Chris Evans has been confirmed as the new lead presenter from next series.

He's signed a three year deal, which seems a bit ambitious considering the show could well flop with a new line-up of presenters.

What a load of cunty bollocksy BULLSHIT that is. manson.gif

Chris Evans has the personality of a squashed snail. Good god no. BBC have just destroyed the Top Gear brand and the multi million pound good will it has built up in a single move.

Chris Evans is a reasonable enthusiastic choice of presenter, a legion of radio fans, and he's nice to guests, says nice things generally and is not a right-wing callous pompous posh planet-hating punching insulting twat. So yay for that then.... teresa.gif

word is there will be one, he's not changing the format much, and as a big mate of the big three I wouldnt be surprised to see any of them as guests after a suitable length of time to get his style established...

Interesting that Clarkson might have returned after a year or so if May and Hammond stayed on.

I think Chris is a sensible choice out of those who were rumoured but, if this is still to be a success, a lot will depend on the chemistry with the other two presenters. Funny that the breakfast DJs on Radio 1 and 2 secured major TV jobs in the same week. laugh.gif

Well the last Top Gear with the Clarkson/May/Hammond trio airs tonight, will anyone be watching?

There's also heavy rumours that the trio will be presenting a similar car show on Netflix.

The Telegraph reports that German racing driver Sabine Schmitz and motoring journalist Chris Harris will be joining the series as presenters. The Sun has also reported that, former F1 driver and presenter, David Coulthard will also be a new addition.

BBC Two have tweeted that Matt Le Blanc (Joey from Friends) is apparently joining Chris Evans? Not sure if this is serious or not laugh.gif

Looking at his Twitter it seems it is true! Very unexpected and bizarre choice.

Well he has been working quite a lot in a BBC sitcom which totally takes the piss out of Matt Le Blanc the actor, so I can see it working and having international appeal to boot. Never under-estimate Chris Evans power to organise a hit.. cheer.gif

ohmy.gif Now that is unexpected! If anything, it increases my interest to see whether Top Gear will work or not.

Lol what a MESS.

Glad to see Sabine in there but I doubt she alone can save this car crash.

All the bad press reminds me of James Bond Daniel Craig.

"OMG worst bond EVER?"

"FANS REVOLT!!!"

"Daniel Craig knocked out by HENCHMAN!!" OMG it was a HENCHMAN not the main VILLAIN!! Errr yes? A henchman in rl is bigger, stronger and any man can do that?

Theen the movie came out and OMG SOOO GOOD!! WOW!!! OMG!!!! BEST BOND EVA??

The press always does this. Over. The. Top.

Well I'm looking forward to watching Top Gear for a change. I always used to leave the room when Clarkson was on and do something meaningful like giving the cat's eating bowls a good clean.
