Yeah, a show where a guy (or in the case of The Bachelorette, a girl) chooses his love out of 30 or so hopefuls. There's also Bachelor In Paradise that has Bachelor-styled challenges for couples to find love themselves. All hosted by Chris Harrison.

Current Cycle: The Bachelor Season 23
Bachelor: Colton Underwood

Already this is looking f*cking crazy. The Whaboom guy is funny. Peter and Bryan are WHOA heart.gif

Mohit getting eliminated in Day 1 is surprising because they showed his video package in the beginning but other than that the guys who were eliminated were the ones that got less than 5 seconds of screen time so... a bit excited for what this season will show.

BRYAN TO WIN. Or Alex. Or Peter.

Apparently someone from my High School was on this season (already eliminated). I didn't recognize him, but, someone on my Facebook posted about it.

Okay the climax of the entire season came WAAAAAAY too f*cking early

I can't I predicted the top 2 and the winner correctly

Why is The Bachelorette so much more predictable, this has happened the past three seasons

Posted by: Cody Rippon 28th February 2018, 04:15 AM

Okay this Bachelor season completely passed me by. It doesn't help that Arie is a walking piece of plywood.

There was also The Bachelor Winter Games that aired during the Olympics which was kinda pointless. I will admit I cried when Yuki left, she was such a sweetheart.

One of the guys taking part in the current series of The Bachelorette is someone I studied with when I was at Hastings College (Blake). Goodness, if the trailers I've seen with him in it are to be believed, he's a lot more vapid than I'd taken him for.

Apparently he was in the final two but he was turned down and Becca ended up choosing a guy who liked xenophobic Instagram comments drama.gif drama.gif this girl literally got dumped by a jackass and then turns around and picks a guy who is somehow just as bad lol. Looks like he's in the running to become the next Bachelor!

Anyway Bachelor In Paradise is back, with Wells Adams returning as a bartender/narrator and joined by Yuki Kimura from The Bachelor Japan! SO HYPED FOR QUEEN YUKI heart.gif heart.gif heart.gif

Bachelor Nation May have destroyed DWTS but that’s not gonna stop me from watching this! Let’s go Season 23!

Posted by: Cody Slaykali 8th January 2019, 06:55 AM

THE BACHELOR SEASON 23: COLTON UNDERWOOD’S STORY BEGINS

This season of The Bachelor starts off with a ton of watching parties. Chris is in LA (with Nick and Wells), Kaitlyn and Jonjo (my favorite Bachelorettes of all time) in Dallas, Blake and Jason crashing a viewing party in Michigan, and Ashley & Jared in Park City, Utah. And they’re all ready to kick off Colton’s pre-recorded journey in style. I just find it funny that he looks like one of my friends’ frat friends. But what does Sean Lowe 2.0 have to offer?

Colton grew up in a conservative family and got his big break as an NFL player. He’s been a pretty shy and timid person and falling for Becca & Bachelor In Paradise opened his eyes. He seems like a nice guy actually! I think he’ll kick off this Bachelor season to a much better start than Arie.

This year’s Bachelor hopefuls include a speech therapist, a dental hygienist, and... what? Miss Alabama?!

Baby Alert: Arie and Lauren are currently expecting! Yay. He is still a piece of plywood. I don’t get why this bit is necessary but it’s nice to see Trista again.

And finally... it’s limo time!

First Meetings: Colton doesn’t remember his first meeting with Becca but it felt special to him, so hopefully history repeats with “the one”.
1. Demi. 23, Interior Designer, claims that she hasn’t dated a virgin since she was 12. Her mother is a convicted felon.
2. Tayshia, 28, phlebotomist. She’s kinda cheesy. Idk. Screams filled
3. Heather, 22, never been kissed. She’s from Carlsbad, which is only an hour away from where I live!
4. Nicole, 22, social media coordinator. Her family is Cuban, and has a brother with ASD.
5. Caelynn, 23, Miss North Carolina. She switches her sash to “Miss Underwood”. Good Lord.
6. Sydney, 27, a dancer. She quit her job just to meet Colton, who muses about his lack of dancing ability.
7. Elyse, 31, makeup artist. Meh.
8. Tahzjuan, 25, Business Development Associate. Also filler. “I hope I can Tahzjuan for you.”
9. Cassie, 23, speech pathologist. She brings a box of butterflies. Also cheesy. I can see her going far but not getting picked, then getting into Paradise.
10. Kirpa, 26, dental hygienist, also biracial!
11. Caitlin, 25, realtor. She brings a balloon and immediately pops it, saying he “popped her cherry”.
12. Courtney, 23, Caterer. Apparently a sweet Georgia peach. Umm...
13. Katie, 26, Medical Sales Rep. Takes his “V-card”.
14. Alex D., 23, Sloth girl. Dresses up as a sloth and says Colton takes things slow. Good God.
15. Onyeka, 24, IT risk consultant. Is anyone gonna tell her she has an identical name to Nicki Minaj?
16. Erika, 26, Recruiter, last name McNutt. She gives him a bag of nuts to remember her name.
17. Hannah B, 23, Miss Alabama. She seems a bit too sweet for her own good. Hannah reveals that Catelynn was first runner up at Miss USA.
18. Tracy, 31, Wardrobe stylist, but is the fashion police. She gives him a pair of handcuffs, which Colton says he will save for the fantasy suite.
19. Angelique, 28, Marketing Sales specialist. Also filler.
20. Devin, 23, Broadcast journalist. More filler.
21. Revian, 24, nurse. Chinese. I like her but Colton probably won’t give her the time of day. drama.gif
22. Nina, 30, Sales Deveopment. Speaks Croatian.
23. Alex B, 29, lobotomist. Speaks with cards
24. Bri, 29, Model. Has an Australian accent but is definitely not even Australian. rolleyes.gif
25. Laura, 26, accountant. From Dallas.
26. Hannah G., 23, content creator. Gives him his favorite brand of underwear - nothing! There’s a rumor that he sleeps commando
27. Annie, 23, accountant. Football-savvy. Also filler.
28. Jane, 26, Social worker. Has photos of his dogs.
29. Catherine, 26, DJ. She also brings her 10 year old Pomeranian, Lucy. There’s gonna be a ton of dogs in this season huh? At least it’s not a ventriloquist dummy.
(They all talk about dogs after that)
30. Erin, 28, comes in as Cinderella, horse carriage and all.

Is that it? Please tell me that’s it. So yeah, a bunch of filler, but I can see Hannah B, Nicole, Caelynn, and Catherine lasting pretty long.

This does not have to be three hours. We’ve already had two proposals: one in Park City, one in Lansing. Dallas, you’re up!

*Back in the mansion*

The girls are buzzing, and Colton is pretty nervous. For him it’s all about finding the one and making their relationship last forever. OMG HE’S LIKE A GIANT TEDDY BEAR I CAN’T. Colton makes the usual Bachelor opening speech. There were a few who questioned if he was ready to do this, but he seems to be handling it well.

-

One-on-ones begin with Demi, who snatched him almost immediately after the toast. She works in Dallas but lives in rural country. There’s a bit of flirting going on and she’s living for it.

The talk turns to why he’s a virgin. The girls find it weird that he’s handsome but a virgin, and it’s something Erika wants to uncover. He doesn’t remember her name, but he remembers the nuts. Colton’s virginity is explained in his eyes: for him it’s deeply personal and that took a backseat during his professional career. It’s something he wants to hold on to and his first time should be special.

More one-on-ones. Kirpa liked his speech, he can’t remember some other girls’ names. The conversations turn to his football career. There were still some first night jitters but he’s easing into the job. He also talks about his breathing techniques.

Caelynn’s one-on-one: she loves NC but she loves to travel, with Phuket being one of her best places. Pageant life has given her so much that she’s grown up faster than normal. Colton can relate to this: his mom gave birth to him at 24. And then... the first kiss of the season.

Chris comes out and leaves the First Impression Rose on the table. The First Impression Rose has a peculiar history, with most of its recipients going on to the final 2 or being the Bachelorette in other cases. Who will Colton end up choosing?

Sydney brings out a string quartet for her one-on-one with him. Despite his lack of dancing ability, he picks up on the waltz quickly. It’s cute and all but PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON’T PUT HIM ON DWTS. We had enough with Joe.

Elyse takes him fishing, Tayshia creates her own carnival (with him as the pony), Sloth Girl is on the trees, and then... A FACE REVEAL!!! Colton is impressed that Alex stayed in character the entire time.

Catherine comes out and Colton reports that Chris is dogsitting. Catherine already trusts him with Lucy and tells him that she loves him. However it’s cut short by Tracy stealing him for a bit. Catherine reveals in a talking head that she’s out to get what she wants. LMAO. She SCREAMS Bachelor In Paradise material.

Tons of drama already. There’s some bad air with Catherine stepping on people’s toes. She continues to emphasize that Colton is her first priority. Instead she interrupts Tahzjuan‘s one-on-one. CHRIST.

(Premiere party again, and Ben Higgins appears for a fan!)

Cassie’s one-on-one again, and she teaches sign language to Colton. He’s feeling the spark with some more girls. He finds a kiss with Katie, which is surprising.

Now it’s time for Hannah’s one-on-one and instead of a kiss, they shared a pinky promise. And then... it’s not this Hannah who got the First impression Rose, but Hannah G! Colton explains that he gave her the FIR because she owned her nervousness. So congratulations Hannah G for making it to the finale!

And it’s time for the Rose Ceremony. Will we have another Grocery Store Joe on our hands?

*back in the premiere parties*

A talk with Colton! He’s much more comfortable than usual.

*back in the mansion*

Rose Ceremony: some questionable choices made (Annie and Nina in particular), Catherine gets the last Rose over Tahzjuan/Devin/Erin. Weird. Though it wouldn’t be The Bachelor without a couple filler choices. Both girls he kissed made it through, as do both pageant queens.

LTHE BACHELOR SEASON 23 EPISODE 2: THE WEEK OF FIRSTS

I hope to god that I can still remember these girls’ names. Thank GOD it’s not live.

The girls are all settled in and Colton opens the episode in a vlog setting where he explains that it’s the first group date today. Chris talks to the girls about last night, with the subjects being first night impressions, their impression of Colton, and of course Hannah G, the first confirmed finalist- I mean First Impression Rose. Then Chris delivers the first date card to the girls:

Group Date #1:
1. Demi
2. Bri
3. Tracy
4. Elyse
5. Hannah G.
6. Nicole
7. Onyeka
8. Catherine

The group of eight is led to a theater where they meet Megan Mullaley and Nick Hoffman (yes, the writers of Will & Grace!). For this date, the girls and Colton get to tell stories about their significant firsts. Yeah, there’s a lot of stories about sex here lol. Their job is to work on a story about their significant firsts and how they can impress Colton with their personality, and later that night they get to speak in front of an audience. The talk turns to Colton and who he thinks is the craziest girl. He opts not to answer.

During one on ones, Colton talks to Hannah about how the most common advice used is to imagine the audience in their underwear. Yeah, you shouldn’t be telling them that because now the focus will be on Colton in his underwear. During Demi’s pitch, the couple advise her not to use any profanity. She still seems confident in her narration abilities and that she can wow Colton with her story.

It’s time for the show and the girls are pretty nervous. However, Colton starts off... with another story about how he’s a virgin. OH MY GOD WE GET IT. Back in high school he was always approached about how many girls he’s slept with (yeah, because all athletes lose their virginity at 15) but him telling the truth was liberating for him and his teammates respected him from that.

And now for the girls!
Elyse: She talks about her first time dating a younger man in the eyes of someone older than most of the contenders. It was cute.
Nicole: First Time dating a white man. She explains that all the other guys she’s dated are Latino and that Colton is a nice change of pace.
Hannah: First Impression Rose. Awwwww.
Bri: First Time she felt comfortable in her own skin.
Onyeka: “I saved him from some bitches!” I think this is about her job as a lifeguard. Or her first reality show confrontation.
Catherine: a rebuttal on Onyeka’s story
Tracy: her first time dating a virgin. She causes someone to punch her in the face.
Demi: OH MY GOD. She talks about how she goes for how she wants and then plants one on him, much to the chagrin of the other girls. She then closes that this story is about how she got the first group date rose. COLD.

Tracy explains in a talking head that Demi was a bit more immature because of this stunt, but it’s not like she really cares.

Back in the house, another date card appears and the girls are ecstatic. It’s then revealed that Hannah B gets a one-on-one date with Colton, where he says “True Love is on the horizon.” Interesting seeing that it was her birthday.

Colton takes the group date girls to dinner and muses about how impressed that the girls got to open up in the way that they did. Demi snatches him almost immediately and the other girls are a bit frazzled. The talk turns to Demi’s impromptu kiss and they thought that their first kiss with him would be more momentous.

