15. Magic (7/29 votes, 24.14%) Just one round after the first one, we sadly lose another cut from Ghost Stories leaving, in possibly the most gloriously weird turnout I've seen on here in a long time, Midnight being the last single from the album standing, wow guys, I'm proud of you all. Anyway, onto the single leaving is which is Magic, a surprisingly back-to-basics approach after their stadium electronics of the last era, but one that still got them a surprisingly long-lasting hit here, despite the fact it just peaked at number 10. The three singles from the album were so disparate in style, but this Magic certainly reflects the stripped-back sound of the album the best. Symbolised by a white dove on the artwork and in the video, it takes the magic love metaphor to the extreme in the music video, filmed in the style of a silent film telling the story of a magician suffering in an abusive relationship before being saved by her apprentice who knows a few more tricks than he's given credit for. It's all very charming if goofy and complements the song very well which is also extremely charming, Ghost Stories didn't always hit the right mark and was a little samey, but this worked, but this is a testament to how stripped back Coldplay can still be really effective. 15. Magic (7/29 votes, 24.14%) 16. A Sky Full of Stars (6/24 votes, 25%) 17. Princess of China (8/33 votes, 25.81%) 18. Orphans (9/28 votes, 32.14%) 19. Hymn for the Weekend (10/26 votes, 38.46%) 20. God Put a Smile Upon Your Face (12/38 votes, 32.43%) 21. Charlie Brown (10/34 votes, 10%) (18/28 votes in tiebreak) 22. Christmas Lights (10/34 votes, 10%) (19/28 votes in tiebreak) 23. Up&Up (11/34, 11%) 24. Shiver (7/31, 9.59%) (Less votes in previous rounds) 25. Lost! (7/31, 9.59%) 26. Everglow (13/31, 17.81%) 27. Life in Technicolor II (9/32, 14.06%) 28. Atlas (12/32, 18.75%) 29. Something Just Like This (w/ The Chainsmokers) (9/29, 14.06%) 30. Miracles (Someone Special) (w/ Big Sean) (11/29, 17.19%) Same rules as ever, vote for your LEAST FAVOURITE. Next round will go up Wednesday evening. |

Once again the best of the post-Viva La Vida singles is voted out Magic is really nice, such a calming vibe.
C'mon peeps, we are CLOSE to getting rid of Adventure Of A Lifetime! |

Midnight lasting longer than Magic and A Sky Full of Stars is a bit disappointing.

Ooh I thought it was gonna end up being a tiebreak with 'Adventure Of A Lifetime' there, and potentially with 'Midnight' too, glad that there was one more vote for 'Magic' so we didn't have to do another tiebreak. And thrilled that 'Midnight' lasted the longest out of the 'Ghost Stories' singles, quite the turn up for the books indeed!
The time has come to vote for a pre-VLV song! And... it's gonna be 'Trouble' methinks. |

tom we could have overlooked out differences and voted out all the darkdemon friend but instead you faithfully voted for me every round because of our petty squabbles

Petty squabbles they may be to you, but for me, they cut much deeper. How will I trust you again, ChristaAfic? You must understand that I would never faithfully vote for anyone else without good reason nor would I overlook out differences, but this is extremely serious. I actually sympathise with the darkdemon friend, we've both been crossed by who we thought was our friend, SHAME
(you can stay in my sig for that though seriously) |
