The trailer for the new series of BGT has been released today, after Colin Thackery's win last year. My guess is that it will start on April 11th!
Excitement! Who knows how far we'll actually get into this with coronavirus being a thing but looks like we've got the auditions at least.
This should help boost their Autumn Saturday night ratings at least
Well the ratings will be higher than the disappointment that was the Champions spin-off.
ITV statement on it today:
"The Britain's Got Talent audition shows will broadcast on ITV in the next few weeks.
We have been working with the brilliant production teams at Thames and Syco to find a way of making the live finals work, which were due to be broadcast at the end of May. However, in light of the latest government health guidelines and in line with our priority of safeguarding the well-being of everyone involved in our programmes, production of the live shows cannot go ahead as planned. The live finals will therefore be broadcast later in the year."
Starts on April 11th at 8pm.
I hope with the champions edition and all the international acts it can generate some inspiration this series, getting a bit dry really.
Instead of BGMT, 'Britain's Got Talent: Unseen' will be on the ITV Hub straight after the main show.

Interesting development there
I'm inclined to agree with you on that front.
Well since it's starting tonight I might as well plug the https://bgt.fandom.com/wiki/Home (founded by myself), contributions/discussions are very much encouraged
Brilliant site Pete!
The comments on this classic act are golden - https://bgt.fandom.com/wiki/The_Singing_Souls
Cheers Whoddy! People's obsession with The Singing Souls is mad, the edit history is almost as bad as the comments
Interestingly enough they're the fourth most popular page weekly, behind Woody & Kleiny (a random football act who made a brief appearance on Series 3 but apparently are quite famous now), Jade Scott (Calum Scott's sister ) and the homepage... some very strange choices.
I forgot how much this show annoys me with all its cliches and sob stories.
Nice to see an advert for Sam Fischer in the ad break!
One thing I will say is that I'm REALLY not a fan of the 'slow-motion' feature they've introduces - it's an audition, not The Matrix. The various Gogglebox / between-acts sketches aren't my thing either, just show us the auditions.
I think my favourite from that bunch was Jakub but I feel like he'll be one of those kids that mysteriously disappears between the auditions and the semi-finals...
Fantastic opener. This is a show I really don't think about until it's on and then I instantly fall in love with it again. Sign Along With Us and the magician with his kids were the highlights tonight.
I'd like the show a lot more if they stopped with the audience making comments between/during acts.
Other than that it was an alright show, *very* cliched and predictable though.
Just catching up on this, Jakub was really good and very adorable
I have to get this off my chest now - John Courtenay is the cringiest thing I have seen on this show in a LONG time. Really didn't need that Golden Buzzer!
With the exception of that this was actually a good show! Certainly better than the first one I think, I really enjoyed the choir, Beth & James.
Helloooo to the ginger unicyclist!
Beth Porch is already #2
Yep the unicyclist was my favourite too, wow!
I actually quite liked John Courtenay! Overall it was certainly a much stronger show than last week.
BGT Unseen on the ITV Hub is surprisingly good - lots of acts that should've been on the main show instead of others tbh!
The youth primary school So Solid Crew and Big Brovaz group about bullying without the swearing goes through.
Really liked the science guy! Something a bit different at least.
We really didn't need that last act. Really loved the scary dance troupe though!
And apparently I live within about an hour's walk of that school but never heard of it before
I love the last act haha, still stuck in my head!
I thought the scary act were alright, but we seem to get an act like that every year now.
Bhim Niroula released 'Sunday Morning Love You' 6 years ago!
That last act was appalling and how he got through is stupid. He’s probably on the live shows too as they tend to put a diabolical act on each semi final.
He’s usually the type of person who gets David’s buzzer
Donchez did come third with a similar act in 2018!
I’m hoping he comes nowhere near third and performs the way that Lorraine woman did who sang the song about crumble.
I wonder what type of act they’ll push for the win this series.
Last year we had a singer and an old one too. So I’m feeling like they could be more of a push on other kinds of acts.
It’s been a while since we got a dance act to win.
I wonder how covid could affect the international acts though like the dance group from India if there’s stlll travel restrictions when they show the semi final.
I do think the nurse connection with everything going on obviously + the single will help Beth Porch a lot.
Have to say I'm loving the continued relevance for Lukas Graham's 'Take The World By Storm'
Their story is very sad, but that mother and daughter's performance was dreadful :/
Then again, you can't really trust Holden.
This has got to be the biggest story bait to be on the show
Birds of Paradise was actually my favourite act from tonight
Magical Bones was pretty good as well but also some not-so-great acts, nice message from the kids but it didn't stop me from cringing.
PS. I can see Nora winning the whole thing!
Nora was cute and all that but we’ve already had practically the same act win the show last year.
Magical Bones was definitely my favourite of the night but tonight’s show for me was the strongest and most diverse yet of this series so far.
I think buzzers wise this series could be one where none do especially well bar David’s I’d say so far.
Nora will be lucky to go outside in 2020 so I don’t expect to see her appear if the semi finals go ahead.
On second thought I'm now wondering whether Nora will make the semi-finals - it's occured to me that they might only have shown her audition as a 'contrast' for SOS From the Kids, who were the act they gave all the attention to (plus of course the fact she's the oldest ever auditionee). She could be one of those acts that 'disappears' between the auditions and the semis.
I think SOS will disappear between now and the semis - they already have quite a lot of choirs this year and I'm not sure what else they could do.
They released two new songs last month so there is some scope!
