Any news on its ITV2 airdate?

As far as my knowledge stretches, there has been no other details on it since this article a few months ago which says..

'In autumn 2015, Family Guy will move from its current home on BBC Three, with the channel soon to be moving online, to ITV2 alongside its sister shows including American Dad, The Cleveland Show and the new Bordertown.'

Considering it's past autumn and its still on BBC3 to date, I'd assume it'll be any time in the next few months as BBC3 was scheduled to stop airing in autumn and it still hasn't.

I would take a good guess at it being March/April when BBC Three stops airing. After all, what would BBC Three show late nights until then?

Posted by: mdh 10th January 2016, 10:51 PM

BBC3 is closing on the 16th of February.

I assume Family Guy will transfer from then.

That absolutely sucks.

Adverts, a spare ITV channel not designated for young people, and the national broadcaster losing the hottest comedy property on tv for young adults.

Great.

hottest comedy

LOLOL

hun this isn't 2004 anymore. it's half-lukewarm by that point

I'd say ITV 2 is designed for young people. Family Guy is made with having adverts in mind, it airs with adverts in America.

Posted by: Virginia's Walls 12th January 2016, 10:15 PM

Absolutely sucks. ITV is nowhere near as well-designed or demographic specific as 3. Everythin from 60 Seconds to when the channel went online to the programminf and style was for young adults. ITV2 is where ITV shunts its movies abd repears etc it doesn't want to show on ITV.

I agree.

ITV2 is not made for animations, I'd rather just watch repeats on FOX at 3am laugh.gif

at least its still on Freeview tho instead of being gone altogether

Posted by: lewistgreen 14th January 2016, 11:30 PM

ITV has just premiered an advert using ITV News presenter Mary Nightingale to confirm that the new series will start soon.

Posted by: mdh 16th February 2016, 08:24 AM

BBC has closed BBC3, and the Family Guy adverts all over ITV, so I assume it'll start airing soon biggrin.gif

Posted by: Martyn 16th February 2016, 09:17 AM

I think tonight.

Posted by: *Ben* 16th February 2016, 03:53 PM

Family Guy is my favourite comedy series right now. I can watch an episode even more than twice or three times biggrin.gif

The press release has since been removed but if it is accurate then the new series starts on ITV2 on February 29th at 10pm

Posted by: lewistgreen 15th October 2016, 12:12 AM

New series starts on Monday on ITV2 *.* loving that we're now only a couple of weeks behind the US whereas it was nearly a year before BBC Three would show it!

I take it back btw.

The move has been fine and they were right to close BBC3 ... in terms of having a hravily reduced Tory buget. It hasn't been THAT missed.

Airing the new FG almost at the same time as the US has been great.

I've been marathoning every single episode of this from Season 1 to 15 - SO worth it.

Posted by: Seinfeld 24th July 2017, 06:30 PM

Family Guy is awful in my opinion. The Simpsons and South Park are far superior in every way.

Posted by: MoistSummerFruit 24th July 2017, 06:39 PM

THE SIMPSONS?!

Simpsons is beige and hardly hard-hitting. Recent series just try to BE a weak watered-dow. 79p Asda Lemonade version of FG anyway.

Posted by: Seinfeld 24th July 2017, 06:47 PM

The Simpsons in its peak is unbeatable. It's a bit shite these days but I would still rather watch it than bloody Family Guy. sick2.gif

Posted by: MoistSummerFruit 24th July 2017, 06:55 PM

Family Guy is great IF!!! you get and like that style of humour. It is genius, but not for everyone ey.

Posted by: mdh 24th July 2017, 07:30 PM

Family Guy IS hilarious. The second funniest programme ever on TV, don't come for me on that.

Posted by: MoistSummerFruit 24th July 2017, 07:45 PM

Second??? What is first??? ohmy.gif

You clearly haven't seen that many comedy shows if you think Family Guy is the second funniest TV show ever... laugh.gif

Nah, I don't watch much TV tongue.gif (but there aren't many that suit my dry sense of humour so it'd be up there regardless, probably)

American Dad! > South Park > Family Guy > The Simpsons. All great shows though.

Posted by: MoistSummerFruit 24th July 2017, 09:22 PM

American Dad had its moments, bt is over the top and repetitive and docuses on pretty poor characterisation an jokes at times. It would feature at the bottom of most lists.

Family Guy/ South Park tie -- Futurama -- American Dad -- Simpsons -- Drawn Together

Posted by: mdh 24th July 2017, 09:29 PM

Bring back The Cleveland Show tbh </3

But Cleveland is back in Family Guy now with the whole family (not that they're ever utilised at all).

Posted by: MoistSummerFruit 25th July 2017, 05:19 PM

Of course they're not as their show was deeply boring and unpopular full of cast-off jokes not good enough for the main show.

Ooh Bob's Burgers too!

Without giving away the remaining positions in my "never get the time to finish it" top 50 sitcoms of all-time rundown, let's just say Simpsons, Futurama, Cleveland Show, family Guy and American dad are all fab.... (Simpsons long past it's peak now but I only count shows at their peak for my ratings)

Posted by: lewistscream 12th October 2018, 10:40 PM

New series starts 22nd October on ITV2
