According to an Australian site this is the next single and she's been spotted filming the video in New Zealand. Personally this is the most overrated track on the album for me, it's great but far from her best like everyone seems to think! Should be another brilliant video though for sure.

*6th Single

Posted by: mr_pmt 23rd November 2015, 07:37 PM

This song is a masterpiece, I'm so elated about this.

Posted by: JosephStyles 23rd November 2015, 07:41 PM

A great song and an obvious single but I do find it very overrated, it's nowhere near the best on the album for me. Hopefully will give her another top 40 hit anyway!

Posted by: Simon. 23rd November 2015, 07:49 PM

Finally.

Posted by: HausofKubrick 23rd November 2015, 07:51 PM

Yeah i've yet to warm to this as a song. I find it very good but it gets lost in the album for me because there are so many other highlights. I'm sure it being a single will shoot it up in my affections though, like 'Bad Blood' did (though that was 90% due to the remix).

Posted by: UltraChristmas 23rd November 2015, 07:52 PM

So so happy about this and can't wait for the video heart.gif

Posted by: Jack 23rd November 2015, 07:57 PM

It feels way too late for this now. Wildest Dreams seemed like the perfect closer to the era imo.

Posted by: 🌚🌚🌚 23rd November 2015, 07:57 PM

love this ngl. v much her 'walking on air' of Katy Perrys that I always wish was released but wasn't. GIMME

Posted by: Ja˙ 23rd November 2015, 08:05 PM

I'm hoping for a new single mix, so the song feels fresher.

Impromptu singles rank:

1. Blank Space
2. Wildest Dreams
3. Shake It Off
4. Bad Blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar)
5. Style
6. Out of the Woods

(2 & 3 could change around depending on my mood). Maybe OOTW will go back up in my affections during the single campaign.

1. Wildest Dreams
2. Shake It Off
3. Blank Space
4. Bad Blood
5. Out of the Woods

The music video has a potential to be AMAZING. Taylor, don't mess it up plz.

1. Shake It Off (despite being a grower for aaaages)
2. Blank Space
3. Style
4. Out of the Woods (could possibly overtake Style)
5. Wildest Dreams
6. Bad Blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar) (I never really got into this but it's good still)

Music vid rank:
1. Out of the Woods (if pulled off!)

1. Bad Blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar)
2. Blank Space
3. Shake It Off
4. Style
5. Wildest Dreams

All five are still pretty good videos though biggrin.gif

01 Shake It off
10/10
02 Wildest Dreams
03 Blank Space
9.5/10
04 Style
05 Bad Blood (the original, the single mix would be below OOTW)
9/10
06 Out Of The Woods

(yes, a 9/10 overrated... makes so much sense i know!)

I only know the singles from the last 2 albums but surely with the others she has enough now for a greatest hits? *cough*rihanna*cough*

Babe.

It's the best song on the album and I don't want any potential mixes that could end up ruining it.

Posted by: Chez Wombat 23rd November 2015, 08:23 PM

ABOUT BLOODY TIME (if anything, too late sad.gif), disagree with the general consensus here, this was a massive standout from the album, the chorus is everything. Feels like it should have a great video too so look forward to seeing it.

Posted by: Adam92 23rd November 2015, 08:35 PM

Yay! my favourite track off the album biggrin.gif

Posted by: Kuki Sanban 23rd November 2015, 08:35 PM

THANK GOD. This is the best song on the album! I hope she hasn't left it too late for this to be a massive smash!!

Posted by: dhwe 23rd November 2015, 08:43 PM

I think "New Romantics" would've been a better era closer but I'm happy about this too!

Posted by: HonkyBonkXMAS 23rd November 2015, 08:43 PM

I'm with Liam and Joseph in that I find it a little bit overrated. I definitely didn't get the huge praise when it first premiered but since listening to the album it grew on me a considerable amount however I still don't love it THAT much compared to some of the other singles/album tracks.
Basically echoing everyone in that it was an obvious single choice though and I'm looking forward to the video a lot!