I can see them disappearing as you say, but I remember thinking that about the Missing People Choir way back when and they made it in - plus it was an end-of-the-show audition.
Only seen the first 3 episodes but pretty crap so far. Why don't they show the troll auditions anymore? Historically have always been the best bits! Are we just not allowed to laugh at ppl's expense now? Is that what it is?
Anyhow, pretty much everything I've seen has been a rehash of everything before. The dancers are boring, singers boring, magic boring etc. etc.
Favourite by FAR was the unicyclist, that was absolutely insane! Mind you, how can he top that if he makes the semis - should have saved the stupidly-high finale till then! Also liked the guy who walked through pendulums just for something a bit different. That dance group the first week were pretty decent as well as far as street dance ensembles go.
Surely not much longer until the show runs its course I would think?
OH and I forgot about the contortionist guy, LOVE that kind of stuff
Christ
They'll end up winning it probably....
I won't spoil who it is (at least it's a decent contestant) - but someone who got to the live shows in 2017 auditions tonight, which is a bit strange.
I guess they've changed the rules on that then as X was allowed thru last series.
Darlo The Dinosaur was funny.
Okay I predicted that Nabil would get a Golden Buzzer before even hearing anything about him just because this part of the show is always the part at which someone gets one Why do they make it so predictable?
At least he was finally a good choice for it!
(He feels very "ITV2 comedy" )
Could have warned us that was a horrible image with the dogs in the cage.
Not a great show sadly! Nabil was very funny but that was as good as it got, the last act's story was of course very moving and I fully respect what she does but it did feel like the story *was* the act rather than the magic itself.
As for the D-Day Juniors, they join SOS From The Kids and John Courtenay in my worst three acts so far.
A word of advice for anyone in the armed forces. Apply for next year's show, go on stage and make a cheese sandwich. You'll get through with four yeses.
I didn’t find Nabil funny one bit. Maybe it’s just my humour but yeah.
It’s safe to say I don’t think a golden buzzer is winning this year they never have anyways but this years have all been rather poor.
I didn't find Nabil funny at all either and he didn't deserve the Golden Buzzer. His whole act was based on humour about him being Muslim and he could have added something a bit different after the first one or two Muslim jokes.
Remember the days when a standing ovation from the judges actually meant something, now they do it for literally every act.
I can't see a golden buzzer act ever winning the show personally...
Nabil basing his act on being muslim was okay I thought, he was making jokes about his life and his culture. It's not too different in spirit to lost voice guy basing his act around jokes about himself and his disability and that was very popular.
I liked the dog act as it was something different to just dancing dogs again.
I've watched Nabil's audition back a few times now and I think it's probably my favourite of the series so far, I hope he does well.
I still don't think we've seen the winner yet though.
Beth Porch, the NHS nurse is still the red hot bookies' favourite followed now by Sign Along With Us. At present I can't see past Beth winning this, unless we've not yet seen the winner.
Just seen that Katherine & Joe (the Ariel/Sebastian act) are the 7th most viewed page on my Wiki over the past week and no other acts from this series are in the Top 25 :') Somehow I can't see them winning.
(Fayth Ifil is the next highest and she's quite a way above anyone else so a potential winner there maybe?)
Patch The Puppet who got buzzed had a Channel 5 show called Tickle, Patch & Friends.
Christ this has been a dull episode
I think that was my favourite epispode so far actually! Hakan was really funny, VA Kidz were another favourite and Sirine is incredibly talented as well.
Sirine’s vocal was gorgeous in her audition.
My favourite singing Audition this series
Member of 2016 finalists Boogie Storm, Christopher Gittins has been jailed grooming and sexually abusing an underage boy in Wales.
https://metro.co.uk/2020/05/21/dance-teacher-who-appeared-bgt-jailed-sex-attacks-underage-boy-12738783/
Today's would usually be the last audition week, with the live shows stripped over Half Term. But there's now an extra episode, so the last audition will be next week.
This episode has started off pretty well! Wasn't keen on the straw player but The Noise Next Door and the magician were both very good.
So it's the final auditions tonight
I do have a feeling that they may not show who gets through to the lives yet, as it may all change with who can get here.
Agreed, they usually show a bit of the deliberation in the 'coming soon' section of the previous episode and they didn't do that this time round.
Christ this has been another dire episode
Yeah that wasn't the best, nothing really stood out to me unfortunately!
The guy who was Trump in heels is actually a friend of mine.
He's bloody brilliant, shame about how it was edited and that it seemingly went right over the judges' heads.
I’ve definitely seen that woman at the end who sang Whitney Houston on TV before I recognised her straight away.
I feel she should’ve sang something else tbh but she was fantastic.
Some interesting acts tonight though
I wonder what they'd do if they had gone for an international golden buzzer who couldn't return for the lives?
Souparnika is now the most-viewed act from this series on the Wiki, potentially another dark horse?
(Hasan Minawi is just behind her but something tells me he won't be winning it)
You've heard it here first - Hasan will get top 3
It's been confirmed that a catch up show will air ahead of the lives (which will be weekly) this autumn.
I believe they're doing it with a distanced audience, but some of the international acts will be pre-recorded from their countries.
Not dure what to think of lives being aired weekly! From a selfish point of view it'll make updating the Wiki easier, but then again I do like the dramatics of it all being over within a week. It spreads it out at least I guess!
Simon will be judging via video link for the semis as they're filming AGT - but will be there for the final.
