You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod). - Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue. - Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. - To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads. |

Would love to see Steps get no.1 in the albums. How likely is it exactly?

Would love to see Steps get no.1 in the albums. How likely is it exactly? Not very likely I'd say. Ed will have a 15k+ streaming advantage from the outset, based on last weeks sales. They may be no 1 in the first set of midweeks but will probably drop behind during the week. |

Divide sold 62k last week and 84k the week before. Presumably meaning he'll sell about 50k this week which I think will still be way ahead of what Steps will sell.

My absolute ideal scenario is both Clean Bandit/Zara and Steps taking the singles and albums pole position respectively.

Steps could get the number one. 50k isn't too difficult for all the hype.
Their strength will probably be physicals. They're #1 on iTunes though which is a good sign! This post has been edited by cqmerqn: Apr 22 2017, 10:39 AM |

Gaga has reduced The Cure to 59p which should extra-boost any surge this week.

Ed will make it eight weeks at the top on the initial run for 'Divide' to equal the initial run of 'Multiply' but likely that Gorillaz will take the top spot the week after.

I highly doubt Steps will get to #1 unless they're on like 25k already

ohh Minty just posted, looks like Steps could be #1??
Neil ClaxtonVerified account @mintroyale Steps are going to have a nice number 1 album this week. Imagine how ridiculous that would have sounded 6 months ago. |

he also confirms CB at #1 in singles
Neil ClaxtonVerified account @mintroyale Also, Clean Bandit could well finally knock Sheeran off the top and get to number 1. Hurrah! The new Dua Lipa single might not even get top 40 this week. The label will probably panic and move the album back to October. |