Perfect choice if this turns out to be true! This and 'New Romantics' on the strongest tracks left for me, and 'Out of The Woods' definitely deserves single treatment.

My 1989 singles ranking would go as follows:

1. Shake It Off
2. Blank Space
3. Out Of The Woods
4. Style
5. Wildest Dreams
6. Bad Blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

The top 5 are all 10/10 moments! heart.gif

This is her best ever song for me wub.gif It's absolutely wonderful and deserves to be huge. But at this point in the campaign, I'd be happy with top 30/something similar to 'One Last Time' or something.

01. 'Out Of the Woods'
02. 'Blank Space'
---
03. 'Style'
04. 'Wildest Dreams'
05. 'Bad Blood' (Remix)
---
06. 'Shake It Off'

'New Romantics' would've been a preferred single choice over WD though. As for the rest, I get why they were released ('Bad Blood'/SIO).

Posted by: Regina 24th November 2015, 09:31 AM

This is easily her most overrated song ever drama.gif it's nothing special. Ryan Adams' version is much better IMO.

Posted by: *Callum 24th November 2015, 02:13 PM

New Romantics would've been a KILLER single but it's only a bonus track so i doubted that would ever get a release.

1989 Singles Rate
1 • Wildest Dreams
2 • Style
3 • Blank Space
4 • Shake It Off
5 • Out of the Woods
6 • Bad Blood

all at least 8/10 moments though.

Posted by: Jade 24th November 2015, 02:15 PM

Oh excellent! I was really gunning for either this or 'All You Had To Do Was Stay' to be the next single. Great choice, was worried it would be left under the 'single that never was' tag forevermore.

Singles rate~

01 'Out Of The Woods' (9.5/10)
02 'Bad Blood (Remix)' (9/10)
03 'Wildest Dreams' (8/10)
04 'Style' (8/10)
05 'Blank Space' (5/10)
06 'Shake It Off' (4/10)

'Bad Blood' was originally my least favourite song on the entire album! Catapulted so much in my affections from such a slick remix.

Not being delibaretly contrarian at all btw, I've just never really 'got' the two big singles off this album (though I did like 'Shake It Off' at first, it soon became grating).

Shake It Off was probably what made me dislike her even more laugh.gif Blank Space probably my favourite of the singles though!

Posted by: Viper* 24th November 2015, 08:28 PM

I am neither in love with this song nor do I dislike it. It's just not as WOW of a moment as people hype it to be.

Wildest Dreams did feel like a nice moment to end the album live.

Singles.
1. Shake It Off.
2. Wildest Dreams. ohmy.gif
3. Style.
4. Blank Space.
5. Out Of The Woods.
6. Bad Blood (Feat. Kendrick). The album version is better tbh.

Videos.
1. Blank Space.
2. Shake It Off.
3. Wildest Dreams
4. Bad Blood.
5. Style. Such a disappointing video. sad.gif

01 Blank Space
02 Style
03 Wildest Dreams
04 Out Of The Woods

06 Shake It Off

I love all of them but Shake It Off sounds like it belongs on the last album compared to the rest. The Top 3 are her best ever singles.

1 Blank Space 9.5/10
2 Out Of The Woods 9.5/10
-------------
3 Shake It Off 9/10
4 Style 8.5/10
5 Bad Blood 8/10
6 Wildest Dreams 7.5/10

Have always LOVED this song, so good to see it's getting the single treatment finally, although it does feel like the era should be over by now.

06. Bad Blood

No lie, OOTW is genuinely my favourite Taylor song, couldn't have remained an album track! The other three are all great though and highlights of the album, the latter two are just kinda good (though Bad Blood was vastly improved by the remix).

Posted by: Noahspike 25th November 2015, 12:53 AM

YESSSSS, great news! Not sure I could have ever forgiven her if this never got its rightful time to shine. Quite an unconventional pop song overall but so incredibly effective, and its appeal hasn't let up at all for me over the last year. wub.gif

01. Out of the Woods

IT'S ABOUT TIME.

This screamed official single back when it was a promo single a few weeks ago last year so I'm glad that this finally gets the treatment now.