Group Date #1 One-On-Ones:
• Colton and Demi chat about her bold move and share another kiss. Demi explains that the other girls should take the opportunity at the first leap. Demi approaches the Rose after her one-on-one and the girls are more shocked. There’s a bit of fake giggling but there’s still a bit of tension on Tracy’s side.
• Colton’s meeting with Elyse was more heartwarming and she reveals a joke with the other girls about the “cougar den”, and she explains that there’s a lot of wisdom that comes with those extra years, and that the girls were glad that Colton trusted them enough to share these stories with them. They share a kiss, all is good.
• Onyeka and Tracy y’all about Demi’s immaturity and they don’t feel that she’s serious about Colton, but rather get a spot on Bachelor In Paradise. Her sophomoric attitude bothers Tracy a ton and she confronts Demi about it. Demi is very much unapologetic about it and that the older girls aren’t much of a threat to her.
• Hannah’s still feeling the euphoria from the night but still feels the pressure of competing with twenty other girls. Colton feels at home with Hannah, and he’s pretty much smitten. Meanwhile Demi sneaks a peek at the couple but she’s not worried - she believes that he wants a more dominant girl, and that the other contenders are more passive.
• Nicole talks about leaving her family being hard for him. The talk turns to her brother with ASD, and Colton segues into his charity with cystic fibrosis. She tells him that he’s very easy to talk to and that’s something she appreciates because she would never talk about her brother on a first date - it was probably too personal to share. But he loved it.

Now, the Rose. He gives the Rose to Elyse for taking a risk and sharing her story and her wisdom. Demi and Nicole are disappointed, the latter taking it more personal because she doesn’t think he feels the same way she does especially after sharing a piece of her heart with him.

Group Date Rose #1: Elyse

Back at the house, Hannah B is ecstatic about getting a one-on-one on her birthday. Colton picks her op on an orange Jeep, it’s very cute. The date is in the desert, where they ride horses into the sunset. Another first for Hannah.

One-on-One #1:
• Hannah and Caelynn were roommates during Miss USA but she exploded with jealousy when Caelynn got second. Caelynn then rants about how Hannah is fake and that everything will come out eventually.
• There’s a bit of a picnic near the rocks and they share a birthday toast to honesty and transparency. Hannah gets flustered and forgets how to make a toast. Hannah reveals that she doesn’t want to do something she doesn’t feel comfortable doing and Colton gets that vibe. The last thing he doesn’t want a girl to feel is uncomfortable. In a talking head, he’s taken aback that she isn’t opening up as much as he would like. She seems a bit more timid and rigid than how he invisioned.
• There’s an eyelash wish in the hot tub and then he talks about the elephant in the room: Hannah’s uncomfortable. He understands - he competed with thirty other guys for Becca and then again in Paradise, but he’s still a bit frustrated. Could her shyness become the one thing that sends her home?
• The second part of the date? Dinner on the Queen Mary. He’s still a bit apprehensive about this date with Hannah’s timidness. Another toast to opening up. I feel like he’s trying to give her a sign. He tells her that he senses some weird energy because the Hannah he met on the first night was not the same Hannah on this date. He assures her that she doesnt have to be the perfect pageant girl. She explains to him that it takes time for her to break down and expressing her enotions.
• The talk turns to why he kept his virginity and he says that there were a hunch of things that didn’t happen and how his athletics and expectations led to his virginity taking a backseat. Hannah also made a commitment to saving herself until marriage, but it killed her that her past relationship didn’t lead to what she wanted. There’s the open Hannah he wanted!

Back at the house... Heather mentions that she has never been kissed and that she takes her physical intimacy seriously. But wait - another date card!

Group Date #2:
1. Alex
2. Erika
3. Katie
4. Caelynn
5. Sydney
6. Tayshia
7. Nina
8. Kirpa
9. Caitlin
10. Courtney
11. Cassie
12. Heather

Back to the one-on-one, he explains that the date was incredible despite it taking a while for Hannah to break down her walls. Colton assured her that her decisions in the past don’t define her. Then she gets the Rose. For Hannah, it’s Colton’s patience that made her more appreciative. It’s the typical “I see myself with [insert Bachelor here]” talk again lol.

One-On-One Rose #1: Hannah B.

Group Date #2 for him is... Bachelor summer camp! There’s some cute camp activities going on and it’s all fun and dandy.. but there’s some party crashers... American Horror Story’s Billy Eichner is in the house! Chris reveals that the girls are competing in a jamboree competition, with the winning team getting to stay with him overnight. Spells some trouble for the losing team, could that be the reason they don’t get a Rose?
• The red team wins the relays pretty handily
• The yellow team wins the canoe race with Billy describing the red team’s path as the same as Colton trying to find a vagina. Weird.
• There’s a huge struggle in the tug of war with Colton as the flag. And the red team wins the tug of war. Which means the yellow team... are probably in danger of going home tonight.

Back at the house, the yellow team begrudgingly return and explain that the red team got to stay overnight.

Group Date #2 One-On-Ones:
• Colton tells Katie that he grew up in a competitive family and there was so much pressure of pleasing his parents’ expectations and his love life took a backseat to that. It’s something she respects. They share another kiss.
• Back at the shack, Heather tells Cassie that she’s going to tell Colton that she’s never been kissed. She’s concerned that he might think that she’s not ready. During their one-on-one, she wants to relate to Colton with him telling Becca about his virginity, and then proceeds to drop the bomb. Colton reassures her that she shouldn’t feel ashamed about that. Heather explains that she values her morals more than finding a relationship and doing whatnot, which Colton respects. There’s no kiss but... we’ll see.
• Back in the house... the tables turn and Hannah B is talking mad shit about Caelynn and that she’s scared that she might sabotage Hannah in her one on one.
• Caelynn reveals that she had encephalitis when she was two and almost died, and Colton admired her for this because it showed her resilience.
The Rose: He has fun with all of the girls but he gives the Rose to... Heather! He’s glad that she opened up about her qualms on physical intimacy and that he appreciated her transparency.

Group Date Rose #2: Heather

Tbh I really like Heather. She’s charming and shows a lot of confidence and self-worth, and her taking that risk only solidifies this.

It’s time for the second Rose Ceremony and the girls are on edge as usual, especially those who were sent home during the second group date and those who didn’t get a date at all. It’s their last chance to impress him and get to know him better.

• Colton noticed that Courtney led the team, and she explains that she took that leadership role through taking care of her siblings. For her, she’s taken on a motherly role and she wears it like a badge. Good on you.
• Sydney’s a bit frustrated as he runs through the yellow team (Nina first, then Kirpa) because she wanted that one-on-one. She confesses that she “cheated” during the canoe competition and it’s nice fun banter. Onyeka interrupts them with an airhorn, and Sydney rebutts with pots and pans.
• For Tracy, meeting with him is not a game like she thinks some of the girls think it is. And in comes Demi to swoop in and snatch him away from her with a trip to her fantasy closet. Ooooookay? The other girls believe that she was rude for this move. “The cougar attacks don’t really bother me,” she muses.
• The two clear the air, sorta, with Demi telling her that she’s amazing and stuff, but in a talking head, she wants Tracy to be more dominant.

Second Rose Ceremony:

Tracy is still visibly upset by what has transpired but she’s not gonna let that show.
Already with roses: Heather, Hannah B., Elyse
1. Tayshia
2. Cassie
3. Caitlin
4. Courtney
5. Demi (not even shocked)
6. Nicole
7. Kirpa
8. Hannah G.
9. Catherine
10. Bri
11. Sydney
12. Onyeka
13. Katie
14. Caelynn
15. Nina
16. Tracy (whew! all that tension not going to waste!)

I’m kinda disappointed Angelique wasn’t even given the time of day this episode sad.gif She could have been a shoo-in for Bachelor In Paradise. I’m also surprised he let Erika go so early too.

THE BACHELOR SEASON 23 EPISODE 3: THE WHITE KNIGHT RISES

Chris getting down to the nitty gritty!

Group Date #1:
1. Katie
2. Heather
3. Hannah B.
4. Courtney
5. Kirpa
6. Tracy
7. Demi
8. Caelynn
“I’m looking for life’s greatest treasure.” - Colton

Tracy & Demi AND Hannah & Caelynn? Chris is REALLY pulling something with these group dates.

The first group date has Colton dressing up as a pirate in some cheesy pirate play. The challenge is to train like pirates, and the two best pirates will get some special time with Colton. Wow. Very Total Drama of you, Bachelor production. Tensions between Hannah and Caelynn are boiling with some jealousy, and Hannah rises that she doesn’t want to compete in another pageant.

Tracy and Caelynn get chosen to star with Colton in this play, so it looks like they’re getting that rose lol. After a bit of a tussle, Caelynn wins the challenge and gets to save Colton. In a talking head, Hannah believes that if Colton knew the truth about Caelynn, then he’d change his mind.

She’s gonna pull an Alex, huh?

Group Date #1 One-On-Ones:
• Colton loves how the girls had so much fun, but he felt that his time with Katie felt more... loose. He also says that food is a huge impression of his.
• Tracy and Demi go at it... again. The latter thinks Tracy is passive-aggressive towards her.
• Demi cuts into poor Courtney’s time just to get some quality time with Colton. She gets a paddle and playfully spanks Colton. You can tell he feels slightly uncomfortable with the numerous sex toys. Demi thinks she’s the only girl who challenges Colton.
• Courtney confronts Demi about her attitude, and she’s very unapologetic about what she did.
• Caelynn of course had a ton of fun. And she shares a kiss with Colton. In a talking head, he explains that he feels excited around Caelynn.
• Heather explains that Hannah needs to say something if there is something different then she should say something about it. She’s definitely pulling an Alex now.
• Now it’s Hannah’s turn and she thinks that whatever she’s hiding is just eager to come out. She explains that she and Caelynn fell out after the pageant but she doesn’t really know how to specify. She believes that the high tension and hostile environment was a catalyst to this, and that if he had feelings for Caelynn, then he probably won’t have feeling for her because they are completely different. Colton has a ton of questions about this and things felt very unclear. She doesn’t think the one-on-one went well. Almost immediately, he summons Caelynn.
• ...and he proceeds to throw Hannah under the bus. But he wants to hear both sides. Caelynn explains that she goes quiet during competition.

However, Colton doesn’t really care and that his time together with her was all that really mattered, so...

Group Date Rose #1: Caelynn

Hannah definitely shot herself in the foot with this one.

-

One-On-One date: Elyse
“Love is in the air.” - Colton.

Elyse seems excited about the helicopter ride, Fifty Shades Of Grey style, and they head off to Belmont Park. He then says that it’s gonna be a group date... with a bunch of kids. She explains that Colton sometimes takes hospitalized children on dates like this for his charity and it’s the most touching thing ever.

He then talks to some of the girls and they give him advice on how to impress Elyse. One of them suggests cotton candy. Another one talks about how a guy kissed her... and she didn’t like it.

Colton explains that his charity was inspired by his sister getting diagnosed with cystic fibrosis during his stint in professional football, and all he wants is for these kids and their parents to experience childhood.

COLTON IS SO PURE. OH MY GOD.

The rollercoaster stops before it drops, which he gives as an opportunity to kiss her and tell her that he enjoyed seeing her with the kids.

One-on-One #1:
• It’s dinner at the Gaslamp, and Elyse felt grateful for the experience with the kids.
• Colton loves that Elyse is very confident but he wants to know why. Her sister was a labor and delivery nurse and got pregnant with her second baby. However, she had a cancerous tumor discovered, but all she wanted to do was deliver her baby, even if it ended up being too late for her. It really puts everything into perspective.
• Elyse shares that she has her own charity with her family catering to newborns. Colton loves that it showed a more motherly side of her.

Colton’s excited about the future. Does that mean a Rose?

One-On-One Rose #1: Elyse

Hell yeah. But there’s one more surprise for her... it’s a huge concert with Tenille Arts. Lol country.

-

Group Date #2:
1. Tayshia
2. Nina
3. Catherine
4. Sydney
5. Onyeka
6. Cassie
7. Nicole
8. Caitlin
“Every strong man needs an even stronger woman.” - Colton

So the only person left without a date is Hannah G.

Enter a shirtless Colton... working out and pushing tires. He explains that he spent a lot of time working out and that’s what the group date is. Yeah, he brought Terry Crews.

Sydney feels very comfortable with this as a dancer, and Catherine did taekwondo, but there are a couple girls who did struggle. Colton seemed fascinated by Sydney’s foot flexibility and turnout.

Today’s challenge? Bachelor’s Strongest Woman. Only three girls get to make it to the final event and only one wins. Expect her to get the group date Rose.