(Can't they just scrap Cowell together x - or indeed step away as he's in charge )
I feel like it's going to be disjointed by the time it comes back because of how long it would have been since the auditions were shown, I can't even remember anyone who made it to the live shows via the golden buzzer and even most of the other participants I can't remember either. They should have postponed the whole thing until Autumn and let it stretch out until December like they used to do with The X Factor.
That's why they're airing a catch up show I guess
How is it going to work with acts like dance troupes and choirs which rely on lots of people being close together? Are they all going to have to withdraw?
I hadn't even thought of that! It'll certainly be interesting
Will the Royal Variety be happening this year too which is what the winner gets to appear on? idk if this has been covered or not.
It's been confirmed they'll still appear on the Royal Variety, so I guess it is? Or maybe they'll just perform at the next one whenever it happens 😅
I can't see there being a series next year tbh - unless it takes The X Factor slot
Ouch! I guess this will rule him out for the rest of AGT
The "lives" will be pre-recorded with a virtual audience. Intruiged as to how this will all go!
Simon Cowell will now not be returning at all for BGT, and he will be replaced - I wonder who it'll be?
Ashley Banjo has been confirmed as the replacement
Good choice. He’s been through the experience himself and he’s pretty likeable and can give some constructive feedback too as seen on Dancing on Ice.
Recap show "Britain's Got Talent: The Finalists Revealed" airs next Sunday at 18:30! It of course shows the deliberation and who went through
Hmm not sure what to think about this! It definitely won't be as interesting with the judges sending one through
The first semi final airs on Saturday 5th September at 20:00!
Studio's looking good!
Decent selection for the semis I think, all my favourites bar Noise Next Door made it through. Glad Lioz and D Day Juniors are out although I would have liked Amanda & Miracle and the phone magician (already forgotten his name oops) to join them.
I also stand by my prediction that they've only put Dario the Dinosaur through so that they've got someone to buzz off in the Semis.
The Noise Next Door pulled out unfortunately! Hopefully they can return another year as they were one of my favourites
Thanks for the info! Hopefully they'll be back next year.
Honestly overall it seems like quite a weak selection for the semis :/ too many choirs as well! (of all the years to have them in as well )
Tonight's lineup:
Diversity are the guest performers
Fayth Ifil
Imen Siar
James & Dylan Piper
James Stott
SOS from the Kids
Steve Royle
Urban Turtles
Yakub
I predict the judges will put through Fayth (though I hope they don't put all the golden buzzers through), and Steve Royle or James Stott will win the public vote.
Looking forward to Yakub / James & Dylan Piper out of that lot. I think Fayth would win the public vote even if the Judges didn't put her through though!
I'm sure Urban Turtles will put on a good show but they wouldn't have gotten through if they weren't dressed as turtles, we could have done with a few more dance troupes in the semis (although maybe Covid put pay to that)
Another thing is I hope the lack of real audience doesn't hurt acts like Steve Royle too much :/ If anything I'd rather they add fake laughter for the atmosphere!
When I watched last weeks show just then I was confused by how few acts I remembered and I religiously watch the show and watched all the auditions this year but I’m sure a portion of the semi finalists must’ve had about ten seconds of their audition shown as I didn’t recall seeing a fair few of them.
I think nearly all of them did have full auditions shown! The one exception is Ember Trio who weren't featured on the main show (their audition was part of BGT Unseen), other than that it might just be that they were less memorable than previous years
I knew I hadn't seen Ember Trio! I guess they might've been a late addition to the semis then?
Must have been! We know Noise Next Door dropped out, a few others might have done as well.
Now you mention Ember Trio after a quick search they were definitely one what stuck out in my mind of I definitely did not see this audition!
"Amanda gets the casting vote if it's tied" - so it's going to be more than just 'we decided on act x' then?
I wouldn't mind if Ashley stayed on tbh!
I thought the magicians were quite dull :/ bit of a shame! And I think I worked the trick out quite quickly
Ashley’s a really good and natural addition to the panel so far .
I quite liked James and Dylan! And I've not really got a clue how they did it (although I don't usually work them out, the exception being that awful phone magician)
Okay I wasn't expecting the Muslim girl to sing a Christian worship song! I guess it makes sense with both faiths though. And she sung it really well (although a considerably shorter performance than the last one )
Is there going to be any guest performers ?
I feel a bit bad for Yakub - he knows there's no chance of him winning, yet the Judges keep asking him if he thinks he can and expecting him to say yes Another great performance from him though, glad he made it into the Semis.
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by Yakub! Dancers don't usually do a lot for me
Of course a major downside for these danger acts is that it doesn't feel the same being pre-recorded
That all felt quite underwhelming
I felt like the guy with the coloured cars was switching them about tbh after he folded them
Feels like a throwback to my primary school assemblys, and not in a good way
Music video != semi final performance. Even in these weird times.
It did feel strange that being pre-recorded I imagine they'd be able to have as many takes until it was perfect
Also I'm pretty sure I heard Me & You Together Song in the background earlier, very pleased
Steve has *got* to go through!
Definitely 5 votes from me if the judges don't put him through
I'm sure if I was in the room I would be finding it hilarious but just sat here he didn't do that much for me sadly! Would be happy to see him in the Final though.
And the award for least funny act goes to the alleged comedian.
Hmm I actually think the judges will put Steve through now!
Yes Steve!!
So we're not going to find out who won the Public vote until the Final? Surely all the excitement will have dried out by then.
I thought tonight’s show was strong but Steve was easily the worst of the night for me. I just don’t get that sort of comedy it felt a bit dated.
Faiths sing tonight was awful as well you could barely hear her over the backing track. So two of the top three I didn’t agree with but James and Dylan I did enjoy and liked hopefully they’ll win the public vote.