Singles rank:
1.) "Blank Space"
2.) "Bad Blood"
3.) "Out Of The Woods"
4.) "Shake It Off"
5.) "Style"
6.) "Wildest Dreams"

I feel that "Wildest Dreams" had the largest burnout rate for me but they're all amazing.

I'm still thinking Taylor could easily re-release and move the bonus tracks up to the official list, then release "New Romantics" and a possible new single.

Posted by: Qween 25th November 2015, 07:54 AM

OH THANK GOD

This was the obvious highlight from the album, a bonafide earth shattering moment of pop majesty.

08 Blank Space
06 Style
04 Bad Blood
00 Shake It Off

Nope, it's probably in my top 50 or so of all time, so about my 4th fave Taylor song maybe.

Posted by: Qween 25th November 2015, 09:06 AM

Shake It Off is, was, and ever shall be monstrously awful.

Posted by: Joe. 25th November 2015, 09:16 AM

I did love Shake it off, but I just feel totally immune to its charm now. Even if it comes on at clubs now, I don't really get excited.

Posted by: HausofKubrick 27th November 2015, 07:10 AM

I haven't been its biggest fan but listening to it now and it's certainly a very apt era closer (that's if it is the final single). The fact it references 'taking a polaroid' picture which has been the aesthetic for the whole era and trying to escape the past and be in the clear for the future it's a very powerful final message and will leave us wondering what is next.

I think the song is really growing on me already.

1. Wildest Dreams
2. Style
3. Blank Space
4. Shake it Off
5. Out of the Woods
6. Bad Blood

Delivered to Australian radios this week, so it's confirmed that this is indeed the next single from the album (in case there was any doubt about it).

Posted by: Juliano 3rd December 2015, 11:55 AM

This song really isn't a stand out for me on the album... I enjoy the album as a whole, but this one get's just the slightest bit on my tit if I hear it too many times. I much prefer How You Get The Girl and All You Had To Do Was Stay.

Posted by: slowdown73 3rd December 2015, 12:21 PM

This is one of the standout tracks on her album but why leave it until 6th single? It feels too late for it to be a substantial hit now.

Posted by: James Frost 6th December 2015, 07:57 PM

I'm actually amazed she left this until the 6th single. I absolutely Adore it though so I'm perfectly happy at it getting a release.

01 Out Of The Woods
02 Blank Space
03 Style
04 Bad Blood
05 Wildest Dreams
06 Shake It Off

Not the best choice as I find other songs from the album better to be released as singles or last single for that era but still a good song.

My ranks for "1989" singles:
1. Style
2. Wildest Dreams
3. Blank Space
4. Out of the Woods
5. Shake It Off
6. Bad Blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

BB is not worst song but as other singles are way better or at least that's what I feel right now, it ended at 6 place in my opinion.
I hope the video for OotW is going to smash and to be well made!

06. Wildest Dreams

Smart to release this as a promo single at the end of the era (I suspect) so if it flops now at least it had a few decent peaks (Canada, NZ, America) therefore if it doesn't surpass it's initial chart success then it's fine from a commercial view point anyway. Either way this has 100% been my favourite Taylor Era and this comes from someone who was ready to pull her throat out when Shake It Off was released. I don't know whether it's working with Joseph Kahn each time but each visual from the pair has been great, especially Blank Space and Wildest Dreams! Can't wait for the video now, anyone know when we will have it by???

also welcome to new York was my album highlight goodbye.

Posted by: Jack 1st January 2016, 11:43 AM

Amazing video! She is really at the top of her game.

Don't think it will be a hit here considering how Wildest Dreams and Style did though, unfortunately.

Posted by: mr_pmt 1st January 2016, 12:16 PM

She also has the zero streaming thing going against her, I know 'Bad Blood' defied that but it was a muchly hyped video and a new remix.

Posted by: JosephMendes 1st January 2016, 01:02 PM

Yeah it would need to make #1 on iTunes with a solid lead to be top 5 in the UK overall I think. It will hopefully go top 40 but if they leave the impact date as late as they did for Wildest Dreams... drama.gif

I love the video though, it's incredible, she's been on top form with music videos this era. The song is finally starting to hit me too!