Onyeka is up First with pushing a wedding cake. She ran track which helped.

Next is Nicole, and she’s doing all she can to get her attention... to distract from her lack of athleticism.

During the ring toss, we see Catherine nail flipping tires, as does Sydney. The limo pull was a hot mess, especially with Tayshia.

Caitlin has her determination under her and the limo somehow moves.

The three finalists? Sydney, Catherine and Onyeka. They get to compete in the final event, the Heavy Heart relay. Onyeka just felt very natural and had the rose as morivation, and she ends up winning.

Group Date #2 One-On-Ones:
• Tayshia had a ton of fun and thought it was better than the last date. He loved that he was supportive of the other women, which she replies with “strong women empower other women”. Colton wants someone who can tell him when he’s wrong.
• The other girls are talking about how you can go home at any minute. Foreshadowing?
• Nicole relates this challenge with her grandmother leaving Cuba for better opportunity in the US. Colton could tell how much he really cares and how strong her soul is.
• He delivers Onyeka a slice of cake for winning, and he thinks Onyeka is more natural with her feelings.
• With Cassie, he feels butterflies, and he shares a kiss with them.
• He thinks his connection with Caitlin was a bit behind, and she feels the same way. She doesn’t think that a bunch of things are sticking out as a personal point for Colton. You can just feel the awkwardness. It almost seems like she’s trying way too hard to connect with him. He just doesn’t feel anything with her.

He wanted to see some clarity, and his one-on-one with Caitlin was extremely cloudy. And it’s off to the lame-o-sine for her.

Early Elimination: Caitlin

Now it’s onto the Rose. And despite a weak showing, we get to see a Rose for...

Group Date Rose #2: Nicole

YES. Also surprised to see Colton deviate from the path a bit.

-

The girls are still a bit rocked by Caitlin going home. Instead of a cocktail party, we get a small pool party. Pretty sure we still get a rose ceremony.

Hannah wants to redeem herself from her awkward talk from the group date, and hopefully this next talk will clear the air.

Colton takes his shirt off and Demi immediately proceeds to oil him up. It a bit fun.

• The focus turns to the other Hannah, who didn’t get a date and wanted an opportunity. Turns out she had nothing to worry about and they share a kiss.
• Hannah and Heather seems to be bonding a lot and seeing Caelynn getting farther with Colton is lighting a fire under her butt. Leave it to Heather to stir the pot though.
• Caelynn talks about her past with Hannah. She thinks Hannah flipped when Caelynn got second place and Hannah wasn’t even mentioned at all, and thinks she gets jealous when she gets the slightest bit of success, and she’s manipulative and toxic. Colton is a bit confused because the Hannah he saw previously was a much different person than who Caelynn described.
• Now it’s Hannah’s turn to clear the air. Colton regurgitates what Caelynn told him, and Hannah tells him that Caelynn has been hiding stuff and if Colton gave her the final rose, he wouldn’t be seeing all of her. It’s frustrating for him because it’s an endless cycle going between them. Hannah’s worried because she had to spend all her time defending her character rather than getting their relationship back on track.

There’s ZERO clarity for him. He’s worried that someone will be there to use him. Wow. He’s really Sean Lowe 2.0.

Third Rose Ceremony:

Half of the girls didn’t get enough time with him, Hannah B. may be the most in danger this time because of all the drama happening.

Already with roses: Caelynn, Elyse, Nicole
1. Hannah G.
2. Tayshia
3. Katie
4. Cassie (YAS)
5. Kirpa
6. Sydney
7. Demi (lmao)
8. Tracy (lmao x2. Looks like we get to see them duke it out again)
9. Courtney
10. Heather (YAS)
11. Onyeka (YAS)
12. Hannah B.

We say goodbye to Catherine and Bri, two surprising exits, but not before we get a mention of her dog.

Hannah B, Caelynn, Tracy and Demi are providing the most entertainment right now.

NEXT WEEK: Colton and the girls travel to Singapore where they engage in some crazy rich fun. But tensions will go to a head between the pageant girls, and Demi antagonizes another girl, this time with the intention of crumbling her down.

Posted by: N-S 26th January 2019, 03:25 AM

I think that Cassie will be the final pick.

The show has a way to subtly indicate the viewer whom you should see as wife material and she has been getting the same treatment as Becca in Arie's season since the premiere.

- No funny job description nor trace of catty/villainy statements.
- Romantic/upbeat music when she met Colton.
- Shots of Colton impressed/interested in her.
- Being lowkey significantly featured without being showcased too much, just enough to make us see she's there.
- Not being part of the initial drama storylines.

THE BACHELOR SEASON 23 EPISODE 4: CRAZY RICH BACHELOR

Hannah vs. Caelynn. Nothing new here. If Hannah really wants validation, then she really needs to get her words together. She gets flustered every single time she comes face to face with him.

Chris then announces the first international destination: Singapore! How will they handle the Crazy Rich Asians lifestyle?

Apparently Colton has never traveled outside the US. He should be pretty excited.

One-On-One #1: Tayshia
“Let’s fall in love.” - Colton

He takes Tayshia to Sentosa Beach and they out here wearing white shoes & socks to the beach. But wait, there’s a twist... they’re going bungee jumping today! Colton explains that he wasn’t able to do risky stuff like this because he didn’t want to risk injury, but he’s here to figure everything out.

Welp. That’s high. At least they’ll be scared together. Colton jumps first... not too confident. But Tayshia nails it and it led to a nice moment between them. Way to take the leap, you guys!

One-on-One #1 Dinner Date Highlights:
• There’s a nice kiss in the water. Tayshia feels that there’s something there and that it’s powering her up to fight for this more.
• The next part of the date overlooks the Singapore skyline. Colton wants to wonder how she’s seems to keep that positive attitude.
• Tayshia reveals that she was previously married but then got a divorce during the previous year. For her, she feared getting back into dating because of the Christian mindset of “one and done”. For her, marriage is not about forcing one’s happiness. Colton empathizes because of his divorced parents.

And... well what do you know? Share something personal about yourself, give that trust to him, and you get the Rose.

One-On-One Rose #1: Tayshia

The date ends in the Ferris wheel, which looks like the Asian London Eye.

-

Group Date:
1. Hannah G.
2. Elyse
3. Kirpa
4. Sydney
5. Heather
6. Onyeka
7. Tracy
8. Nicole
9. Demi
10. Courtney
11. Katie
12. Cassie
13. Hannah B.
“Let’s get a taste of Singapore.” - Colton.

Hannah feels frustrated because she doesn’t get that full attention from Colton that Caelynn will eventually get. Demi’s frustrated because she thinks Colton is putting all his attention on diffusing the feud between Hannah and Caelynn instead of someone not part of the drama.

Colton talks about how he’s not into something too dominant. And in comes Demi who just leaps into his arms. The date is all about experiencing other cultures.

But wait... is that- a tub of leeches?!?! Leech therapy is a dermatological therapy where medical leeches remove toxins from the skin and blood, which can remove inflammation. Each of the girls seem open-minded about it.

He invites Cassie to get a fortune teller read, and the teller calls her Colton’s past-live sister. It’s so cute.

Hannah is concerned that Colton is avoiding him because of the drama back in the US, but he’s dividing his attention to all the other girls. For her, getting that time with him will hopefully clear some air. Yeah, because that worked out so well last time.

Now for the eating challenge. First is some deep fried frog legs and some pig’s feet. He calls over to Hannah B. to try a fish eye. To Colton, he wants to find someone who is as adventurous as him.

Dinner comes around, so here comes more one-on-ones. Hannah grabs Colton almost immediately and it’s become the elephant in the room. How will she deal with it.

Group Date #1 One-On-Ones:
• Hannah spills the beans about the last episode. She believes that nobility is key, and she feels scared because she doesn’t feel that Colton doesn’t know who she is. He’s fine with it but he doesn’t want it to affect other relationships. It’s good progression. She kept her composure and laid it out on the table, and it worked in her favor this time.
• He had a ton of fun with Cassie and they talk about the fortune teller saying “brother in a past life”. A bit awkward, but they don’t seem fazed by it. They share a kiss, and Cassie asks him if his “sister” would kiss him like that. Colton loves how comfortable Cassie makes him.
• Onyeka gets him matching chopsticks. Sydney offers some first aid. Hannah G. teaches him some palm reading. Possibly a tie in to the fortune teller?
• Demi thinks Courtney needs to get out of her own head while she believes she’s trying to be respectful of the other girls. Demi thinks this approach is lazy and could get her sent home.
• During her one-on-one, Demi reveals that her mom was recently released from prison. Colton appreciates her ability to make lemonade from lemons.
• Courtney still wants to sit and wait, which frustrates Demi. She goes to talk to him again because she loved the reaction.
• The other girls finally get Courtney to buck up and get her own time with Colton, and it leads to a fight between her and Demi. Courtney up and leaves the room after that.

Tonight, he felt that the Rose should go to someone who showed a different side of themselves:

Group Date Rose #1: Demi

He sends no one home surprisingly! For Demi, it was vindication for her because it showed that whatever initiative she took worked out in her favor. Courtney is in tears.

-

One-On-One Date #2: Caelynn
“I’ve been waiting for this special day for so long. Meet me downstairs.” - Colton

Hannah’s happy for Caelynn... sorta.

Colton is dressed pretty dapper, and he decides to take Caelynn on a shopping spree.

Back at the house, The Hannah’s gets to have some alone time. B tries to block Caelynn out of her mind, to which G laughs.

Caelynn is getting spoiled dirty. She looks freaking AMAZING in those clothes.Colton believes he has amazing chemistry with Caelynn and he hopes for it to carry over into the night.

She returns to the house with all those bags, beaming. As she talks about the one-on-one, you can just sense the jealousy. All you can hear us sound bites of everyone saying “woooooowwwww” while the camera pans to the girls saying nothing. Lol. A+ editing, production.

Next is dinner in one of her new cocktail dresses. Caelynn plans to tell him something personal about her and she believes it’s a worthy conversation.

One-On-One Date Dinner Highlights:
• Some more “I feel really happy with you” conversations to open with.
• Caelynn feels that what she’s about to tell him is important because it affect her intimacy. She revealed that she and her friends were sexually assaulted during a party. In that event she tried to get justice, albeit unsuccessfully, and since then intimacy because a huge trigger for her. Her mother helped her through it after a year in the dark.

Let’s pause here. Rape is never easy to talk about, especially in a society so volatile towards subjects such as this. However, I feel for Caelynn and I’m really glad that she felt comfortable to open up about this on national TV, let alone to Colton on national TV. This was extremely brave for her, and it’s a story that should be heard. Bachelor Nation is here for you, Caelynn!

• Colton opens up about being in a relationship with someone who was sexually abused in the past. Going through that with her in the past has given him the needed experience to help him empathize with her. Caelynn explains that an event with such gravity affects everyone around them. She tells him that she feels safe with him.

Group Date Rose #2: Caelynn

-

There is still so much tension between some of the girls. Hannah B. and Caelynn seem to be taking a backseat to Courtney and Demi now. Oy vey. Let’s see how this goes

• Hannah G. feels very confident about her relationship with Colton and while she’s afraid of taking such a chance, she realizes that wearing her heart on her sleeve is something she needs to do. It’s tough for her because she feels comfortable around him, but she’s still a bit nervous about these things. Hannah has a point. Everyone has something unique but the time has to be right. That’s probably why I was half apprehensive about Caitlin’s elimination last week - she didn’t have a sob story like everyone else.
• Hannah B. and Caelynn have a conversation to help clear the air, and the girls are pretty excited to see shit go down. The girls want to put the past aside and focus on their relationship with Colton. They don’t have to be best friends (we all know Hannah B. has a better connection with Heather and the other Hannah), but it’s good to support each other as women. I’m not buying this at all. Things will escalate again once the Demi drama is over, which will be never. She’s become Corinne 2.0.
• Back to Demi & Courtney. There’s so much tension. During Demi’s one-on-one, she calls Courtney the “cancer” of the house and claims that she attacked her. Christ, Demi, when are you gonna stop?
• Courtney is still visibly upset about everything. She opened up to Demi about what was going on and Colton reveals Demi’s allegations towards Courtney. Courtney retaliates by saying Demi is there for the wrong reasons and is only there to get TV time and play the game the right way. In a talking head, Courtney believes Demi pushed the wrong buttons.
• This is deja vu for Colton. His worst nightmare is that someone would be using him to get TV time.

Demi and Courtney go at it, it’s a pretty heated exchange. But it’s entertaining.

Fourth Rose Ceremony:

So much went on. How will this affect things?