Diversity’s performance though WOW!!!!!!
Steve as Simon Cowell said:
It felt like something you’d see on the beach at Blackpool like silly slapstick humour he just needed a cream pie shoved in his face to top it all off.
I mean respect for him as he had the hardest gig with no audience infront of him but I didn’t really get it.
Also can someone confirm this to me lol we get someone else going through who could be anyone right like it doesn’t have to be someone just out of the top 3? When it comes to a wild card will that just be between the acts on the judges top 3? Or is there no judges wild card this year.
Steve is certainly divisive but it's definitely my sense of humour my whole family were laughing as well
I gave 5 votes to James, I wasn't too impressed by anyone other than Steve - but I think he's the one who can step it up most for the final.
Wasn't over impressed by any last night really. James was just silly but not really funny.
Still can't see beyond nurse Beth Porch for the winner and the bookies say so too.
Here are the latest odds with Beth overwhelming 6/5 fav. Next are 6/1.
https://www.oddschecker.com/tv/britains-got-talent/britains-got-talent-2020/winner
I see the woman with the dancing Dachshunds has pulled out, complaining that the social distancing rules being imposed on contestants is "over the top". She was picked for the semis.
All caught up! Ashley was a great addition to the panel and the Diversity performance stole the entire show for me - they've still got it.
James and Dylan were probably my favourite act.
Diversity’s performance just gets better each time I see it again wow.
No other dance troupe comes close to them even after all the years that’s passed since they won they’re in a complete league of their own.
I'm not convinced Beth will win actually, I think she'll come close but I feel she's a bit dull for a lot of people.
(Then again, there was last year's winner )
I’m also not convinced that Beth will win.
I think the winner will be a non singer actually. But I’m yet to predict who
I think the winner will he someone who gets the public vote though... not one who the judges put straight through.
How are the semi final shows being filmed? Like have they just filmed the one what’s already aired so far?
I was thinking we could find out on Saturday who won the last vote but it depends on how they’re filming the semi finals have they already filmed the lot of them across last week but they’re showing them weekly?
Yeah they're definitely filming the semis now as the guest performers have been posting about it.
But I believe the final has confirmed to be live (though I suppose it has to be really)
I still think Sirine has by far the best chance of winning! I still need to download the app oops, would probably have spread my votes out between those who were likely to get the least.
I don't think there's any obvious winner at least which is good!
Sirine is a good shout, though I'm not convinced she'll actually make it past the semis (in the public vote at least). We'll see!
Hints for the second semi contestants are on Twitter, I can't be bothered to work them out but lots have over there Souparnika Nair has been confirmed though
Tonight's lineup (with guest performers McFly!)
Aaron & Jasmine
Allan Finnegan
Amanda & Miracle
Class Dynamix
The Coven
Damien O'Brien
Honey & Sammy
Souparnika Nair
I predict the judges will put Souparnika through, and Allan Finnegan or Damien O'Brien will win the public vote. (it's a shame it doesn't seem like they'll be revealing those until the final!)
Interesting how Souparnika seems to be the only 'real' favourite in this group! Damien will need to do a lot to win me over this time round as his audition was one of the worst tricks I think I've ever seen.
I just watched it back and... oh dear I wouldn't rule him completely out though!
Just had a look at the most viewed stats on the Wiki - Fayth has had 165 views in the last week whilst James and Dylan have 10 times that amount, but the most viewed page is Yakub with 2,000+ views Maybe a surprise winner in the public vote?
Oh that's interesting! On YouTube they all have 45k (Imen) to 76k (Yakub), other than Steve Royle (227k) and James Stott (129k) out ahead by quite a way!
SEMI-FINAL 2 line-up. Don't think this needs spoilers.
Semi-Final 2 - 12th September 2020
1. Souparnika Nair
2. Damien O'Brien
3. Class Dynamix
4. Allan Finnegan
5. Amanda & Miracle
6. Aaron & Jasmine
7. Honey & Sammy
8. The Coven
Can't remember what most of those even do. I have the running orders for the other semis if anyone wants them PM me.
They're saving nurse Beth Porch until near the end of the last semi as I thought they would do. They're all recorded now. I think they're hoping to have the final go out live on Saturday 10th December. The venue is booked already.
Surprisingly Beth is now not the bookies favourite.
A first BGT Christmas special has been confirmed for this year! The Mirror are reporting that some of the past contestants they're asking to perform include Susan Boyle and Paul Potts - and it won't be a competition but a "celebration of the show".
They've had this in America for the last few years, so I'm not surprised to see it come over here now.
A Christmas-themed Diversity performance will be interesting
Interesting choice to put Souparnika first! Thought she would have been the closing act for sure.
Yeah I'm not sure she'd get through on the public vote if it comes to it
Souparnika was really lovely. I don't usually care for the child acts but she won me over.
That all felt very lacklustre!
The trick was decent but the guy himself was quite dull, and it felt like the act went on forever
That was definitely better than his fake calculator app in the audition but there's been very similar before.
This VT about the parents not believing the kids went on BGT is so cringeworthy, as if the parents didn't have to sign copious numbers of permission forms to get them there in the first place
Edit: also the performance wasn't good.
Yeah I can only assume the teacher has connections in the industry
I really wanted to like that, and it was alright - but his audition was much better. They should've put through the Manc comedian!
Yeah Allan wasn't my cup of tea sadly!
what on earth was that
That was insane
Souparnika is still my favourite tonight so far. I'm particularly bored of those magic acts that essentially do the same trick.
