Aaron Wan-Bissaka scored an own goal deep into injury time to hand France a 2-1 victory over England in the opening game of their European Under-21 Championship campaign after England were in the lead and then conceded an equaliser in the 89th minute.

England Under-21s are out of the European Championships after losing a six-goal thriller against Romania in Cesena, with all the goals coming in an 18-minute period at the end of the game. It finished 4-2.

If the FA have any common sense they should immediately remove Boothroyd from his post. He's been a liability with his coaching decisions, his substitutions against France were baffling. And to not start with Foden, Abraham and Nelson against Romania was a travesty.

England lead 3 times and threw the lead away 3 times in typical Aidy Boothroyd fashion.