Already with roses: Caelynn, Demi, Tayshia
1. Hannah G. (daaaang. he really feels comfortable in their relationship)
2. Heather
3. Kirpa (really? she’s gotten zero screen time)
4. Hannah B.
5. Katie
6. Elyse
7. Sydney
8. Cassie (YAS)
9. Nicole (YAS)
10. Onyeka (YAS)

How convenient that the two girls Demi had been feuding with the most ended up going home. Courtney thinks if Colton doesn’t realize how evil Demi is now, he’ll realize it too late.

NEXT WEEK: Thailand!!! Some of the highlights include Hannah, Cassie and Heather (especially getting her first kiss!). And more shit is going down. Is this where Elyse says she won’t accept the proposal?

i watch the show with my sister and aunt all the time and we came to the conclusion that it would end up being between Cassie and Hannah G. Those two seem to be getting similar winner edits. It also helps that they haven’t been on one-on-ones yet so whatever is planned for them will be more special than it seems.

Where is your Episode 5 post? Is it M.I.A. like Kirpa's reason for her chin band-aid?

THE BACHELOR SEASON 23 EPISODE 5: THE THAIS THAT BIND

Welcome to Thailand! Home to exotic beaches, elephants you can ride on, and the best pad thai you can dream of. The girls are talking about who’s further into the relationship. Sydney pines that those who have had one-on-ones are less in danger because they have had that time

One-On-One #1: Heather
“Let’s experience something new.” - Colton

The two meets near a river and Heather is extremely excited. Colton suggests that the best way to experience Thailand is through a boat ride which takes them around the surrounding islands.

Heather explains that she hasn’t kissed anyone because she’s still finding that person who is special enough, and she believes that Colton is.

Back in the house, Elyse is feeling distraught seeing other people get so much time with him, which is sorta understandable since she did get a one-on-one early on. But COME ON. This is the 23rd season! Surely 90% of the contestants have seen it, The Bachelorette, or any of the spin-offs.

Back with Heather, the two arrive in Phan Nga, Thailand’s famous floating city, and the two take some time to soak up the culture. Which is something people do during their first time in a country.

One-on-One #1 Dinner Date Highlights:
• In a talking head, Heather mentions that she has to wait for the perfect time for her first kiss. She knows that she wants it with Colton, she just doesn’t know when.
• Colton wants his relationship to be about trying new things and soaking up new cultures.
• Heather mentions her past love life. During college she meets a guy who seems to good to be true, and the two casually dated for a while. Her friends kept pressuring her to get through with the relationship but she didn’t feel as interested in him.
• Colton wants to give their relationship a shot, but he wants Heather to feel comfortable.

All that insight has given Colton a newfound respect for Heather, and he hopes that more first experiences will come.

One-On-One Rose #1: Heather

The date ends with a bonfire looking out into the moonlight but then... fireworks. This seems like a perfect opportunity for Heather to get her kiss, but does she take it?

...And she does! Sparks continue to fly above

-

Group Date:
1. Demi
2. Caelynn
3. Hannah B.
4. Sydney
5. Tayshia
6. Kirpa
7. Onyeka
8. Nicole
9. Hannah G.
10. Elyse
“Will our love survive?” - Colton.

The girls are excited for Cassie because she gets a one-on-one, but Elyse is still confused. Is Colton into her? Or has she become second fiddle to other girls?

But wait- there’s drama ensuing.

Back at the house, Heather talks about her date and first kiss, Elyse randomly storms out. The other girls are a bit weirded out, but I guess all these emotions have been bubbling up. She’s getting frustrated seeing the relationships with the other girls and it’s making her doubt herself. Despite that she feels that she and Colton have a connection and she wants to feel that forever.

During their talk, Elyse didn’t feel herself back in Singapore. She just wants the time and attention for a relationship to thrive. Colton’s been there. He had to fight for Becca and then in BIP for Tia. She feels that she doesn’t know how to compete with other women. Colton assures her that it’s not about competing.

Then Elyse lets the cat out of the bag. It’s not about insecurities for her, but she needs adequate time. She can’t accept a proposal after a couple months with sharing her time. She won’t even know the guy that well. For her it’s not him... it’s the show’s format. She can’t give him what she wants to promise without knowing him so well.

As much as it kills the both of them to go their separate ways, Colton respects her decision to leave. The two share a hug. Elyse doesn’t want to leave him, but she cares about him and wants him to be happy, and she doesn’t feel like she can give that to him without that time.

Colton is even more distraught because as much as he can give to someone else, his fear is that he might not be enough for the one he ultimately chooses.

-

The morning after is... a mixed bag. Colton is still shaken from that transition from Heather’s first kiss to breaking up with Elyse. But love trucks on, and he continues with the group date, a trek through the Thai rainforests. Katie takes Elyse’s place.

They meet with Joe, a local survivalist expert, and the girls are taught survival skills. I mean it’s no Bear Gryllis, but it’s basic enough. For the girls, survival is about doing anything in their power to impress Colton. Tayshia holds a wild scorpion, Hannah swallows bugs whole, and a snake pees on Colton.

Then comes the real challenge. The girls are split into three teams to find food.
Team 1: The Hannah’s & Demi
Team 2: Sydney, Caelynn, Onyeka, Kirpa
Team 3: Tayshia, Nicole, Katie (with Colton)

The two teams do well with the Hunger Games challenge, but for Demi, it’s about thinking smarter. She takes her team to a local hotel bar. Meanwhile on Colton’s team, Tayshia plants one on him, which Nicole sees.

The end of the challenge nears and the Hannahs and Demi come last. However they give Colton some burgers and booze. HILARIOUS. Onyeka’s team ends up winning but Colton still wants a bite of the cheeseburger.

Demi really is Corinne 2.0.

The fight for survival continues over dinner, and Colton roasts to new adventures.

Group Date #1 One-On-Ones:
• Colton vents to Tayshia about how he felt going into the group date, and he wants to give that time and attention to everyone.
• Hannah B is willing to take the risks and fight for Colton. He tells her that she looked the part and he would partner with her in the zombie apocalypse. She then let’s out that she’s falling in love with him.

Meanwhile, Onyeka wants to rehash something Elyse told her about Nicole. And the first person she turns to is Demi? This is not gonna be good

• Onyeka tells him that Nicole said that she has been looking for an opportunity to leave Miami and The Bachelor is that outlet. Colton is upset because he fears that she’s not in it for the right reasons.
• So he goes straight to the horse’s mouth. He’s devastated to hear about this but Nicole tells him that she couldn’t find love.

Back with the girls... Tayshia tells her that there was a misunderstanding because she was there for Nicole’s conversation. So something was damaged during this game of telephone, and it was probably Elyse. And then Demi opens her mouth...

Of course it’s Demi! She’s a master manipulator! She’s hoping that playing with Elyse leaving will get her closer to the Rose! Except...

Group Date Rose #1: Hannah B.

Hannah’s excited but the other girls are pretty shaken by what happened. But the week isn’t over yet. Let’s see if Cassie has better luck.

-

One-On-One Date #2: Cassie
“I’m looking for love deeper than the sea.” - Colton

FINALLY. She and Heather are turning into clear favorites.

The duo take a boat ride and share a kiss. It’s so obvious that Colton is in love with Cassie. Their surprise is a little date on a small atoll away from society, which will probably be underwater at the rate sea levels are rising.

Back at home, the girls begin to talk about Cassie and Colton’s relationship and how smitten Colton looks around her. It just makes the girls want to try harder.

Back at the island, Colton is seen carrying Cassie out of the shallow waters. It’s steamy and exactly what you’d expect in The Bachelor.

One-On-One Date Dinner Highlights:
• They’re back at the hotel, and the two of them are feeling sparks.
• Colton being a virgin somewhat worries Cassie because she isn’t a virgin. It’s something that’s plagued her because she was raised in a somewhat conservative family and they may reserve judgement. Colton reassures her that she should feel comfortable about everything and no amount of $l*t-shaming can destroy that. It’s what he learned with all that judgement from him being a virgin.
• The two are in Colton’s bed, and Cassie shares that it feels like she’s known Colton for a long time. They cuddle and share a kiss. Colton tells her that he’s crazy for her. Okay... but where’s the Rose? It should be inevitable right now.

I’m just gonna assume she got the rose lol. It’s so obvious that he’s in love with her.

-

It’s cocktail party time! There’s tension and for once it’s not around Demi. This time it’s Onyeka and Nicole who are close to going at it. Kirpa gets a confessional- shocked! She’s been MIA for most of the season!

• Tayshia starts off the one-on-one’s with a small lantern festival. They light one together and make a wish.
• Demi gives Colton trust rings. For her it’s about communicating openly. Cute.
• Kirpa cleans his teeth. It’s only a three second flash.
• Another three second flash, and it’s for Hannah G. Another person who he’s crazy about.
• Nicole spends her time defending her character. Meanwhile Demi and Onyeka bring up what Elyse told the latter about Nicole. With Colton, Nicole ends up spilling that Onyeka has been bullying her. So what does he believe?

Gee, I can’t wait for Nicole to be painted as a racist on Tumblr! [/sarcasm]

• This time he steals Onyeka and spills that Nicole has felt bullied and that she told everyone that she’s mentally unstable.

Onyeka: “I have never told anyone that they are mentally unstable”
Also Onyeka: “Nicole’s literally a psycho.”

😂😂😂

This time Onyeka and Nicole confront each other. Onyeka thinks Nicole is doing this to make her look better. The girls are absolutely over it. The commotion ends up distracting Colton and Katie, so he confronts the two. They continue to hash it out and he storms off.

NO ROSE CEREMONY! They’re just gonna leave us hanging like that?

Posted by: La Vie En Code 12th February 2019, 06:08 AM

OMG after Cardboard Arie’s dry ass season we are being FED. This was the best Bachelor-adjacent episode yet.

THE BACHELOR SEASON 23 EPISODE 6: LOVE IS WAR

When we last left the girls, Onyeka and Nicole went at it and Colton left the girls hanging with an ominous atmosphere. No one is safe. Except those who already got roses. The girls are on edge after what just happened, and it would be interesting to see what the repercussions of this are. The only person to blame for all this is Demi. She baited Onyeka into starting a fight with Nicole and in the end they both went home.

So great. We get a Rose Ceremony after all.

Already with Roses: Hannah B., Heather, Cassie
1. Caelynn
2. Tayshia
3. Kirpa
4. Demi
5. Hannah G.
6. Katie
7. Sydney

Honestly I was expecting both Onyeka and Nicole to go after the blowout. After the last two episodes, they SCREAMED Bachelor In Paradise material.

Meanwhile, Colton is perplexed. He doesn’t want to become a doormat and have someone use him to get fame and all that jazz.

-

Colton and the girls cross the border into Vietnam. I am digging these international destinations this season. Demi asks around who didn’t get a one-on-one at the moment. Everyone but Cassie, the pageant queens, and Tayshia raise their hands.

One-On-One #1: Hannah G.
“We really need this date.” - Colton

FINALLY.

The date starts in a beautiful spa, fit with massages, purifying oils and facials, and banana leaf wraps. Honestly, after the previous night, Colton needs this.

It’s just one huge bottle of intimacy from there. There’s shots of them making out on the massage chair, in a mud bath, in the shower, you name it.

Meanwhile at the house... Caelynn wants to know more about Hannah because she feels that she has relied on her beauty for so long. She got the First Impression Rose, there’s gotta be something there.

One-on-One #1 Dinner Date Highlights:
• Colton is at ease with his connection wth Hannah. He feels that it’s natural and he’s excited for it.
• Hannah’s been uncomfortable with vulnerability: she’s always had to be strong and has shifted a lot of the bad memories, most notably her parent’s divorce.

And I mean... compartmentalizing them isn’t healthy, and Colton realizes that. He’ll be her knight in shining armor.

One-On-One Rose #1: Hannah G.

All of this is cute. That’s what it is.

-

Group Date:
1. Cassie
2. Heather
3. Tayshia
4. Caelynn
5. Katie
6. Hannah B.
7. Sydney
8. Demi
“Are you ready to fight for love?” - Colton.

KIRPA IS GETTING A ONE-ON-ONE! Meanwhile Sydney is distraught, as is Demi. Sydney wants to know where she stands because she hasn’t gotten an individual Rose, unlike Demi, who got the rose in Singapore.

-

The girls who haven’t gotten a one-on-one aren’t too thrilled but it’s all about fighting for love. The girls walk into Colton doing some mad martial arts skills. It was like watching Bloodsport taking place in the 21st century. Today the girls are training in Vovinam.

The girls get started in their training. Some like Hannah B pick up quick, while others like... Demi... struggle immensely. The big challenge is to spar with one another in a fight to the finish. Is the prize the next Rose?