A bit too much emphasis on the sob story. Magical Bones could be interesting.
Quite lacklustre tonight tbh. The young girl singing and the two dancers have been the only two I’ve really liked tonight.
Aaron & Jasmine are the second best so far, which really says more about the quality of this show than anything else!
That mother daughter act seriously htf did they get golden buzzer!?!? I’m going off this show.
I hated their audition... but I thought that was pretty decent!
Now this is the worst VT so far !
I thought that last performance was quite good!
Though I can see the Judges picking either Honey & Sammy or Amanda & Miracle and me getting very annoyed. Souparnika was the best of the night for sure.
The first act was definitely the best for me but the way the judges are talking it feels like they will choose The Coven.
The Coven were the best of a pretty poor bunch. I started 45 minutes behind and have nearly caught up thanks to the ads and awful VTs (and the dog act).
McFly were definitely the highlight of the show! Fantastic performance
Well it's the right Top 3 at least!
McFly were wonderful ❤️
Such a shame the judges didn’t send the young girl through she was fantastic easily the highlight of the night!
That was a reasonable result. I feel that single dancers or duos are often under-appreciated in terms of the level of skill they show so that dance groups with bigger production can go through instead so it's nice to see that reversed tonight.
I'd have still chosen Souparnika as the best but hopefully she will get the public's vote instead.
I'm not sure I can be bothered to vote for any of them - even using the app
I'll take that result - they were my third favourite of the three but it'll be nice to see them in the Final.
Looking forward to Sigala and James Arthur performing next week!
I really liked The Coven.
The correct top 3 tonight I’d say although I wished The Coven made it through on judges vote as they stand out but a definite better winner than last weeks and perhaps a better show all round tbh.
The only act I didn’t really get was Allan but comedy is not really my kinda scene like I don’t know what it is about this show and comedians but I’ve never found any of them particularity funny but I do appreciate him doing it to a virtual audience as it can’t have been easy but his act was the only one tonight what dragged.
I gave all 5 votes to The Coven! I wasn't expecting that before the show
This is a fantastic move from ITV, in all the national papers today
Looking like a much better lineup tonight! Sigala & James Arthur are the guest performers
Bhim Niroula
Dario the Dinosaur
Ember Trio
Magical Bones
Myra Dubois
Sign Along with Us
Sirine Jahangir
X1X Crew
My predictions are Sirine to win the judges' vote, and I think the public one is a bit harder! After Donchez coming third, Bhim getting through wouldn't surprise me at all. (Ember Trio are in with a shout as well)
Sign Along With Us definitely seem like they have public vote winner potential more than some of the others. Ember Trio deserve a shot but they have a disadvantage of their audition not being on the main show.
However the judges one is more difficult (like last weeks show winner I personally don’t think would’ve won on a public vote despite them being very talented, but weeks one comedian would’ve probably gotten the public vote too).
I’d be here for Sirine winning.
Sirine and Sign Along With Us have been the two names I've seen batted around to win the whole thing so I'm surprised they're both in the same semi!
Hey what about X1X crew.
I don't think they have any chance tbh
Just realised Magical Bones is in there. He had one of my favourite auditions this year my favourite from that kind of act by a long way.
It all depends on the performance on the night but he could well be in with a shot.
Oh yeah his audition was pretty good! The magicians so far this year have been quite disappointing so hopefully he can turn it around
Next week's guest performers are Michael Ball & the cast of Hairspray, and the "guest" performer for semi 5 is Amanda Holden
So that's why Amanda released I Know Him So Well as a single yesterday
I didn't really 'get' it - was Amanda told to start singing randomly all those times Myra cut her off?
I suppose she must've been in on it? Or it would've been silence for ages
I did kinda loose interest in the middle of that, but I have no idea how he did it!
Aaargh I wanted to like both of those last two acts more than I did! I expect I would have needed to have been in the room to get the full 'experience' of Ember Trio but still pretty good.
What a God
Well my prediction of him being put through to be buzzed off wasn't quite right, but he's the only one to get any buzzers this series and I think he would have been buzzed off in any normal series.
The performance is as dead as the dinosaurs themselves
Honestly I think they shouldn't have buzzers for the semis, and especially not allowing to be buzzed off. They've decided they're good enough to go through, so should at least let them perform the act in full.
#JusticeForDavros
Sirine was fantastic. She should definitely be in the final.
Her music isn't something I'd go out of my way to listen to, but Sirine was brilliant there.
Banger.
Bhim Niroula coming for that #1(000)
Sign Along With Us not in the Top 3
I think the top 3 had it been a public vote would've been Sirine, Sign Along and Ember Trio
Crikey, wasn't expecting that at all. Sirine definitely deserved that
And this is why we shouldn't let the Judges make decisions.
Magical Bones definitely deserved that. The best act of the whole semis so far for me.
But Sirine was also brilliant and she’d have been my pick had she been on one of the other shows.
Aside from the top 3 and Emblem Trio the show was weaker tonight.
Myra, Dario and that stupid man with that song all should’ve never got through in the first place. I didn’t even find any of those remotely funny or entertaining.
Sign Along With Us had a great message and were heart warming but I hope that’s as far as they get.
I've actually downloaded the app this time round! We can't have a Final without the odds-on favourite (and actual best act) being in it.
Dario The Dinosaur is a bloody legend.
Mel's Klever K9's
Doctor Gore
Phil Blackmore
The Deans of Magic
Vizage
BritChix
Nick Hell
Luke Clements
Antonio Popeye
Kony Puppets
The Deep Space Deviants
Marty Putz
Were all worse than Dario The Dinosaur.
