Tones and I should have an easy fourth week at #1 on the singles chart. Katy Perry's new single Harleys In Hawaii contends for the Top 40, BTS & Lauv team up on Make It Right, and Sugababes return on DJ Spoony's rework of Flowers

An open race on the album chart, with James Arthur's YOU, Foals' Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2 and Alter Bridge's Walk The Sky in contention for #1. Other new releases come from Daniel O'Donnell, Jimmy Eat World, Wretch 32, DJ Spoony, Floating Points, Battles and Caroline Polachek

Breakdown of the week
- Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative.
- Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm
- Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm
- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.
- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.
- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)
- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).
- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.
- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored.
- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

Jax Jones & Ella Henderson, The Script and Maroon all heading for new peak positions.
With the album sales so close, i would feel James Arthur may possible be better positioned to be the official Number 1 on Friday.

Close in the albums

I guess whoever’s better on streaming may do better but of the two I’d say James Arthur might be the bigger fanbase act?

The entire top 5 all new entries is good to see though.

Not exactly stellar sales but at least the album chart is actually a battle this week

Ugh, I really hope James Arthur doesn't claim the #1 album. He really needs to fade back into obscurity already.

I'd say Foals are more of a fanbase act, James Arthur is more likely to hold up throughout the week and end up being #1.

Ouch at DJ Spoony, thought the album would be doing better than that given the success Pete Tong's albums had?

I have been doing some research into X Factor Winner's 3rd albums (for the winners who released that many). This is how they performed in their first week:

Leona Lewis' Glassheart sold 27k.
Little Mix's Get Weird sold 60k.
Joe McElderry's Classic Christmas sold 34k.
Shayne Ward's Obsession sold 22k.

I can't find information for Alexandra Burke or Matt Cardle on their Wikipedia pages, but neither album has been certified silver, so I am fairly certain they would have sold considerably less than the above four.

Who would have thought that Joe McElderry's 3rd album would have outsold Leona Lewis'? Or Shayne Ward's 3rd would outsell Alexandra's?

Good X Factor information.
The sales climate was very different when those albums were released, Leona and Shayne sales were viewed as disappointing but Joe;s were viewed as impressive.
James Arthur will outsell the totals of all the mentioned, and should easily achieve an album with Gold selling status.