Sydney vs. Heather: That was... something. I felt them trying but all we heard was Heather’s muffled screaming.
Hannah B. vs. Cassie: A much better fight. Hannah really went all out huh.
Demi vs. Katie: Those girls went OFF. There were a bunch of face shots and it was pretty uncomfortable. We end with Demi frustrated. Colton explains that this is a side of her they never experienced.

The girls head to dinner back home and we see Demi holding up a trophy. Weird. She’s relied on manipulation for most of the season, and she’s not used to a physical fight. Wonder if this will light a fire under her butt.

Group Date One-On-Ones:
• Tayshia doesn’t know exactly how to describe it but the day has been pretty hard for her. She’s a bit scared about putting herself out there since she’s been burned before. She wants Colton to have the same curiosity about their relationship. Of COURSE Colton understands. He’s basically feeling everything Becca felt. It’s just that the shoe is on his foot now and he’s bringing new baggage. I think that went well.
• Meanwhile Katie feels scared about where she stands with him. She doesn’t want to be misunderstood and she’s tried to mask them for a long time. She’s afraid of having those extremes getting taken away from her and that’s why she sounds very deadpan al the time. Then she starts breaking down because she thinks Colton believes she’s not trying enough. He’s beaming - he loves vulnerability and for him it delivers a new perspective when someone strips down their armor and shows themselves as they are.

Honestly what makes Colton such a great Bachelor is that you can tell that his empathy is genuine.

• His one-on-one with Hannah B is on the beach, and he loves how comfortable she was with the challenge. She’s done kickboxing at home, so she’s had some MMA skills.
• Now it’s Sydney. In a talking head, she explains that she’s the only person who hasn’t had as much attention as the other girls who were on the group date. She just wants clarity from Colton, who explains that he works at a different pace from everyone. Sydney wants to know if he can get there with her.
• For Demi, she’s not a fighter but is soft and sensitive, with lots of love and empathy. She offers Colton to join her in calling her mother for the first time since she was released from prison. It’s a pretty heartwarming talk. See, this is the side of Demi that I want to see.

• Sydney is still confused on where she stands with Colton. She feels that some people (Demi, Hannah) aren’t ready for a stable relationship and she wants to let Colton know that she needs that. She goes straight to him and tells him that she wants more. She also tells him that he’s made a lot of safe choices.

In the end, she tells him that she doesn’t think they can have what can be needed from a relationship because of what has conspired, and she decides that she’s rather leave that have to keep fighting to make Colton let her in.

In her last couple statements, she tells him to find someone precious and not to get distracted by shiny things. Colton’s left a bit shocked, considering how much she’s given up for this.

In the end the show must go on, and he has to give out a Rose.

Group Date Rose #1: Tayshia

The girls notice a change in mood in him. After Elyse last week and Sydney this week, he’s thinking that he has his work cut out for him.

-

One-On-One Date #2: Kirpa

Weird. No date description or cryptic message from Colton?

The two meet at a restaurant, and Colton seems more awake than usual. Kirpa is pretty sad that Sydney’s gone because they had been pretty close. Colton wants to make sure that he preserves those relationships that he has left.

I think Colton has realized that in order to be ready to be engaged, he needs to be engaged into the relationship. He loves Kirpa’s air of mystery and he really wants to know more about her and push the boundaries of their relationship.

One-On-One Date Dinner Highlights:
• That boat ride and deep sea dive was pretty nice. Wish they had showed it.
• It’s time for Kirpa to open up more, and Colton wants to know about her previous engagement. Her previous fiancé had been with a virgin for eight years and she wasn’t worried with Colton.
• For her it’s hard to have been engaged and having to break it off because they had already made a comfortable bond. Colton asks her if she would be open to saying yes to another engagement in the future, and she says yes. Colton loves her calm confidence and it’s something that makes him excited.

For Colton, it’s not about getting the ring, but it’s about how serious the relationship should be.

One-On-One Rose #2: Kirpa

Yaaaaaay! She’s not going home after all!

-

Demi decides during a rainstorm that she needs to make a huge move with Colton in order to jumpstart their relationship again. She then pines that he might not be a virgin when they leave Vietnam. Damn, all this because she didn’t get a one-on-one?

Demi wants to spill that with how much their relationship has progressed, she believes that she’s fallen for him and that she wants to have the time to keep falling.

Colton then responds that he’s heard everything but he doesn’t know if he sees her at the end of all of this, and he doesn’t know how he can put her through a Rose Ceremony after this.

I AM IN SHOCK. I thought she was going to be a shoo-in for hometowns! She has been one of the best villains in Bachelor history, and it’s been a wild ride seeing her manipulate her way through the season.

And we jump straight into the rose ceremony. Man he really ain’t playing this time huh?

Already with Roses: Hannah G., Tayshia, Kirpa
1.) Hannah B.
2.) Caelynn
3.) Cassie
4.) Heather

And it’s Katie who gets the boot. She tells him at the end that there are people still here who aren’t ready for what’s to come. And that’s the third person who has said this to him in the span of this episode. JESUS CHRIST COLTON. GET IT TOGETHER.

-

Coming this season: There’s a few shots of a mountain date, the last international destination before hometowns, and of course crazy drama. We also learn that Hannah B is the first contestant confirmed to meet Colton’s family. Could Colton lose his virginity before the season ends?

And the moment we have all been waiting for... the iconic fence jump. What will send Colton over the edge?

okay who the hell is gonna start all the drama now that Demi’s gone? Caelynn? One of the Hannah’s? Cassie?

I'm new to the Bachelor world since the show never aired in my country, let alone had a national adaptation, but I came across this video on my YT recomendations about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ur_IPr8-Bgs and I got interested in it. Not only I'm following the current Bachelor season but I've also have been searching and viewing as much of the previous seasons. What it attracted to me was not the heartstrings nor the drama, but rather how the production and the editing build up a narrative. When each season premieres, the producers know the outcome (who won, who caused most drama, who had a meltdown) and will then procede to create a story to engage the public, craft the drama to grab viewers and divide the contestants into frontrunners, villains, maybes/just friends and irrelevants.

For instance, you can see pretty much who will be the frontrunners on week one: they'll have nice music playing when they appear, a good job/background, the lead looks really impressed and will engage on the flirt and the editing will feature them on the right measure - enough to stand them out and make the public root for them but without turning them into obvious choices. Of course there have been exceptions (Courtney Robertson being the prime example) but they're few and far between. Usually if you come out in a crazy custom and there is funny music playing when you show up from the limo or have your first talk with the lead, you're not going far.

Here are some conclusions I've came up to:

- Bachelorette seasons have been better than the Bachelor seasons:
a) Bachelorettes have better track records: 3 of them are still married to their picks (Trista, Ashley, Desiree), 3 of them are still engaged to their picks (JoJo, Rachel, Becca). Plus Kaitlyn and Shawn's three years together is a lot in reality TV years. And I believe that Trista and Ryan's success story in the very first Bachelorette seasons was crucial to the franchise's longevity. Sean Lowe remains the only Bachelor who married his final pick and now there are more Bachelors who ended up marrying their runners-up. (Jason, Arie)
b) Bachelorettes don't backlash as much Bachelors when they become leads: sure Kaitlyn was slutshamed, Rachel got a lot of slack for not choosing Peter and several Bachelorettes ended up in a less favourable light than the ones they had in their Bachelor's seasons. But the male leads have backlashed harder: Jason Mesnick, Jake Pavelka and the two Bens were big fan favourites in their Bachelorette stints (even Juan Pablo was well-regarded!) but then ended up being hated/huge letdowns. There were no efforts to tone down Nick Viall's stamp as the $l*t Bachelor. Colton may be one of the rare Bachelors that may end up being better regarded than they were at the start.
c) The testosterone filled male fights on the Bachelorette are more entertaining than the catty drama of the Bachelor, IMO.
d) Bachelorettes don't screw up the final 2 etiquette: Jen Scheft is the only one who kind of did, whereas several bachelors either didn't propose to anyone or tossed their decision right away.
e) Even though their judgements may sometimes be clouded by lust, the Bachelorettes don't think with their crotch, at least when it matters the most. But there have been some Bachelors who clearly were thinking with two heads when they choose the final winner (Brad/Emily, Ben/Courtney, Ben/Lauren, Nick/Vanessa). Even Ali Fedotowsky, who admitted that she chose Roberto mostly out of lust, was not so obvious about it.

- Don't be a white knight
In every season of the franchise, there's always someone who headbutts with the villain(s) and warns the lead about them. It's a kiss of death as more often than not, even if they're totally right and well-intentioned about it, it will be taken as a sign that you're more dedicated to confront others than in the lead themselves and you won't get far. The frontrunners usually stay outside of the drama or are just involved on it in the final stretch. Examples are way too many.

- Sean Lowe is the unicorn Bachelor.
His season was truly unique, not only because he's the only one to date to ever getting married to the girl he chose on the show, but because he avoided all the curveballs. He was a nice guy without being boring, very attractive without being conceited, religious but still quite open-minded and not at preachy about it. Even his flaws, like being too gullible to Tierra's victim card plays, were entertaining. And I loved how he trolled the rules on week one and gave away 12 first impression roses. And since one of them went to Catherine, he's also the only Bachelor to give a first impression rose to his final pick (as opposed to six Bachelorettes, including the four last ones).
Likewise Catherine was an amazing contestant, sure of herself, drama-free, beautiful yet relatable and geeky, and I loved how the producers built their slowly but surely growing love story in the show. Easily my favorite season of the franchise.
Moreover, this season spawned another success story with Desiree being the following Bachelorette and then marrying Chris.

- The show plays us with ones who got away
Sometimes, especially on the Bachelorette seasons, the producers seem keen on picking this one contestant and portraying him in such an amazing light, that it seems they are the natural favourite and when the lead breaks up with them, it leaves the feeling that they are settling for second best. Sometimes, this trope is used mostly in order not to make the winner so obvious. The prime example of this was Peter on Rachel's season who was shown as having the deepest connection with Rachel, whereas Brian was being edited as a shallow Latin lover who was wooing her out of lust. Of course, time proved that the story was other IRL. Other cases are Brooks Forrester, Luke Pell and in a way, Becca Kuffrin.

- We all know the premise of the show is daft, but it still works.
Of course, it's super ludicrious to go on a show with the real expectation of finding true love on a TV show, where you compete with several other people, travel to exotic locations and end up getting engaged. (And let's not even talk about the crazypants ideas that the producers come up with for the dates!) And nowadays, you can hardly be blamed for wanting to go to the show to pursue goals other than "the right reasons". But even so, even if we know that most of this engagements will fall apart, sometimes even before the season finale is aired, it's still a compelling watch.
Plus there are a few success stories (10 at the moment, including Bachelor In Paradise) and we can take seven Jakes/Viennas or Bens/Courtneys, if we get one more Trista/Ryan or Sean/Catherine.

As for the current Colton Underwood season, I'm finding her very entertaining pretty much the best since Sean Lowe's. Not so much because of Colton (sometimes even in spite of Colton) but due to the overall package and good casting (Demi is iconic, Cassie and Hannah G. are endlessly swoonable, Caelynn's story was touching and the show dealt with it perfectly and Hannah Alabama is hilarious). And of course the latest male lead seasons have been letdowns (Juan Pablo is trash, Ben H was vanilla, Corinne pretty much made Nick's season, Chris's season was okay-ish and Arie was boring, then tainted by Lauren-gate). I will talk more in detail about my thoughts on the current season after the finale.

I’d say we had several contenders this season who qualify as the white knights: Courtney, Tracy, Onyeka, Nicole, Hannah B. to an extent

The other thing that I’ve been taking into account now with predictions is whether or not the edits make them seem like Bachelor In Paradise fodder. Like with Rachel’s season, I didn’t envision Peter going to Paradise but, did with the likes of Dean/Eric/Diggy. It’s those who have had significant plots revolves around them in the earlier stages yet make it to hometowns bc drama purposes. I drifted towards Cassie as my winner pick because my previous one (Hannah B.) seemed to have more drama revolved around her, which makes her and Caelynn prime choices for Paradise.

I remember last Monday after the episode when I was checking social media. Pretty much everyone is expecting Demi to rule Paradise. Time will tell if that’s true.

THE BACHELOR SEASON 23 EPISODE 7: THE NITTY GRITTY

SO MUCH DRAMA LAST WEEK. We still have a whole month left! How will the chaos affect Colton and the girls, and will there be a fence jump at last?

-

They’re heading back to Denver, which means it’s cold climate date time! A lot of the girls feel somewhat safe, but the departures of Sydney and Katie have brewed some concerns, and none of them don’t really know where Colton’s head is at.