David Wailliams and Alesha Dixon without a.Top 40 hit since 2012.
Woah woah let's leave The Deep Space Deviants and especially Marty Putz out of there!
Who’s performing next week?
I gave 5 votes to Ember Trio this week
I gave 5 votes to Dario The Dinosaur.
#JusticeForDario
Tonight's lineup: (with guest performers Michael Ball & the Hairspray cast)
Belinda Davids
Billy & Chantelle
Chineke! Junior Orchestra
Jasper Cherry
Jon Courtenay
Katherine & Joe O’Malley
Kevin Quantum
Papi Flex
Quite hard to predict this week! I think Jon or Kevin will get the judges' vote - and if not I think either one of them will get the viewers' vote (more likely Kevin I suspect). Buzzing for Katherine & Joe though.
Looking forward to seeing Jasper again, other than that this feels like whatever the opposite of a stacked semi-final is.
Oh for f*** sake!
Katherine and Joe actually getting to the semis. At least that means they can’t come back again year after year but that’s a bit of a joke. I don’t get why the judges still year after year put 4 or 5 clearly terrible acts in the semi final just to slag them off like why choose them in the first place. I doubt they’ll be as ridiculous as that Dinasour or Monday Morning love you man but even so
In fairness, Joe's tap dancing is genuinely quite good
That was a good start to the show! Still not sure whether I liked all the stuff around them for being original or whether it was a bit unnecessary.
Act of the night on next
That was certainly classical music, twas alright
Another very good act! I do like Chineke though, I feel as though it can only go downhill from here.
(edit: it's katherine & joe so it definitely will)
Act of the night on now !
That was... all a bit long-winded.
Loved that! And he's certainly got the judges' vote now I suspect
I still don't find him remotely funny. And now they're gonna put him through aren't they
I liked him more tonight than in the semi. He definitely has a ring of Victoria Wood to his performances.
Great performance from Jasper, I presume he cut the deck so the card would always be the 5 of diamonds but how he got it into various parts of Ashley's clothes I have no idea!
The only thing I could think of is perhaps someone on the show planted it beforehand?
None I've seen so far tonight will win the show imo.
Katherine and Joe were pretty shit.
The Queen wouldn't want to see this act.
Papi *.*
Even Better Than The Real Thing 2017 Winner just performed then.
How many Whitney tribute acts does the world need?
She's already appeared on a talent show though regardless of it being a one-off...
I'm going to predict Jon, Jasper and Belinda for the Top 3 although I'd be quite happy if Jon wasn't there.
A reasonable set of three today, probably the best semi final so far.
99p store male Victoria Wood through to the final.
Not unexpected but I'm not looking forward to having to watch Jon again! All my app votes are going to Jasper this week.
The Top 3 were magician Judd Trump lookalike, Cruise Ship Whitney, 99p Shop Male Victoria Wood ft Dominic Littlewood lookalike.
Glad to see Jon through! He'll win the show, mark my words
^and I will vote for whoever it takes to stop that from happening
Quite a good show tonight but I really don’t get Jons act!
I thought I’d be in the minority but reading this it seems I’m not yeah I just didn’t get it.
I’d have had The Orchestra, Jasper and Papi as the top 3.
I enjoyed pretty much everyone tonight except Jon and Katherine and Joe.
Belinda is amazing as a vocalist but I’d much rather her step away from Whitney and just be her. We don’t need another Whitney tribute and she’s done that act to death now as well.
I've given 5 votes to Katherine and Joe!
Tonight's lineup for the final semi! Amanda Holden is the "guest" performer
Aidan McCann
Beth Porch
Crissy Lee
Hakan Berg
Nabil Abdulrashid
Shalom Chorale
The Soldiers of Swing
Wesley Williams
I think the judges will put Beth or Nabil through, with Wesley potentially going through on the public vote (though I think his act might not be the same with it presumably being pre-recorded, and Beth will certainly go through if the judges' don't go for her)
The soliders' doing a 1D cover threw me off to start with
That 1D cover was a hate crime
I absolutely loved Hakan I think he's got a chance of getting through!
Bloody hell that was incredible
That song from Beth was much better than her audition song!
Who’s the guest performer in the final?
What’s the point in judging choosing top 3 and then their fav? It would make more sense for a top voted by public gets through and they pick between following 2 like normal
The semi finals aren't live so that's not possible, that's the only reason it's been changed! There won't be time for them to make 5 decisions during the final.
Nabil was SUPERB, possibly my fave act across the whole series? I hope he gets through!
Wow at Beth!
I feel like this was by far the strongest round. About 5 of the acts were better than the other semi finals.
I actually thought Holden was pretty decent tonight!
Beth was better in her audition. The cyclist was fab but is it just me who doesn't like Nabil?
I wasn’t feeling tonight’s show at all. The weakest semi final for me.
I didn’t find Nabil funny one bit. 4/5 acts the judges have put through wouldn’t have been my pick the only one I agreed with was Magical Bones.
Beth deserved to go through although I presume she’s likely for the judges vote. But yeah not that strong a show tonight I didn’t understand that man with the birds one bit, the unicycle act was uncomfortable to watch due to him nearly falling before the big trick, Nabil isn’t my kinda act well comedy isn’t in general but I didn’t laugh once at him. The soldiers at the start were quite decent, I liked the superhero colour trick from the child magician too and the choir were alright but not one of the best we’ve seen.
