Today marks 20 years since the release of 'Disremembrance', the third single from Dannii's third album Girl. Produced by Flexifinger, the song blends trance-inspired music and classical strings with ballad lyrics. Despite its lack of chart success, just missing out on the Top 20 in the UK and the Top 50 in Australia, 'Disremembrance' has gone on to be a huge fan favourite and one of Dannii's most critically praised.

Is this one of Dannii's best? Share your thoughts below!

Definitely one of her very best! wub.gif A shame it didn’t manage Top 20 in the UK.

This deserved to be the hit All I Wanna Do was as it was the stronger of the tracks.

I find the production on it a bit jarring, but as a song it is sublime. I need to seek out a good remix of it.

Was this and 'Breathe' released the same week, then? ohmy.gif

Her very best. Production is just amazing, the melody fantastic, and the lyrics are really awesome too

Wiki says there were both released on the 16th but Breathe charted the w/e 21 March and this was the w/e 28 March so Breathe must have been released slightly earlier for the UK at least.

Those strings and her voice are heartbreakingly beautiful; I don't think strings will ever not sound good on a dance track. This feels like it should have been a big 90s hit, but at least it has secured status within Dannii's discography.

It always reminds me of 'Set You Free' by N-Trance, I think because of the 'dance meets ballad' sound.

In all honesty - Dannii sort of killed her own campaign by insisting on releasing Everything I Wanted as the second single. Disremembrance probably would've done better if released in the aftermath of All I Wanna Do. Then again, there's not many commercial singles on Girl overall. They pretty much released them! Why they didn't include Someone New or Keep Up With The Good Times is beyond me...

Yeah EIW was a terrible follow up imo. Packs no punch
