Denmark have released the eight tracks taking part in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix this year
The Cosmic Twins – Silver Bullet
Nanna Olivia – Hvileløse hjerter
Jean Michel – Beautiful
Fyr & Flemme – Øve os på hinanden
Chief 1 & Thomas Buttenschøn – Højt over skyerne
Claudia Campagnol – Abracadabra
Mike Tramp – Everything Is Alright
Emma Nicoline – Står Lige Her
This is the one co-written by Lise Cabble, who co-wrote "Only Teardrops", "New Tomorrow" and "Love is Forever", which I'm already rather enjoying!
I'd be very happy with "Silver Bullet", "Højt over skyerne" or "Everything Is Alright"!
Not the world's most exciting selection but Silver Bullet probably has the biggest hit potential, although it does have obvious shades of Only Teardrops and Spirit In The Sky in the melody.
I also quite liked Abracadabra, but it doesn't sound at all competitive.
The rest didn't hit on the first listen but a couple sounded like growers.
Silver Bullet definitely has the same synth loop as Monsters and Spirit In The Sky and there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!
Silver Bullet is not bad! I think the vocals could be hit or miss live though since they both have that shakey style voice.
Silver Bullet = MGMT Kids
There are def similarities but its a good thing as i loved kids and this is very catchy too.
It's the best of the lot.
Hopefully its what goes through.
Cosmic Twins bombed it on the performance (plus, yaknow, Denmark!)
This 80s pastiche got the nod in the end but I actually don't mind it for a Danish song.
I don't hate it, but that's got to be a surefire DNQ?
lord, this is not it at all.
That's verging on completely embarrassing, oh dear
okay this could be the best song they sent in a WHILE. it's super dated and everything but so catchy :')
That is so cringe and it screams DNQ.
Oh. My. God!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually like the (studio version of) the Danish entry....
So the two songs everyone hate, Denmark and Germany are
My top 2 by an absolute mile
lmao
well they look like they're having fun at least!
(I really like this )
preferred The Cosmic Twins though!
While none of their songs were particularly strong I can't believe they chose THAT very Our Choice
They've confirmed that they'll be keeping the song in Danish making it the first completely Danish language song since 1997
I low-key like this a lot! It's SO cute. DATED AF though and is surely out during the semi's?
I'm gonna enjoy this for what it is though.
Initially I thought it was awful but it's really grown in me now, its dated but fun.
I absolutely love this
I've listened to this song a couple more times now and it's now pretty comfortably my favourite song that DNQed this year and up there with my favourites of the year overall. It does sound like it was plucked straight out of an 80s time capsule - in a 'this could literally be a song released in the 80s' way, not just 80s inspired like The Weeknd et al. - so I can get why it might come across as dated but there's something really addictive about it anyway. Sad that it didn't make the final especially considering it did well with the televote and was just sunk by juries (9 points from the juries?!) I hope it doesn't discourage Denmark from sending songs in their own language again.
Oops at how overwhelmingly negative the reception was here when the song came out tho (it does seem to have been one that built up more goodwill by the time the contest started though, similarly to Portugal)
Its my fave song from the contest this year i just find it so uplifting which was a huge u turn for me, its a shame it did lose out on qualifying as it wasnt far off but it was the juries that screwed it over,
I also liked silver bullet in their pre selection and it prob would have qualified for denmark but its another song i listen to alot.