Amanda was decent enough but I was under the impression she was miming tonight it didn’t look like she was singing live to me
So is the final next week? I’m really intrigued to know who’s in the final from public votes.
I've given 5 votes to Wesley!
The final is indeed next week, from 19:30
I'd read spoilers last week that the judges found Beth a bit underwhelming tonight and didn't put her straight through.
Who’s guest performer next week ?
Hasn't been revealed yet!
I thought Nabil was much better than his semi performance and has material was really topical, we both laughed loads of times and I’m glad he went through.
Nabil was definitely better than in his audition. I didn't laugh at all in his audition but managed the odd chuckle this time. He's the only comic who didn't seem to let the lack of a live audience affect his act.
I gave four votes to Wesley and one to birdman.
Only took them 5 shows to put the right act through Nabil was by far my favourite, glad to see him in the Final. I gave four votes to Shalom Chorale and a consolation vote to Hakan.
Are we the viewers solely deciding the winner this year?
Yep! It's a live final
Sign Along With Us are now the bookies favourites at 11/10. Beth Porch's odds have really lengthened since the semis and she's not even in the top 10 favourites now. The general view is that she disappointed somewhat in her semi final and I'd agree with that. Plus Covid and nurses were much fresher in everyone's minds during the auditions.
I don't think I can see Sign winning really, my guess is that it will be Jon Courtenay currently
I still don’t think there’s an obvious winner yet and it could well depend on both the performances on the night and the running order on the final too.
The British however typically either like a sob story or an underdog so I’m potentially thinking that a golden buzzer still won’t win and also potentially it may also mean that none of the finalists who got the judges vote will win either it could be one of the winners from the semis who got there on the judges vote. It’s hard to tell though depends who won each semi and what the variety is in the final too.
So the line up for the final is:
Steve Royle
Aaron & Jasmine
Magical Bones
Jon Courtaney
Nabil Abdulrashid
James & Dylan Piper
Damien O’Brien
Sign Along With Us
Jasper Cherry
Aidan McCann
Very male and magic heavy
Crikey, that's an annoying amount of magic acts (and I didn't even think Jasper and Damien were that good).
I think my money would be on Jon.
So Beth Porch NOT in the final. That's a shock when she's been favourite since March until last week. Are you sure that's the complete list? There's usually more than 10 in the final
That's 100%, the acts are being recorded now. They voting is live though, so I'm not sure how they're doing it
No, seems like just 10 acts and no wildcard according to Digital Spy. Am absolutely gobsmacked that Beth didn't make the final at least.
Beth not getting through to the final is a shock. Sirine deserved to get there too as did The Coven!
So the public really chose 4/5 magic acts from the final out of the semis. Not one obvious winner for me off that list. Sign Along With Us feel like the most typical BGT kind of winner. I’d say at the moment it’s probably between them and Jon.
I feel bad for Aaron and Jasmine because they’re the unique act in a final that’s full of magic / comedy but the public won’t go for that kinda act.
If a magic act wines Magical Bones is by far the best.
The final tonight begins at the earlier time of 19:30
I won’t be watching the final live tonight so staying away from this thread until I’ve seen it. I’m watching LM The Search and recording BGT to fast the ads
But that clashes with the Giro highlights! Ruining my TV schedule.
(oh well, this is the last week of BGT so I better enjoy it!)
Not really bothered if it's all magicians but suppose I'll watch it.
In fairness I'd prefer 5 magicians to 5 singers like there used to be!
Surely all these magicians are just going to cancel each other out?
Here for the annual random play of Lukas Graham 'Take The World By Storm' though *.*
This is definitely live, isn't it .
Crikey this is dragging
He remains as annoying as he did the first time round. Thank goodness he's on first so hopefully everyone will forget about him.
Alesha: 'You fooled everyone' erm no he didn't
Well at least we're getting my two least favourite magicians over with first.
Buzzing for Steve 👀
Loved it! I definitely think he'll be top 3 at least
Just a thought - could the vast array of magicians making it in be down to people not knowing who was in the Final already? I feel like if people knew they had voted 2/3 magicians in already they wouldn't have voted for another.
Magical Bones felt very... lackluster. I thought there would be another trick
For one of the few acts that wasn't a magician, David could have found a better way to describe the performance than 'it was magic'
This is really cool!
That 'video diary'... was so obviously not real? I mean Dylan even has the same haircut as he does now!
Little Aiden was far better than his SF performance. For his age, he was supremely confident. OK, his trick was nothing special but he was fun and acted his age.
Steve Royle's act was good old-fashioned entertainment. Utterly daft but there's nothing wrong with that.
Magical Bones was surprisingly dull.
I didn't mind Nabil, but I thought his semi performance was stronger
Nabil and Steve have been my favourites so far. Nabil stands out to me as someone who could genuinely be a success outside of the show.
Woah Jasper is definitely my favourite magician of the night! Wasn't expecting that as I wasn't a fan of his semi performance
It was okay - but it did seem as though the trick was something to do with the bottom of the glasses because you could never see them until he'd filled them.
That was Nabil's best performance by far.
Nabil was very good again! Good to see his response to all the complaints. Jasper again was good.
I reckon Jon's got this in the bag
Jon was awful as per always, part of me wants to vote for Sign Along With Us just to stop him from doing so.
Jon's song just felt a bit calculated in terms of throwing in popular references for 2020. NHS tick. Captain Tom tick.
He's okay, I quite like that he's bringing back the type of act that Victoria Wood once was... but it feels like the same song over and over again, I'd rather see different topics being covered.
