Her fifth album is set to be released next year, while new music is expected to be released soon.

From The Yorkshire Post:
QUOTE
New music is also "on its way", she says, explaining she has "almost finished" her next album, which will be out next year.

What's Your Pleasure is a very hard act to follow, I can't imagine she'll deviate too radically after establishing such a niche with the sound she had on it.

Oh, this sounded fantastic. I hear a bit of a piano house breakdown and some funky brass in there- looking forward to hearing it in HQ!

Unless there's a surprise release, "Free Yourself" won't be out today. However, she shared a snippet of the song on TikTok.

"Free Yourself" is set to be released on July 19 at 6pm. BST (most likely as the Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 that day). Co-written with Stuart Price and Clarence Coffee Jr.

Is this a surprise? I don't remember radio 1 acknowledging her for a good while now.

I'll eat my hat if they actually playlist her, I'm still miffed they ignored her last time when she'd made her most R1-friendly music and her profile was higher than ever.

No, they haven't supported her since 2018 which is quite frankly baffling.

Also, does this not belong in the Pop forum?

Honestly, I haven't really heard much/enough of her music to judge, but she does get posted on r/indieheads, played a lot by BBC 6Music etc so there must be something there - it is alternative as well as indie here! But yeah I ought to listen to some and come back...

I think to be fair, she was fairly alternative when she started out and for a lot of her subsequent material. Her threads have just been here ever since.

It does look like she's moving on towards actual pop these days though.

she's always been 0% indie 0% alternative and 100% pop
since day 1, especially in the Ed Sheehan-sponsored days :/