Next week is hometowns. GEEZ. Ben Higgins comes by to give Colton some advice. Not necessarily the best person considering how many Bachelor spin-offs he’s been in. :’)

Colton then announces at a park with his dog that there are roses on every single date and that the current date is starting right now.

One-On-One #1: Tayshia

None of the girls seem too happy about that. Maybe it’s just the competition talking.

This entire date is a trip around Downtown Denver with his dog. Honestly I’m more into Viper than I am with the couple, especially during the ice cream session.

The two of them get Shirley Temples at a local restaurant and Colton vents to Tayshia about his problems. Sydney, Demi and Katie have warned him about people who aren’t ready, and goes straight to Tayshia for some answers. She recalls that there were some girls who don’t seem genuine - namely Cassie and Caelynn, who she thinks are already talking about the next Bachelorette. He reiterates a 10th time in the span of three weeks that his worst fear with being the Bachelor is that whoever ends up with the final rose by the end of this won’t reciprocate the love Colton is feeling.

They’re cooking for their dinner date! Cute.

One-on-One #1 Dinner Date Highlights:
• Colton had fun, yadda yadda yadda, and he wants to know if her family would be comfortable with them. Tayshia explains that her last breakup was hard on her family and her dad built a wall as a result.
• Colton explains that his philosophy is that he can’t propose without a father’s blessing.

The first golden ticket to hometowns goes to...

One-On-One Rose #1: Tayshia

Colton seems pumped up to meet her dad, and the date ends with her wearing his jersey. He explains that he’s falling for Tayshia and that he sees her at the end of this journey.

-

One-on-One Date #2: Caelynn
“Meet me in the Rockies.” - Colton.

Well this should be interesting. Now that Tayshia has supposedly spilled the beans, how will Caelynn react?

-

The American Rockies. Cold, rocky, and breathing feels like 20 pound weights on your heart. Yes that was an exaggeration. But will their conversations be exaggerated?

The two go snowboarding, and while they had fun, there’s still that lingering fear.

BAM. Colton drops the bomb. He reveals that Tayshia revealed that there were certain people who were already discussing the next Bachelorette season, and Caelynn’s name came up. She’s SHOOK. She explains that she sees a future with them, which only confuses Colton. He’s concerned on why someone would be lying and going up to him up front. HAVE YOU SEEN THE PAST SEASONS?!?! There’s always a white knight. Meanwhile Caelynn is furious that someone would slander her name like that.

Honestly these bachelors need to be put into sequester and watch previous seasons so they can see what they’re up against. Anything but Arie’s and Juan Pablo’s seasons would do. (And maybe Jason Mesnick as well)

Group Date One-On-Ones:
• Caelynn comes into the date confused and distraught because now that Colton has all these doubts, she feels that she’s going home tonight.
• Colton’s about to lose his mind. He wants to be ready and he wants the relationship to be ready. He can’t do that if he doesn’t know what to do.
• Caelynn wants to reiterate how much she loves him and sees a future for him, and it scares her that it could all be taken from her because of hearsay.
• Colton wants her to know that he wants to show her parents that he’ll be there for her and that whatever she went through only made her stronger.

Colton makes this grand speech about how he’s falling in love with her. Like OF COURSE she isn’t leaving!

One-On-One Date Rose #2: Caelynn

And that’s another rose for hometowns down. The date ends with a private concert by Brett Young.

-

One-On-One Date #3: Hannah B.
“Home is where the heart is.” - Colton.

WAIT A SEC. Is this where she meets his parents?

-

Meanwhile, Caelynn relays to Cassie that Tayshia told Colton that neither of them were ready for marriage. Ooh more drama. Tayshia explains that in her conversation with Katie and others, they came to a consensus that it was those two who weren’t ready. Caelynn feels blindsided, while Tayshia feels concerned for Colton. He looks to break down any second.

Yep. Hannah is meeting the parents for this one-on-one. This is a shock. They normally don’t do this until final 3. That makes me concerned. She’s really excited about meeting his family.

He discusses the show with his dad, and he vents to him about the previous week, along with Tayshia and Caelynn’s one-on-one’s. His dad tells him that he needs to trust his gut and that he shouldn’t second guess himself like he has been doing all season.

“At this point I’ve been doing a very good job at trusting my gut” yeah okay. You’ve been scared out of your mind since Elyse left.

One-On-One Date Dinner Highlights:
• They’re in an airplane hangar. That’s new.
• Hannah respects her family a lot and loved that she got to meet them.
• She has a ton of passion for this relationship but he’s scared about everything still.

Yeah. Colton just had to look in the mirror to see if he was ready rather than ask everyone else if they were ready. Hannah B. understands and she wouldn’t want that for herself.

So Hannah wasn’t confirmed for hometowns and was actually sent home. Colton is more distraught that she has opened up to him and was ready... but he wasn’t, and he felt that she didn’t deserve that.

-

Group Date:
1. Hannah G.
2. Kirpa
3. Cassie
4. Heather
“Saying goodbye isn’t always easy.” - Colton

There are four girls in this group date, and two more roses to give out for hometowns. There’s so much at stake. The five of them take a train ride and head for their location. Colton wants to be ready for them, but at the same time they should be ready for him.

Looks like we’re getting into one-on-ones right away.

Heather almost immediately tells him that she’s not ready to take him into his hometown and is ready to let him go. Colton sympathizes and respect her decision. One girl down, one left to go.

Now we get to Kirpa and Cassie’s conversation. Kirpa doesn’t feel that she’s ready after all the stuff with Katie.

During his one-on-one with Cassie, he’s worried about her commitment and if he does say goodbye to her, would he be ready for the blowback? He tells her the same story he told Caelynn, and Cassie takes it even harder. She really wants to bring him to his family. And that breaks Colton because he doesn’t want to see her upset.

Kirpa wants to tell him what Katie told her and echo her concerns. Apparently this stemmed from them getting defensive because of Colton’s speech. And that seemed fishy.

This leads to a fight between Cassie and Kirpa. The latter believes that Colton’s heart is on the line and that he trusts Katie enough to take this to heart. Cassie thinks she’s desperate.

Lol. Katie left and served us the rest of the drama this season.

-

There are two roses left to give out. But he wants to save them for the evening and resume their conversations from there. Ooh foreshadowing a cocktail party.

-

Okay, so it’s not a cocktail party. But it’s dinner and he wants to dive into this with more clarity than before. The first person up is Hannah. All they hear through the awkward silence is Hannah’s giggles. Colton walks through the door, grabs a rose, and disappears.

Group Date Rose #1: Hannah G.

So it’s between Kirpa and Cassie now.

Colton commends Kirpa for her candor and she’s glad that she trusts him. Meanwhile we see a silhouette walking to the door.

Nope. It’s just Caelynn walking up to the rooftop. She feels that this is a huge decision for him and continues to reiterate that she feels that everything said was all fabricated. Meanwhile the tension between the other two is so thick that you can cut through it with a knife.

Colton tells the two that he should trust his gut. And his gut tells him that the last rose goes to...

Group Date Rose #2: Cassie

Unfortunately it’s Kirpa who gets the Evan treatment. Not many parting words but she’s said all that she said.

So it’s Cassie, Caelynn, Tayshia and Hannah G. going to hometowns.

-

Next Week: Hometowns! Which means we’re getting closer to the final rose and the Women Tell All. I wonder what is going through their dads’ minds. Also no sign of a fence jump just yet.

Jared & Ashley sound off on the Caelynn/Cassie vs the house drama!

-

I personally don’t think it’s that deep. Caelynn and Cassie were getting pretty defensive during scenes of them together and the latter said “I hope my words don’t get twisted”. This means that there was a conversation going on, it just might not be the one Tayshia and Kirpa think it is or Katie misinterpreted and something went wrong during that game of telephone. There’s a lot of gossip that goes around in the house (it’s a reality show, duh), and a lot could have happened in between Sydney/Demi leaving and that rose ceremony in Vietnam. The problem is unlike Big Brother, there’s no way for us to know until the Women Tell All.

What leads me towards her side is that little conversation before Hannah B’s one-on-one and the fact that this isn’t the first time girls in the house have said something about Caelynn not being here for the right intentions. What leads me to go against Tayshia is the lack of evidence and the fact that at this point, Caelynn is the easiest target. Demi’s gone, and Hannah B didn’t even make it past that one-on-one despite editing making us believe that she’s not ready. Who’s the person left who has been in the most drama? Caelynn. I think Cassie’s intentions are clear and that she is very much in love with Colton, but I also don’t think she’s as ready as she seems. She’s currently in grad school and that takes so much focus since she’s a speech pathologist. They could get engaged but at the same time it might turn into a Rachel/Peter situation where reality hits faster than you might think.

The only outlier in this is Hannah G. She’s pretty much stayed in her own lane but has witnessed a lot of the drama unfold, from the pageant queens fighting to the Demi drama that seemed to involve half of the cast. While I don’t think that’s her personality type, at this point the season has taken the “white knight” theory and nuked it, so it won’t be long before Colton asks her about the drama and she cracks because “he appreciates honesty”.

In my opinion, the only person to blame for all of this is Colton. He’s made it clear that he wants someone who challenges him, is honest, and loves adventure. At the same time he’s made it clear that he’s not good at trusting his gut. He’s doing his best to listen (I mean who can blame him? He’s a very empathetic person), but at the same time he’s taking the gossip and the fights waaaay too much into heart, and he probably doesn’t want to be another Bachelor relationship fail. He knows something’s up but he’s way too scared to even act on it. Most of the girls who had that initiative are gone.

I’ve seen a comment that Hannah B. returns and meets Colton in his hotel since he’s going to Hannah G.’s hometown, drops a bomb on him, and that’s what causes the fence jump. There are three major scenes left that were shown on the super trailer but haven’t been aired yet: someone hugging Colton while he bawls (Tayshia probably?), one where Colton talks about how he puts himself out there and gets rejected, and of course, the fence jump, which immediately after cuts to Hannah B. saying “what just happened?” The only times she could have said that were during the pool party (she was too angry about Caelynn talking shit about her) and the rose ceremonies in Asia (but what she was wearing didn’t look like a cocktail party dress). So Hannah B. might be the missing link to what causes the fence jump.

THE BACHELOR SEASON 23 EPISODE 8: NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Four girls left. Which means it’s time for hometowns. Remember when Colton got rejected after hometowns? Oh well. It’s a new dawn, new day, new opportunity to jump the fence.

-

Caelynn’s Hometown: Fredericksburg, VA

??? I thought she was from North Carolina? So apparently their form of transportation is a horse drawn carriage, which is cute, but you can clearly see CARS. Colton wants a relationship that’s tender and one where he would want to start a family.

Colton asks about Caelynn’s family... just to be prepared. Her biological father isn’t a part of her life at all, and it’s mainly her mom and stepfather.

A couple hours later, next to the river from Bird Box...

Caelynn and Colton meet the family in a nice, large barbecue. It’s really cute to see stepdad John rave about how Caelynn changed him for the better. However, he’s still pretty hesitant about the whole “marriage” thing because Colton’s still meeting three other families (hello?! Have you WATCHED the show? You should at least have known what your step-daughter was getting into), and he wants to know if his intentions are sincere.

Caelynn’s sister also has those same reservations. During their talk, she queried that she told him about the incident and that revealing that helped build their relationship. Still nothing from her sister.

Mama Miller-Keyes talks to Colton for a bit, and he talks about their bond and what they went through (which is mostly last week). Meanwhile Caelynn and her stepdad have a heart to heart, and Papa John kinda misinterprets how she conveys the relationship. “It sounds like you guys are just friends” lol. She sweet talks him for a bit, and he starts tearing up.

Next up is stepdad John and Colton. Colton says that they said their “I love you”s but at the same time knows that there needs to be the time to help develop those relationships after the process. He then pops the question: will he have the blessing? John tells him to promise to build this marriage based on the foundation of love, and then gives their blessing.

More sentimental talking heads come out while they watch a slideshow of Caelynn’s life, and then it’s time to say their goodbyes to the family. Caelynn says that she’s confident that she’s in love with him, and the two share a kiss. Apparently it’s the talk with the family that helped spark things.

-

Hannah G.’s hometown: Birmingham, AL

Turns out both Hannah’s live in the same state. What does country Barbie have in store in one of the birthplaces of bigotry?

Honestly I’m glad that Hannah gets all this screentime to herself because it would give the audience a taste of her personality. In the spirit of southern hospitality, she has the brilliant idea for Colton to take an etiquette class. I feel like I’m in a way different world. The bread scene was bizarre. However, the best advice for Colton is to just be his normal awkward self.

