BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Kamaliya ~ Reigning Queen of iTunes

Yes! I think it's time the woman who've completely ruled the iTunes top 40 with her flawless releases these past few months angel.gif

Wild Child looks like it'll potentially be her first top 100 UK hit. I hope all you Kamaliya freaks will support her in her efforts to get a UK hit wub.gif

!!

This is her best recently in the itunes chart for me. Actually a much better dance song than many in the charts at the minute for me, more lively.

Much prefer it to the original Aphrodite on the opening post (but then I am a dance music fan)

It's great to see an independent artist charting on raw talent and internet buzz alone. Ridiculous that radio continue to shun her.

Indeed! Well done Kamaliya! I do wish the remix of Aphrodite was the main version of Aphrodite though! I think she is better doing dance than pop, as there is not much uplifting dance like Aphrodite (Funk DeVice remix) doing well on iTunes at the minute and it was refreshing to see that remix recently whereas there is lots of pop around already!

I've listened to her album out of curiosity and it's actually not half bad.

In fact I genuinely love the song Plastic Cup, which is a bit Party In The USA-esque but super catchy, with a power pop chorus. So naturally it's one of the few tracks on the album not to have been bloody hyped into the chart by her husband's bank account. I bought the track on iTunes a few weeks ago which may well be her first genuine sale laugh.gif

I am surprised, I thought you would prefer the uplifting dance Aphrodite Funk DeVice Remix to her pop tracks wink.gif

I’ve listened to all of the songs that her husband has been buying, and ‘Wild Child’ is the only one that I like. Great 80’s vibe, really catchy chorus! The rest sound tacky. laugh.gif

Is it the remix or the original of 'Wild Child' you like?

The album version. The remixed version is completely nondescript club filler!

Omg she has some bops!

Her new one Legend (Funk DeVice remix) is ahem quite unique. Also features Anne Judith Stokke Wik and on spotify is credited to Micky Modelle DJ, as in the guy who made top 10 with Dancing In The Dark with Jessy in 2006 ohmy.gif Sadly not on youtube yet though so I can only post the spotify link! https://open.spotify.com/track/4kDjbdtK07P7TILVe36p1k

He also did Samantha Mumba's Gotta Tell You 2008, so it's good to know that Kamaliya only works with the best of the best wub.gif

it's about time someone made a thread for her! All the illegitimate iTunes sales and reviews have provided me with much entertainment over the past month. Never Wanna Hurt You is a guilty pleasure though, despite it somehow managing to rip off not one but TWO songs (Right There and Burn). Also, didn't Aphrodite spend several weeks in the Top 3 in Spain? Was that actually legitimate?

"Legend" is her latest hit wub.gif

How does it have illegitimate sales? I don’t understand.

Her husband is a billionaire oil tycoon and her 'record label' is a subsidiary of his business - she's charted in various countries that require low sales to get a hit with chart runs such as 3-4-3-98-Out.

There is almost zero @'s on her Twitter page yet her tweets get retweeted and liked 100s of times, her singles regularly get 200+ 5 star reviews, and her YouTube videos rack up 250,000 plays in a few hours - basically her husband is buying her onto the charts, he would be better off buying her on to streaming playlists and getting her radio and TV promo. Her chart runs on iTunes the past month have been hysterical - appearing from nowhere and literally jumping up and down the charts.

This is something that jealous haters claim because they can't stand her success while flop solo singers from The Saturdays keep flopping. Don't listen to them, every sale Kamaliya gets is legitimate bought by one of her adoring fans.
