BuzzJack Music Forum _ Girls Aloud _ Girls Aloud: BUZZCHART 2015 - Results

Posted by: JosephO'Meara 14th May 2015, 01:31 PM

You've voted and now it's time for the result! Shock winner of the GA Buzzchart I think, and it's quite tight around the low top 10, so some interesting results lie ahead.

No real losses there, quite partial to 'Why Do It?' and 'It's Your Dynamite' though.

Posted by: JosephO'Meara 14th May 2015, 02:02 PM

Boogie Down Love totally passed me by when I did my Buzzchart drama.gif As did Enough Is Never Enough!

Posted by: THEO. 14th May 2015, 03:22 PM

Bless Kimberley. At least Cheryl can say that they're four albums' worth of rejects.

Every released Nicola song making it wub.gif

Posted by: Slick 15th May 2015, 05:01 PM

Looking forward to these results.

That's a very good list of bad Girls Aloud songs so not too fussed/surprised that they've missed out.

Posted by: Slick 15th May 2015, 05:02 PM

Although actually, I used to really like All I Need (All I Don't), but I didn't vote for it, so yeah.

Posted by: ♡ Heezus Froot ♡ 15th May 2015, 05:31 PM

All I Need / Blow Your Cover / It's Your Dynamite / Racy Lacey are all good, really. Just not as good as the songs that made it.

Posted by: DJHazey 16th May 2015, 02:19 AM

Wait. Beautiful Cause You Love Me got points? heehee.gif

Posted by: ♡ Heezus Froot ♡ 16th May 2015, 05:39 AM

Is the subtitle hinting at a Lucky Day win? HOPE SO.

Posted by: Slick 16th May 2015, 12:03 PM

If a Nicola track wins over the many infinitely better Girls Aloud songs coming up, I shall be outraged.

Posted by: JosephO'Meara 16th May 2015, 12:44 PM

There are two buzzcharts! One for GA songs and one for solo songs, so you have no need to worry biggrin.gif

Posted by: Slick 16th May 2015, 01:05 PM

Oh that makes sense. Very good.

71 15 Cheryl - Amnesia - 71-
71 15 Cheryl - Boy Like You (feat. will.i.am) - 59-71-
71 15 Nadine - Chained - 56-71-
74 14 Cheryl - Better to Lie (feat. August Rigo) - 65-74-
74 14 Cheryl - Heaven (feat. will.i.am) - 74-
76 13 Cheryl - Live Life Now - 76-
77 12 Cheryl - Throwback - 77-
78 11 Kimberley - Like U Like (Aggro Santos feat. Kimberley Walsh) - 11-78-
79 08 Cheryl - Boys Lie - 66-79-
80 07 Cheryl - Yellow Love - 80-
81 01 Kimberley - Defying Gravity - 29-81-
82 -2 Kimberley - One Vision (Alfie Boe & Kimberley Walsh) - 82-

So we'll be visiting the solo chart first, counting right down to #1 before we move onto Girls Aloud. The only song to be on a negative score throughout the whole thing, my -2 for One Vision puts it in a firm last place. Terrible song. Defying Gravity is one of three Kimberley lead artist tracks to appear, with two further tracks to come. On the subject of Kimberley, Like U Like becomes the biggest faller of the solo buzzchart, catapulting 67 places down the chart from last year! Some Cheryl new entries, both old and new, with a Nadine thrown in for good measure. Chained should be higher imo cry.gif

SOLO

61 25 Nadine - Rumors - 68-61-
62 24 Nadine - Raw - 62-
63 23 Cheryl - All Is Fair - 63-
63 23 Cheryl - Fight On - 63-
63 23 Cheryl - Heartbreaker (will.i.am feat. Cheryl) - 12-63-
63 23 Cheryl - Raindrops - 54-63-
67 22 Cheryl - Didn't I - 56-67-
68 19 Cheryl - One Thousand - 67-68-
69 18 Cheryl - Craziest Things (feat. will.i.am) - 58-69-
70 17 Nicola - Fix Me - 41-70-

Another section with mostly Cheryl songs (no shock as she has considerably more songs than the others!). Nicola's first track drops out, with only me giving points to the wonderful Fix Me drama.gif Two Nadine tracks appear at the top of the section too, one in the form of new entry Raw, as well as a climber from last year, Rumors. Cheryl also has two new entries in this section, including the another Only Human album track, and an A Million Lights track that didn't appear last year. In the middle, will.i.am#s Heartbreaker drops 51 places down to #63 ohmy.gif

Posted by: AdamAloud 19th May 2015, 01:21 PM

No real losses thus far, I'm amazed 'Heartbreaker' did so well last year ohmy.gif

