A lot happening in the charts this week, off the back of a surprisingly interesting week last week with Prince sadly passing and Beyonce seldom-surprise releasing her album 'Lemonade'. Beyonce's effect will still be in full force, meaning she'll probably manage to have a second week within the top 3 albums and may have a few of the songs charting within the top 40 too, 'Hold Up', seemingly being the most popular. But it's Drake who will most probably be the king on the album charts this week as he finally releases the hotly anticipated 'Views'. The other big news on the chart this week, is that 5 years on from their hugely popular global hit collaboration 'We Found Love', the two team up once again for 'This is What You Came For', which is set for the top 2, most likely, but will it manage to dethrone Drake and his monster streaming numbers? Breakdown of the week - Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted. - Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm. PLEASE NOTE - it is unlikely that we will have midweeks from OCC this week as it is a Bank Holiday. - Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one. - Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed. - Thursday: See Tuesday. Other notes (please read) - You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod). - Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue. - Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. - To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads. |

QUOTE Calvin and Rihanna are looking good for number 1, and Hold Up seems to be the people's choice of Beyoncé album track at 3 (for now). I will take the 'Looking good' with a pinch of salt, Mint, after all these years doesn't seem to realise his Saturday mids don't have any streaming. Someone asked him a couple of weeks back if 'Little Mix at almost #4' was including streaming and he said 'no way of knowing for sure, but probably' |

I always thought Saturday sales were downloads only from Friday but with streams from Friday not yet includes, you know cos Spotify is always one day late reporting, and thats why newies are always so high on Sat mids, cos it's basically only itunes data
thats why Little Mix were #4 and that's why Calvin/Rihanna look like a surefire #1 but Minty doesn't realise Drake will get 15K extra from yesterday streams and Calvin/Rihanna will get a bunch too but sure half of that This post has been edited by Bjork: 30th April 2016, 05:07 PM |

let's see how Calvin/Rihanna do on Spotify for the rest of the week, starting at 285K is incredible... of course Drake did 3 times more... but when Drake was released to Spotify he started quite low, then 2nd day went top 5, and then #1 but actually Calvin/Ri have started stronger...
but it all depends how Calvin/Ri progress on Spotify, if they got close to Drake or not... now they have a 25% lead on itunes but that's not enough |

As announced on Radio 1, there is no official chart update.
The write up on Radio 1 was just a template. |

Drake on course for Official Singles and Albums Chart double There is no stopping Drake - he's charging towards an Official Singles and Albums Chart double. In recent weeks, Drizzy has broken streaming records and snapped up his first Number 1 single as a lead artist with One Dance, and now it looks like he will top both the Official Singles and Albums Charts. One Dance featuring Wizkid and Kyla is leading the singles tally at the midweek stage, with 64,000 combined chart sales so far. Drake's fourth studio collection Views is also leading on the albums front, and is currently outselling Beyoncé's Lemonade by two copies to one. If Drake can hold onto pole positions on both charts, he'll be the first to bag a chart double since Sam Smith in March 2015 with Lay Me Down and In The Lonely Hour. A major new entry from Calvin Harris and Rihanna sits at Number 2 - This Is What You Came For will be Rihanna's 28th Top 10 single and Calvin's 20th. Beyoncé's Lemonade continues to quench the UK's thirst too - Yoncé has 7 tracks in the Top 40, one more than last week's chart. Daddy Lessons is the new inclusion, with her other six songs all heading for new peaks within the Top 40. Queen Bey's tracks within the top flight are Hold Up (5), Formation (16), Sorry (19), 6 Inch (25), Don't Hurt Yourself (26), Daddy Lessons (31) and Freedom (32). Meanwhile DJ Snake, Little Mix and Disturbed all continue their ascents up the Official Singles Chart with Middle, Hair and Sound of Silence. They climb to 11, 12 and 17 respectively. Over on the Official Albums Chart, with the exception of Drake, three other newbies are on course to enter the Top 10. Billy Ocean's Here You Are - The Best Of is at 4, Travis' Everything At Once is at 5 and Tremonti's Dust is at 10. |