And now it’s time to meet he parents with flowers. Hannah pines about how much her family’s approval means to her. If they approve of Colton, it’s just one step closer to fantasy suites.

She gets her cousins and friends together for some girl chat and advice. They’re all pretty excited and can find the chemistry, but they’re worried about the commitment. I mean, they know the show. They know fantasy suites are coming up and he could lose his virginity on that day.

Meanwhile, the Colton-to-dad talk is pretty tense. Once again, the dad doesn’t know about the process (or at least is somewhat aware but dad instincts take over). He pops the question, and Hannah’s dad is a bit shocked. However, he sees how happy they are together and gives him his blessing.

Meanwhile, Hannah and Mama Godwin get together and talk things out, and they’re cautiously optimistic about the whole ordeal. She tells Hannah to listen to her heart and her gut and to make sure that whatever she does, she’s prepared for what happens. Let’s see how much better she is at this than Colton...

The two of them talk about how exciting it was to meet the parents, and finally share their “I love you”s. Hannah’s ecstatic about how she shared her feelings and how great it was to get her family’s approval.

-

Tayshia’s hometown: Santa Ana, CA

Welcome to Orange County! Sunny, bright, and only 2-3 hours away from where I live! Tayshia talks about how their relationship is build on trust, so she blindfolds him to see if he trusts her. She takes him to an airplane hangar, and Colton’s eyes nearly jut out of their sockets.

SKYDIVING. There’s actually a skydiving center around 20 minutes from where I live. There’s a bit of scares (the zoom in on the sign that said “propellers rip off heads” was hilarious). Tayshia seems pretty excited, Colton feels like he’s gonna die. Well... the adrenaline rush really got to them and they share a kiss. Colton still can’t feel his legs.

After the date, the two of them talk about how they push each other to jump higher and face their fears. Tayshia wants him to feel comfortable because the worst was yet to come - she had only brought one guy home, and it was her ex-husband. So getting her parents’ approval means so much.

It’s time for Colton to face the music for a third time. He thinks her parents may be a bit apprehensive about Tayshia diving into another marriage but who knows? Papa Adams is especially hesitant since they have experienced a divorce, but Colton is confident in his feelings and gives the same speech he gave the last two times. Tayshia leaves with her mom, Colton leaves with Papa Adams, and her little brother is left sipping tea.

Tayshia’s parents are fearing the same thing: they don’t want to see their daughter get hurt again. Mama Adams is glad to see her daughter glowing. Meanwhile the father... he knows about the show and the ramifications of having to date 30 women in 6 weeks. He thinks the feelings might be going too fast because saying “I love you” at this point might not feel too insincere. What he’s looking for is if Tayshia were to ask if he loves somebody else, that Colton would give an honest answer. For him, marriage is very important and that he only wants to get engaged and married once. It’s about making a Sean Lowe success story.!Then he pops the question.

Papa Adams is a bit taken aback and wants to think about it for a second. Colton’s scared because he wants to marry Tayshia, but getting her father’s blessing is very important.

Tayshia and her dad have a heart to heart about Colton’s intentions and how the wounds of her past relationships affected the system. What her dad is scared of is that he’s not sincere enough and he might only be telling her what she wants to hear. She’s still willing to take the risk, since their relationship has been all about taking risks, and she’s confident in their love especially after such a hard time. Papa Adams felt more relieved that Tayshia’s happy after the conversation, and it was enough for him to say yes to giving Colton his blessing.

Colton’s more relieved because he knows he can move forward now with the blessing, and Tayshia is proud to see that he had managed to break down her family’s walls.

-

Cassie’s hometown: Huntington Beach, CA

Can’t spell Cassie without CA. The date starts off in the beach, and she’s ecstatic to see him. The two of them are going surfing for this date, and she’s giving lessons. Maybe it’s symbolic on how Colton’s scared if Cassie could ride the wave with him?

...Colton is not a surfer. It’s been wipeout after wipeout and I’m scared that he could hurt himself badly. After the date, he’s a bit skeptical about how Cassie feels because she’s the only person who hasn’t said the dreaded three words. Could he wipe out from this wave? We’ll just have to see.

The family meeting was full of screams with the father being reasonably intense. Papa Randolph thinks that he seems... nice. Decent. I’m guessing that the family is very aware of how the show works. When they’re asked about how they feel about each other, they get some broad answers. Colton knows how he feels, but he doesn’t know where he stands with Cassie.

Cassie is a bit scared about saying “I love you” and she doesn’t want to say it unless she’s sure that he’s the one. Her sister starts to cry and thinks that she doesn’t deserve anything less than “the one”.

Colton talks with her mom and she feels that there is so much chemistry with each other. He’s definitely sure about his feelings. He’s been sure about his feelings since Day 1. Colton’s aware that she hasn’t said it back but he wants to give her the time to think about it.

Cassie and her dad have a bit of a talk and while she pleads her case, he’s still wrapped around the fact that he’s still dating three other girls. He wants to know if Cassie is for sure going to choose him if he does choose her. He needs to let her know that they’re not rushing into things. I mean, she’s only 23. Papa Randolph is aware of the process (is literally everyone skeptical about something that has been going on for 23 seasons???) but he cares about his daughter’s happiness.

Colton pleads his case to Cassie’s father and that he sees a future with her. The first wave. He promises him that he can protect her and cherish her to the best of his ability and that he wants to be able to get down on one knee. The second wave. And then he pops the question. There’s the obligatory three seconds of awkward silence and then he wants to tell him that there needs to be more time to help develop that relationship.

A wipe-out.

Colton’s a bit disappointed that he didn’t get a firm yes, but he wants to get to Cassie if she has her shit together. She’s still not confident in sharing those “I love you”s but she doesn’t want this feeling to end. Colton’s gotten zero clarity in this post meeting.

-

Another rose ceremony is taking place. Still looking for any sign of fences.
• Hannah G feels good about her meeting but she’s aware about the other three hometowns. She’s done a pretty good job with staying in her own lane.
• Tayshia has been making long strides and is sure about her feelings.
• Caelynn finally told him that he loved her and she’s scared that this rose ceremony would be the decision if he reciprocates or not.
• Cassie’s in a tough spot. She didn’t really say how she felt back home and she doesn’t know where his head is at.

And then Colton comes in. He’s a nervous wreck (like every other week) and he hates that he has to say goodbye to someone he loves. But he has to follow his heart. It’s about time.

First to get a rose is... Hannah!
Next to get a rose is... Tayshia!

Two expected choices. It’s down to Caelynn and Cassie.

The last rose goes to...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

Cassie!

And it’s bye bye to the last other pageant queen. But not before a bit of a talk outside.

He’s a bit distraught with having to say goodbye to Caelynn. She’s sad and feeling like boo boo the fool for thinking that it was going to go all the way. She begins to sob into Colton’s arms. But man, what a way to go. She was shocked and blindsided by the entire thing, and most importantly she’s heartbroken.

Goodbye Caelynn, you will be missed. We’ll be ready to see you soon.

Colton needs to talk to Chris about something but let’s go to the bigger picture: Fantasy Suites are coming up. Could he lose his virginity then? We’ll see.

NEXT WEEK: On Monday, It’s Fantasy Suites time! He could be losing his virginity. But we’ll see what happens with the three then. It’s not like they’ll kiss and tell. And finally, it’s the moment we have all been waiting for: at long last, IT’S FENCE JUMP TIME.

And on Tuesday, it’s the Women Tell All. The rejects are back to spill the tea and dish the dirt. Will Onyeka and Nicole patch things up? How will Demi react to being called the best villain since Corinne Olympios? And will Hannah B’s teased talk with Colton be revealed?

Cassie
Pros: She's the one to whom Colton has been the most attracted to since pretty much the start, the biggest physical chemistry, exhudes the beautiful girl next door vibe, had the perfect winner editing (aka the Becca editing) until week 7
Cons: Too young/not mature enough to be engaged, her indecision on the last episode, not much shown as it should of a deeper emotional connection between them as one would expect by now, may have had other reasons to get in the show

Hannah G.
Pros: Great chemistry with Colton, got the first impression rose, stayed away from all the drama, seems to have good personality, seems mature enough for her age
Cons: For a frontrunner, the show has shown very little of her, we still do not know enough about personality or about her connection with Colton other than the making out as we should by now, Lauren B. editing.

Tayshia
Pros: We've seen more of Colton's not-just-physical connection with her than with the other two, mature, more life experienced
Cons: Sometimes they have this friend rather than lover vibe, out of Colton's dating comfort zone (Cassie and Hannah are safer choices for him), her tattling in week 7 was off-putting

I wonder if they cut out the Hannah B. footage of this episode because she's now being heavily tipped to become the next Bachelorette (whereas until now Caelynn has been edited on the show as the most likely one). Thus far she had been edited to look crazy/weird and Caelynn as the level-headed one that viewers should root for, but somehow the public is now responding better to Hannah B. than to Caelynn. So if the producers are now rolling with that tide, they had that footage cut out - which they were clearly intending to show- because it would probably make Hannah B.'s image look worse.

Hannah B is like Haleigh from BB20. The public seems to hate both of them but then love them by the end of their respective seasons. Meanwhile I stan both of them the entire time and laugh when the fans act like they're Boo Boo The Fool

THE BACHELOR SEASON 23 EPISODE 9: THE LAST STRAW

We just had Caelynn go home. Fantasy suites are coming up. And of course the fence jump. Will Colton snap?

-

After a lengthy talk with Chris (which was somewhat awkward, hmmm foreshadowing?) Colton talks to the girls about Fantasy Suites and their respective dates. He drops the bomb that they will be traveling to Portugal for this week, the last international date before the final two meet his family.

For Tayshia, their relationship has been about exploration and being daring. She thinks Fantasy Suites could be another step closer to exploring more of that.

For Cassie, it’s about feeling comfortable around him. However, during hometowns, she discovered that the waters were more murky than she expected. She hopes that whatever is planned for Fantasy Suites will help her get into the right head space to explore more of those feelings. But didn’t you just say you were sure about your relationship with Colton two weeks ago?

And finally Hannah. She got the first impression rose, it really boosted her confidence, and that’s what their relationship has been built on.

-

Tayshia’s Overnight Date:

She’s hopeful that this date will add to a list of firsts that they have experienced together. Colton promises that she should feel magical... which leads to his second helicopter date.

Colton talks about how impressed he was that he and Tayshia had such a strong connection from the beginning and that he was falling in love with her. Their helicopter trip ends at a castle-like villa on the edge of a cliff, and they have a little picnic by the ocean.

They talk about her hometown visit and how it meant so much that Tayshia’s dad gave Colton his blessing. She’s thankful that their relationship and the show has encouraged the both of them to travel to new places and try new things. Colton wants to put all expectations aside and is looking forward to that private time.

During dinner, it’s clear that the two of them are nervous. Colton has had reservations about a lot of things, especially intimacy, and exploring new things has helped him with gearing up for it. Tayshia reveals that she also waited until marriage to have sex and that honesty and communication should be key. She then reveals that her husband had an affair and that it’s shown her all those things. They share their appreciation of each other and then read their Fantasy Suite envelope. There’s not really much shown other than exploring the suite, popping a few bottles, and of course a make out session.

The morning after, the two of them revealed that they enjoyed the privacy. She reveals that they didn’t have sex, but it was having intimate moments beyond sex that were more important because it showed Colton’s vulnerability.

This is part of the reason why I love Colton as The Bachelor. He’s a prime example of why toxic masculinity in this age is fickle. There’s been this expectation that he’s a virgin and that he’ll lose that after Fantasy Suites, but there’s much more to him than his sex life. He’s vulnerable, sensitive and gentle, and he’s not afraid to show that to the world. He also provides so much insight into intimacy and attraction.

-

Cassie’s Overnight Date:

Colton pulls up in a nice sports car to pick up Cassie at their hotel. The two of them head up to Tavira for lunch but he keeps saying he “hopes” he can get there with Cassie. They have a nice lunch and go to some shops for souvenirs, then go out to experience the culture and landscape. In a talking head, Colton mentions that live is something that isn’t forced, and that spending time with Cassie has helped develop that type of love, even though she hasn’t heard those words yet. Cassie mentions that the relationship has been very easy and comfortable, but wishes that there was more time to help develop it.

It’s very clear that Cassie hasn’t been herself since hometowns. As in the Cassie that we saw defending herself to Kirpa two weeks ago isn’t the same Cassie we see now. They bring up hometowns and Colton mentions that he hopes that there’s more of an understanding between him and Cassie’s family. They both agreed that their talk with Papa Randolph was the hardest, and that commitment was brought up a lot. He then relays to Cassie that he didn’t get her father’s blessing, which Cassie is taken aback by. Her father told the both of them that there wasn’t enough time. Cassie is even more confused than ever. She trusts her family but she felt so sure before that she was falling in love with him before.