Oh yes, apologies! This totally slipped my mind ph34r.gif

SOLO

51 46 Nadine - Lullaby - 50-51-
52 44 Cheryl - Last One Standing - 70-52-
53 39 Nicola - Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime - 59-53-
53 39 Cheryl - Everyone (feat. Dizzee Rascal) - 44-53-
53 39 Cheryl - I Like It - 53-
53 39 Cheryl - Let's Get Down (feat. will.i.am) - 53-
57 37 Cheryl - Firecracker - 57-
58 33 Nadine - My Sexy Love Affair - 48-58-
59 32 Cheryl - Love Killer - 50-59-
60 27 Kimberley - Falling Slowly (feat. Ronan Keating) - 60-

A few more new entries in this section, including a Kimberley album track, one of just three! The Ronan Keating duet, Falling Slowly, only just makes the top 60. Cheryl's Only Human deluxe track, Firecracker, is new at #57, followed by A Million Lights super deluxe bonus track I Like It entering at joint 53rd. Nadine's My Sexy Love Affair also drops out way too low in this section, one of my favourites by her cry.gif And finally, the first Nicola album track is lost! Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime is at #53. She still has 11 album tracks and 2 b-side in the running.

46 54 Sarah - Too Bad - 30-46-
49 51 Cheryl - Happy Tears - 55-49-
50 47 Nadine - Runnin' - 28-50-

Another couple of new entries from Cheryl's recent album in the form of All in One Night and It's About Time, both new entries to the top 50! Must admit, I expected the latter to be a bit higher. 5 tracks from Only Human still remain. Nicola loses a couple of tracks, including her solo version of the Girls Aloud b-side Memory of You! Too Bad also presents us with the first of two Sarah entries in the buzzchart, with Real Wild Child still to come.

40 65 Nicola - Fish Out of Water - 61-40-

A huge section now to get us up to the top 20, a bit more variety in the songs dropping out now (ie. not 90% Cheryl lol). Under the Sun is the first of two top 10 dropouts, down 18 places on last year's position! Nadine's Sweetest High also drops out, as well as the last remaining Sarah and Kimberley tracks.

19 151 Nadine - Put Your Hands Up - 21-19-
20 149 Cheryl - Stand Up - 24-20-

Final section before the top 10 now! The second of two top 10 drop-outs is revealed as The Flood, falling 6 spots to #14. Crazy Stupid Love enters at #11, a respectable position really considering how low it came in the Only Human rate! Ghetto Baby climbs a whopping 22 places to #13, with Rain On Me being perhaps surprisingly close to the top 10? It's the highest non-single anyway ohmy.gif

YOUR TOP 10:

Cheryl - 3 Words (feat. will.i.am)
Cheryl - Call My Name
Cheryl - Fight For This Love
Cheryl - I Don't Care
Cheryl - Only Human
Cheryl - Parachute
Cheryl - Promise This
Nadine - Insatiable
Nicola - Beat of My Drum
Nicola - Lucky Day

Posted by: JosephStyles 7th June 2015, 09:00 PM

SOLO

9 262 Cheryl - Parachute - 4-9-
10 238 Cheryl - Only Human - 10-

Time for the first of our two new entries now! Only Human was the third single from the album of the same name and is Cheryl's lowest charting and selling single to date. Poor cow. Parachute fared much better on the other hand, becoming a top 5 hit. Here, it slumps 5 places but still remains safely in the top 10.

Posted by: JosephStyles 9th June 2015, 02:05 PM

SOLO

7 290 Cheryl - I Don't Care - 7-
8 272 Nicola - Lucky Day - 10-8-

Climbing two places is Nicola's second single, Lucky Day. Nicola has just one song left in the countdown, last year's winner Beat of My Drum, can she top the chart again? The highest new entry is at #7 and comes from Cheryl's record-breaking #1 single. I Don't Care shot straight to the top last November and gave Cheryl her 5th #1, more than any British female in chart history.

Posted by: Slick 9th June 2015, 05:27 PM

It is outrageous that 'Only Human' made it that high.

Posted by: JosephStyles 20th June 2015, 02:25 PM

I AM DETERMINED TO FINISH THIS SOON.

SOLO

5 321 Cheryl - 3 Words (feat. will.i.am) - 9-5-
6 308 Nadine - Insatiable - 6-6-

Nadine's highest entry just missed the top 5 for a second year running, with Insatiable sticking at #6! The track is 13 places higher than Nadine's second highest entry, Put Your Hands Up, with over double its points. Cheryl's 3 Words remains a fairly marmite song amongst fans, with some hating it and some loving it. Seems most of the participants were fans this year as it climbs four places to the top 5!

Still in the running:

BEAT OF MY DRUM
CALL MY NAME
FIGHT FOR THIS LOVE
PROMISE THIS

Posted by: AdamAloud 20th June 2015, 02:42 PM

I'm happy so long as 'Fight For This Love' doesn't win.

Call My Name & Beat of My Drum for top 2.