Now I've had time to take this in, I love the whole message of having to fight through so many obstacles in your life but in the end you find yourself and that's what really matters. And ATRL have fantastically pointed out that the message at the end of the song throws back to the 1989 booklet! Many Taylor fans will know that Taylor hides hidden messages in the song lyrics for each song in her album booklets and the message at the end of this video is the final message in the 1989 booklet, hidden within the lyrics for 'Clean' (you can see the message by looking for the letters in lower case):

If this is the final video of the era then what an absolutely fantastic and thoughtful way to close it. Bravo Taylor!

The full hidden message combining the messages from each song in the booklet is here in case anyone is interested but don't have the booklet themselves:

The full hidden message combining the messages from each song in the booklet is here in case anyone is interested but don't have the booklet themselves:

I think that could be a hint there'd be a 7th final single and it will be "Clean". What do you guys think?

As for the video, it's very well done and the idea is perfect. I think it's one of her best if it's not her bestest. wub.gif Tay-Tay looks adorably beautiful and sexy! Also the song hit me so hard and I'm under its impact!

if there is any justice in the world welcome to new York will be the seventh single ...if we even get that sad.gif

Forgot to post about this, but stunnng video of course wub.gif My favourite this era since Blank Space, which she'll find it hard to top I think.

I don't think we need a 7th single really but I'm of course happy if we get more amazing videos. Welcome To New York, All You Had To Do Was Stay, New Romantics, Wonderland could ALL be singles, it's a shame she can't milk it quite that much laugh.gif

after 'new romantics' this is easily her best song. though i must say i found the video somewhat disappointing and vapid. taylor is obv very found of sweeping cinematic videos but i don't see any narrative to back it up, on it's own it'd be fine but all the other videos she's put out this era...her videos are all about her looking like a film star and attempting to emulate a sense of grandiose....the lyrics to 'out of the woods' compared to the visuals just don't add up, i thought i was watching an x-men movie crossed with some sets from the lord of the rings.

it's been such a long campaign and if i'm honest now i don't especially like her, i find her to be somewhat smug and increasingly insincere (at least the songs are good)

The video is actually pretty cool. Shame the song is such a non-event - her worst single from 1989.

This is my favourite thing she's ever recorded. Seriously and the video is just Perfect. Granted it's not got anything to do with the lyrics but it's refreshing to see a video with just herself. Literally enjoyed every second of it.

But it's called OUT OF THE WOODS tongue.gif and the lyrics aren't actually to do with being in the woods!

Wish she had gone for New Romantics instead.

Like I love OOTW, don't get me wrong...

It's a good video and looks great, though the concept is a little bit jumbled and not entirely complementary to the lyrics, which I feel tell a better story. Better than the Bad Blood video though.

Really hoping this can become a decent sized hit, however late it's been left to release.

I've never really understood this song, and I still don't now. I've never really felt like this song said anything and I'm increasingly irritated with just how repetitive it is. The video is surprisingly similar in that regard - it's pretty (like the song) but 4~ minutes of prettiness isn't enough with nothing else behind it.

The polaroid theme is really grating on me now laugh.gif

... but in this instance it's fitting as that's actually one of the lyrics.

i wish she had better handwriting

Regardless it's boring and overused by now drama.gif

I like it when an artist sticks to a particular theme through the whole era. It is annoying, but only because of how drawn out this era has been. At least Rihanna and Katy had re-releases/new music during their eras. laugh.gif

She didn't stick with the theme for Bad Blood's artwork, and I don't think Style actually has official artwork? (The cover being used on its Wiki page is fan-made). So there's a bit of inconsistency!

I think the OOTW artwork is my favourite of the era.

^Big Machine/Republic http://www.bigmachinelabelgroup.com/big-machine-records-and-republic-records-present-taylor-swift-with-four-no-1-radio-airplay-plaques/ so I'm guessing it's official.

I do like it when there's a visual theme that ties an album campaign together, I just wish they'd stuck with the original artwork for the single.