And... the first shock this episode comes. Cassie’s dad has flown all the way from Cali to Portugal to talk to her... and get some more insight on this relationship. Like how much is Cassie into him? Cassie tells him that her relationship with Colton needed more time but she also didn’t want that to be over. Her dad tells her to tell him how she really feels about the relationship and let the chips fall where they may.

Yeah. Like that’s gonna go well.

This night could end up being the most dramatic night in Bachelor history. Cassie prepares for dinner, as does Colton. Eagle-eyed viewers will spot the red scarf that he wears for the fence jump.

THAT’S RIGHT. THE FENCE JUMP IS HAPPENING THIS EPISODE.

They make a toast for this intimate dinner and it goes somewhat smoothly. Cassie mentions that she wants Colton to have the relationship he wants to have, and she’s not sure if she can give him what he wants. It’s just 30 minutes of how she’s confused. Colton asks if she came with the intent of leaving. She nods, thinking that she can’t get to where he is with her.

After storming out because she felt that she was second guessing herself, she’s become more confused than ever. He urges her to calm down and talk things out. One last ditch effort to help mend things. He tells her that it’s hard for him to go on dates with other women when she’s all he thinks about. She asks him if he had been sure about an engagement from the get go, and he reassures her that it’s okay to take time and there doesn’t need to be an engagement at the end of this. A second bomb. That’s something unprecedented in the Bachelor routine.

Cassie has been overthinking the entire thing and I think a lot of it comes from hometowns. Her family wants her to be happy. At the same time, she’s shown that she’s easily impressionable and that her dad may have caused a lot of that inner conflict and chaos.

As he continues to profess his love for her, he starts shaking. You can both see and hear the outpouring of emotion because he’s afraid of losing her because of inner conflict. It’s like all of his fears have finally come true. He’s willing to give her the time and space that she needs to help figure this out, and then she lets out that she can’t handle the time sensitive pressure the process has created. And thus, Cassie decides that she’s rather go than put her and Colton through more stress and turmoil than they already are. All they want is what’s best for each other. Cassie believes that she wants Colton to have someone who will reciprocate the love he will give. Right before they go their separate ways, she asks him if he’s mad, which he denies. Colton retreats back to his room, while Cassie talks about how she feels bad about how it went down.

And then, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. He shoves the cameraman, throws his mic out and starts walking out. One of the producers calls for Chris, who tries to urge Colton to come back. And then, take off.

Chris and the producers can’t really see much from the dark Portuguese countryside. They don’t know where he went nor do they know what’s gonna happen next.

We were FED, y’all, but that’s only the first course. Women Tell All write up coming soon!

Luke: He’s well spoken and he’s so smitten.
Dustin: lmao he went for the toast gag I’m SCREAMING. He did pretty well. She thinks he did much better in the toast.
Cam: HE RAPPED. I have a feeling he’s the Evan of this season.
Connor: HE MADE A STOOL FOR HANNAH SO THAT SHE CAN BE AS TALL AS HIM MY GOD
...another Luke?: Hannah B. feels Luke S.’s pain of another contestant with the same name. The “go down” joke was a bit weird. The two Lukes are probably gonna be great friends (brains & brawn)

And Chris is offering Hannah the opportunity to hand out a rose already tongue.gif I think they’re joking and they’re gonna give it to someone in the audience.

What I hated about this season

THE POOR EDITING OF THE FRONTRUNNERS
Usually in every season, you expect to see the contestants that early on are being portrayed as frontrunners to build a huge connection with the lead, so the viewers can ship their relationship. Yes, we see them in full PDA mode with the lead, but we also see them bonding, having deep conversations and so on. But with Cassie and Hannah G., I feel like we hadn't seen barely anything about their relationship with Colton other than the making out. And obviously there must have been so much more going on, if we got to this outcome where Colton is so lovestruck by Cassie that he sent the show's rules out of the window and where Hannah G. was left so heartbroken, that you could tell that she was still hurt even after all these months.
In Cassie's case, you know that this is the girl that Bachelor ends up choosing in the end, and all you show them is pretty much them making out on the beach? Not even a moment of strong bonding, not a splash of them establishing a connection beyond the kissing and flirting, when obviously there must have been much more to them. And even if like the most skeptical state, that she was never that into him, even her undecisiveness and cold feet could have been shown in a better way.
Hannah G.'s case is even worse when it came to editing as she does have a mature, well-rounded personality yet she was pretty much shown just being there looking pretty. And once again, so much more must have happened between her and Colton.
Tayshia was the only finalist whose relationship edit with Colton was more diverse, from them bonding over extreme experiences in their dates to her opening about her past marriage.

CONNOR LACKED MATURITY
I liked Colton as The Bachelor and I'll state what I liked about him later on, but he also had some flaws. I just think that he wasn't in the right place in his life that he was mature enough, let alone ready for marriage and when he said he was, it felt as he was talking himself into it. Plus, he was feeling the pressure of being a good Bachelor especially since the last two were polarizing (to say the least) choices and by trying too hard to live up to that pressure, that some of his true self was getting lost along the way until all came crashing down at the finale. At least, it all ended up in what is a better scenario for him: dating someone without being pressured by engagement.
He also lacked the maturity to handle better the drama, most of the time, he would just freak out about it instead of setting the record straight (which is something that usually Bachelorettes do much better than Bachelors).

COURTNEY AND ONYEKA
Not only they were both so annoying, these girls totally signed up for the wrong show, they should have applied for Big Brother or Bad Girls Club, and neither seemed to care a lot for Colton. And although Onyeka was insufferable, I don't side with Nicole as well, as she didn't do herself any favourites either in the situation.

EARLY DEPARTURES FROM WEEK 1 STANDOUTS
Catherine, the night 1 villain. Bri, the fake Australian accent. Erika McNutt with her bag of nuts, "the sound of da poliss" remark when Tracy arrived in a police car and her relief for not buying the same dress that Heather and other girl were wearing on the first night. And yet they all were gone on week 3, especially when we finally found something interesting about Catherine.

KIRPA'S EDITING TREATMENT
Other girl that the show's editing did dirt was Kirpa. I mean, in other seasons, they focused so much in dubious accents (Tierra, Kelsey) and she had a real accident you don't even bother to focus on that, leaving everybody wondering why the hell she has a band-aid on her chin? Not to mention that until then she pretty much getting unnoticed, and as it turned out she did have a relevant role in the season.

What I loved about this season

COLTON REDEFINING MASCULINITY
Nevermind his virginity, there were quite a few things about Colton that in this world plagued by toxic masculinity that would cause for his manliness to be questioned. Therefore, I loved how Colton wasn't fazed by all that questioning, and was comfortable with being himself without worrying about looking bad, silly, cringy or less manly. There's something powerful about someone like him doing that: proving that being virgin, oversensitive, scardycat and whatever is not mutually exclusive of being a man.
He was also a great sport handling all the jokes and running gags and, apart from a couple of cases, he acted as caring and compassionate to all the girls.

DEMI
She was more of a firestarter than an actual villain. Yes, she could be too aggressive, overboard and inconvenient, but she was never truly at wrong in wherever situation she was involved. Courtney and Tracy have much more themselves to blame. In fact, Demi was never fake and owned up to everything she did, right or wrong. And who would have thought that her breakup with Colton could be so heartbreaking? She'll definitely rule in Paradise.

CAELYNN'S SEXUAL ATTACK STORY WAS HANDED PERFECTLY
That story has shown exactly the way it should be: accurate, poignant and devoided of artificial drama and heartstrings. And you know how easily this could be tainted. Kudos to everybody involved in this: Caelynn, Colton, the production, the editing.

THE FENCE JUMP LIVED UP TO THE HYPE
It's easy for shows like this to make something dramatic much more important that actually us (a contestant getting medical treatment/having blood on their face, a contestant histerically crying like they were eliminated, a loud altercation between the contestants and/or with the lead) but this time, the fence jump was really the pivotal moment of the season.

What I'm looking forward to see on Hannah Brown's Bachelorette season:

- More of her athletic side: Hannah is known to be passionate about boxing and excelled at all the physical challenges of Colton's season, so I'm expecting to see several sporty/physical challenges for her and her suitors.
- More of her vulnerable side: I hope to see her talk about her imperfections, raising awareness that her problems are far more common than one would like to think and you just can't sweep under the rug or find a magical solution, it's a lifelong struggle. Like Colton, I hope she doesn't grip to an idea of what people expect her to be as a Bachelorette and get all pageant patty, but instead that we see the good, the bad, the ugly and the lovely about her - and that one of the guys see her throught that.
- Personal growth: starting with an awkward, nervous Hannah like we saw last night and gradually building more confidence, knowing that she is worthy of love by some in this range of guys.
- As well as a few guys that can be great matches for Hannah, I'm hoping to see hot guys that can be great hookup matches in Paradise for the other girls of Colton's season, especially Hannah G., Heather, Demi, Tayshia and Bri.
- Someone who is total Bachelor material, but not quite on the traditional way.

What I'm looking forward to see on Hannah Brown's Bachelorette season:

This is the one thing I’m scared about coming into the new Bachelorette cycle. A lot of the comments I’ve seen that are against production’s decision to put Hannah front and center is “she needs media training” or “it’s gonna be too awkward”, and she’ll let that get into her head before she goes into sequester to film the season. I think Hannah getting into her head has worked in her favor though. Since the Caelynn drama, we’ve gotten to see that insecure side that has come with pageant training, her more adventurous and daring side (when she ate the fish eyes in Singapore), and there’s more cabooses to the Hot Mess Express than we expected. She’s formed amazing friendships with Heather, Hannah G, and Demi (who’s become her biggest cheerleader since the show ended), so clearly there’s more to Hannah than one bad toast and the Caelynn drama. I mean, she’s had the biggest rise from the ashes since Grocery Store Joe.

I’m really hoping for another Peter/Jordan type Bachelorette contestant. Someone more wholesome rather than taking the piss all the time. I REALLY hope that’s Connor bc that’s who I’ve been stanning since last night. OOF. (I have a feeling he’s gonna end up racist tho and I’ll regret everything I’ve said up to this point lmao)

-

Overall Reactions:

There did seem to be more Paradise fodder than usual (Onyeka, Demi, Catherine, Courtney, Caelynn, Heather, the list goes on) up to the point where I was envisioning someone from a previous season becoming the Bachelorette (even after stanning Hannah Beast). Most of the front runners (the final three especially) didn’t really get much screen time bc they focused more on the feuds going on (pageant queens, Demi v. half the house, Onyeka v. Nicole) until the Katie bombshell, and even then Hannah G. pretty much stayed in her own lane throughout. A good call for her, but we never really got to see her personality shine through other than a constant make out sesh. At the same time, I don’t think Cassie or Hannah G. had an overreaching plot the same way Tayshia, Caelynn, etc. did, so I see why production didn’t focus more on them until they were involved in drama.

It was like production focused on future cycles rather than highlighting Colton’s story and the combination of editing and casting really showed. Colton lost his patience multiple times throughout the season and even walked out (fence jump), so therenhad to be a correlation somewhere.

Colton being the Bachelor worked more in the show’s favor than against it, and part of it is that the show hasn’t had that true Sean Lowe story since that season, and for a guy who was surrounded by toxic masculinity growing up, there was so much genuity in his presence and his actions. He and production handled Caelynn’s sexual assault story well, he respected the women’s decisions when they didn’t feel comfortable with the show’s process, he was everything you can ask for in a man, let alone the Bachelor.

Despite the issues, this has been the best Bachelor season yet, and the franchise as a whole is on the upside after Cardboard Arie’s season.

Something tells me that ABC wants to tease the viewers with a prospect of a new Ben Flajnik/Courtney Robertson outcome.

This season of the Bachelorette has been great so far. The cast has been spot on.

Here are few of my tidbit thoughts:

- Hannah has been amazing, she has grown so much.
- Luke P.: Mark Wahlberg in "Fear"
- Tyler C: coolest of cool
- Pilot Pete: boy got game
- Jed: until now, he has had the best overall edit. A lock for top 3, at least.
- I thought Grant and John Paul Jones would be super douches, but I'm really digging them.
- Cam: hot mess
- I really like Mike, he would be a great next Bachelor but he's falling to much into the White Knight trap.

I just watched my first Bachelorette (Claire/Tayshia) and my first Bachelor (Matt) seasons.
I question whether I would continue with the American franchise. They probably weren't the best seasons to be introduced to the franchise TBH.
Matt's season was just garbage. He was an awful Bachelor. I do however LOVE Michelle and happy she's getting her own season.