Posted by: Jade 20th June 2015, 07:48 PM

'Fight For This Love' to win. heart.gif

SOLO

3 382 Cheryl - Fight For This Love - 3-3-
4 355 Cheryl - Promise This - 7-4-

Promise This climbs into the top 5, reaching a new peak of #4! It's not enough to unseat Cheryl's debut single from its top 3 spot though, as Fight For This Love, a million-seller in the UK, sticks at #3 for a second year running.

This means we have the same top two as last year, but will Beat of My Drum defeat Call My Name again? ohmy.gif

Posted by: AdamAloud 25th June 2015, 01:53 PM

I've a preference of 'Call My Name' but both are fabulous so a great top 2 *.*

Who rates 'Intro' above such classics as 'Real Life' and 'Androgynous Girls'??

I like the 2 songs mentioned, but that was me. I can give you a longer list of other fan favourites and well known songs that didn't make my top 40, in case you want to be shocked biggrin.gif
I'm also responsible for most of the new entries (so far) as well, and I'm fully aware that my taste in music is not the usual here, but it wouldn't be such fun if we all voted for the same stuff.

On the other hand, I'm very happy that Beat Of My Drum topped the solo chart (although it wasn't my top choice, but I never expected the majority to agree with me, as noted above). It's not a big surprise after last year's result, but the difference of 82 points is quite remarkable.

Intro is amazing tbh *.*

A bit disappointed that 'Call My Name' didn't get the #1 position here but never mind! sob.gif

A big faller in this section from Here We Go, which falls a massive 30 places down to #66 drama.gif New entries come from Stop, Sex Fix Me Up and Hanging On the Telephone. I'm shocked Fix Me Up missed out last year actually, I really like the track!

57 36 I Say a Prayer For You - 50-57-
60 30 I'm Falling - 60-60-

The first Tangled Up track is lost in this section, with I'm Falling being a non-mover at #60! Two Tangled Up b-sides are also lost in this section, with Hoxton Heroes and Dog Without a Bone falling out of the running. Blow Your Cover and the two Live Lounge covers failed to pick up any points, so it's the 11 remaining tracks from the album itself still left. Teenage Dirtbag is the only new entry in this section, and charts despite only being a live track (it's eligible because it was included as a b-side)! One new entry is still to come.

We now lose our first few singles! See the Day is the lowest this year at #49, which is lower than Walk This Way was last year when it was the lowest single. Walk This Way manages to climb one place this year but still won't crack the top 40. Apologies for the delay since the last set of results, my external hard drive had some difficulties which meant I had to spend 2 days retrieving files! It's all fixed and back to normal now thankfully.

Two more singles drop out here, including Whole Lotta History, which drops 17 places to #35 drama.gif It should be CLIMBING guys!!! I Think We're Alone Now also drops out, falling 4 places. Nobody But You is the highest new entry to feature in the countdown!

A slight disappointment that we have an all-singles top 10, but it seems like those are the tracks most of us agree on (I never expected my own non-single top 10 choices to chart too high, especially after the boot & immune series), and each of the remaining 10 made my list (of 40), so it's partly my fault as well.

09 346 The Promise - 10-9-
10 334 Love Machine - 11-10-

Two tracks climbing one place each now, as Love Machine gets a well deserved top 10 place that it couldn't manage last year. The Promise is the girls' second biggest hit but is "only" 9th on this countdown, still respectable and it's not the lowest Out of Control single this year.

Two GA classics. Add 'Sound of the Underground' and that's probably their Top 3 most-known songs.

7 401 No Good Advice - 8-7-
8 390 Something Kinda Ooooh - 12-8-

Something Kinda Ooooh finally manages a top 10 position after missing out last year, which was a huge injustice I think! The track manages a top 3 peak in the chart for the girls, their first since I'll Stand By You at the time, and charted top 5 the week before based on downloads alone. Climbing one place to #7 is No Good Advice, the second single released by the group and their first following their Popstars: The Rivals win, claiming the Christmas #1 with Sound of the Underground.

'Something Kinda Ooh' is deservedly one of their best sellers; huge hook and just Xenomania at their best.

'No Good Advice' is great, always thought Nadine stole the show and love the verses more so than the chorus. Probably not in my Top 10 though.

GIRLS ALOUD

3 449 The Show - 3-3-
4 445 Sound of the Underground - 6-4-

Very close together now, we have two lead singles from the girls. Sound of the Underground remains their biggest hit in the charts and spent four weeks at #1 in 2002/2003, selling over 600k copies and being their only platinum-certified hit. It climbs two places to #4 this year, but fails to unseat The Show from its #3 position. The Show reached #2 in the charts as the first single from What Will the Neighbours Say? and often seems to get overlooked in favour of some of their bigger hits but it manages a very respectable position of #3 for a second year running!