Didn't really like anybody. Can't say who'll win. Nabil maybe but just doesn't make me laugh. Think it's between Nabil and Jon.
5 votes for Jon!
Jon now 1/10 so he's got this in the bag!
Is it just me or is it obvious that they're miming? Their mouths weren't matching up
I've had to mute this
I gave 3 to Jasper and 2 to Nabil.
...could we have a shock Nabil winner? I know the odds didn't suggest that, but I just have a feeling
Oh and I voted 5 times for Nabil. I don't usually bother but I'd really like to see him win.
I'm going to predict:
1. Jon
2. Nabil
3. Steve
I think the top 3 will be those in some order if not
Nabil not top 3?
Rather him than the sympathy for the boy choir.
An unfunny guy wins
Still not a fan but I'll take on Steve Royle's message and say well done to Jon for winning!
It's becoming all too predictable, isn't it? Either wear a uniform (even if you're only an army cook) or tell the country how wonderful it is (while ignoring how useless the government is).
I’m so surprised Nabil didn’t make the top 3
Very happy with that winner!
I predicted Jon as the winner after seeing the performances although he wasn’t to my taste.
Nabil definitely expected to be at least top 3 his face when they revealed it was Steve in over him was a picture
Aaron and Jasmine, Magical Bones and Sign Along With Us were my top 3.
The Voting Stats
Super close between 2nd/3rd/4th but Jon was a runaway winner !
Jon Courtenay 35.7%
Sign Along With Us 15.3%
Steve Royle - 14.1%
Nabil 13.9%
James & Dylan Piper 5.7%
Damien O'Brien 4.6%
Aidan McCann 3.7%
Jasper Cherry 3.3%
Magical Bones 2.9%
Aaron & Jasmine - 0.8%

Wow! I didn’t expect him to win by that much! But 35% in a ten way vote is very impressive props to him tbh like it’s not my kinda act but it is clever and it was very British too. I can see why he done well.
Aaron and Jasmine and Magical Bones deserved better but not too surprised they were 9th and 10th.
2nd 3rd and 4th so close as well!
I wonder what the % were for the semis too. I can imagine some of those being close especially Jon’s for example as he’d have walked that had it been done the old way probably same said for Nabil and Steve too.
How did Amanda & Miracle get 18.5% in their semi? it was very close that week!
Sirine was pretty close to Sign Along With Us in her semi final. If she’d been on a different show she could’ve scraped through. A few times my faves actually come second in their semi!
The public voting for 4 extra magic acts in the final though they really need to put the similar acts in the same semi to try and balance out the final a bit.
Also it's only just occurred to me how long the judges have been together - the next series will be their 10th together! That's very uncommon for a talent show
I’d really like Ashley to join full time as a judge now he’s been the best judge this season during his stand in.
Amanda is my favourite from the usual lineup though. I can kinda take or leave both David and Alesha now.
I'm not expecting Ashley to stay with him doing Dancing on Ice which films at the same time, and it might be a bit too much being a judge on consecutive ITV talent shows in the year - but I'd welcome him if he does!
The BGT Christmas special filming was suspended due to crew testing positive for corona, and Deadline are reporting that it's unlikely to go back ahead :/
Digital Spy are reporting the Christmas special will go ahead now
It's just hit me that part of the reason the Judges' comments seemed to be more interesting than past years is that we didn't have an audience their to boo their heads off when anyone said anything remotely negative I really hope they keep that for future live shows as it's just irritating.
That's a good point. I've always found the booing at negative comments, even when it is constructive criticism, extremely tiresome. The lack of that made it easier for judges to be honest. I liked Ahsley Banjo's comments on one of the finalists which was along the lines of "Your act isn't really my thing, but you were good at what you do". That would have been met with overblown catcalls from the audience if there had been one.
I think what they need to do more of is have the acts who are basically doing the same thing in the same semi final so they can cancel one another out and we end up with a more balanced final. Like put kid magic acts against one another, kid singers, dance troups (this was kinda a rare final where the dance act in there was a duo and a very strong one at that).
I agree the judges comments seemed better with the no audience it’s always an irk when you hear booooo at anything bad especially when the acts something like that dinosaur who roared to a David Guetta track
Christmas special is now set to be filmed on December 7th! Hopefully it can go ahead alright this time
Series 15 auditions will be filmed in January with a socially distanced audience + the Christmas special filmed last night to be aired Christmas Day at 8pm!

BGT filming is not going ahead for the new series. It sounds as if the current aim is either to film over Summer (Covid permitting) to air in Autumn or maybe even cancel this year.
I'm not surprised at all - the wheels have been coming off BGT this past year and it doesn't appear to have worked in the Covid world (the last series really missed the big audience / theatre setting for the lives). ITV will have seen flop BGT Champions series, followed by lower rating Covid disrupted series and massive flop Christmas special that barely managed 3m viewers overnight and rightly thought, it's not worth it with the health and safety challenges that they're facing to get the series to air before Autumn.
Yeah I think it'll be worth taking a year out, wait to do it properly in 2022. The massive gap between the auditions and the live shows didn't help at all
It's now been confirmed by ITV that BGT won't be filmed or aired until 2022. Seems the right decision to me!
Not surprised, it wouldn't have worked well at all this year - it'll be interesting to see if they make any changes to the show for 2022!
BUMP
David J Watson who auditioned a record 12 times has passed away aged 62.
Oh dear! What a legend he was
RIP, as much as I never really watched BGMT it'll be a shame to not see him pop up every year.
