BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Friday Chart Predictions

Posted by: Mart!n 19th March 2018, 01:00 PM

In the singles its looking like Drake again, top 5 will probably remain the same as last week, unless Rudimental somehow manage to sneak in, with Marshmello & Anne-Marie not far behind. New single releases from Lil Dicky feat. Chris Brown 'Freaky Friday' and Louisa feat. 2 Chainz 'Yes'. With new peaks for Bebe Rexha feat. Florida Georgia Line, George Ezra, and Sigala & Paloma Faith.

And in the album chart its looking at another week for The Greatest Showman soundtrack album, new albums from Kim Wilde 'Here Come the Aliens', XXXtentacion '?', The Fratellis 'Starcrossed Losers', Fickle Friends 'You Are Someone Else', The Decemberists 'I'll Be Your Girl' and Alexandra Burke 'The Truth Is'.

That's a huge exaggeration. tongue.gif The album would have to be doing better than The Greatest Showman for 15k SES to happen, which it isn't.

Lol at the OCC doing a full article for that when they know full well the song has no chance of keeping top 100 officially and that it's only in now due to missing streaming data.

This time last week, Drake was on 16k which means he will more likely have lower sales this come Friday. If he decreases again the following week, that means he’ll be on ACR cheer.gif

Posted by: Cqmerqn 19th March 2018, 05:55 PM

YES set to debut lower than Best Behaviour sad.gif

Posted by: danG 19th March 2018, 05:56 PM

@Hadji

If he decreases in sales *this* week (which it seems like he will) then he will be on ACR next week, regardless of if he increases his sales next week or not.

Posted by: Jei-boy 19th March 2018, 06:00 PM

Will Rudimental be on ACR next week too? or NOW 99 compilation will help evade that?

They're fine for now, they increased sales last week I believe so still on SCR for the moment. I've posted in another thread but to reiterate next week we should have God's Plan, IDGAF, All The Stars, Sick Boy and Let Me Down on ACR. This week we've got For You (which hasn't fallen that heavily due to strong singles sales) and Bad (which has fell out the top 100 now).

Posted by: M4NG0 19th March 2018, 06:06 PM

How on earth dos the Greatest Showman keep selling that much every week?!

great that Paradise is at #4!!!!!

and yay looks like Drake won't improve his sales so ACR for sure next week
I kinda hope somehow Paradise could manage to get #1 next week, he just needs to keep moving up on spotify

If Rudimental stays at #2 I think it beats Maroon 5 longest stay for a #2 record of 6 weeks, if I remember rightly unsure.gif and I wish Drake just go away.

Looks like Kim Wilde will have to settle for a top 15-20 position by the end of the week, I really was expecting top 5.

Nope, it'll match their record of #2 for 7 weeks. A record also shared by All-4-One when 'I Swear' got held off by Bryan Adams.

Not that their 7 weeks at #2 will matter when it goes to #1 next week artificially because of Drake moving to ACR.

Unless the album release for George manages to push Paradise to the top; I guess it depends on how much Paradise can rise on Spotify this week.

Also new Shawn Mendes next week as well

Maroon 5 managed 7 consecutive weeks at No.2 as did All 4 One's ' I Swear' back in '94. wink.gif

Treat You Better I think was top 30 and TNHMB debuted top 10 - so may be a bit of a stretch to claim the top spot...

The new Alexandra album is good (but it’s no overcome) hopefully it can stay top 40

Posted by: Bré 19th March 2018, 07:43 PM

Oh yay for Drake still being #1 - I'm guessing the 59p effect might be preventing Rudimental from overtaking him this week, but it won't be big enough to keep 'God's Plan' from going to ACR next week. Crossing all my fingers that 'Paradise' will go to #1 next week with a streaming boost from the album release, it's holding up well on iTunes thus far! (also it would be amusing for 'These Days' to beat the record for weeks peaking at #2, even though it never deserved to get that high in the first place).

Lil Dicky possibly actually coming for a top 20 hit *_* also interested to see how R1 will deal with XXXTENTACION having a top 5 album, they've thus far refused to play either of his top 40 hits, will they even play a clip for his album I wonder tongue.gif

If it sells less than 48,101 AND declines relative to the market then yes it will have ACR applied to it next week (Week 10).

Rudimental actually sold around 300 chart sales more than Drake yesterday so don't completely rule them out this week, all to play for IMO (see below). Had Drake not discounted to 59p you'd have seen Rudimental take it by 500 or so but its going to be even closer now I reckon.

Top chart is chart sales (blue = God's Plan, green = These Days)
Bottom chart left is God's Plan with SES on top sales on bottom, right is These Days.

Omg at Alexandra Burke's 3rd album doing better than her second disco lp laugh.gif

Whyyy people try and fail to bring back disco i do not know

I’ve heard Louisa a lot on capital today. Can see her doing a Camila crying in the club with this track in coming weeks.

Alexandra should stay top 25 then? Can see streaming pushing some albums above her but I didn’t but even think she’d go top 40!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 20th March 2018, 01:49 AM

Kim Wilde doing better than I thought I hope she can stay top 15. Alexandra Burke I can see falling all week and prob miss the top 20.

Posted by: Jonjo 20th March 2018, 02:41 AM

It's OK. Shawn Mendes is coming next week biggrin.gif hopefully he can get a big debut with his new one!

Kim Wilde has done very well - potentially her first top10 album in years. It’s a pretty decent album with an 80s sound. Best thing she has done in a long time!

Don't think it was released in the UK but Come Out And Play from a few years back is fantastic. I'd say here best, if you've not heard it I recommend you give it a few listens.

Personally, I have not been enjoying the previews of this album, although the Duran Duran The Reflex inspired song sounds good.

Very true up to another 11 to his already ridiculous amount (I know he wasn’t number 2 allweeks)

Why add 11 then?

Posted by: M4NG0 20th March 2018, 09:54 AM

I'm actually really enjoying 'Here Come The Aliens'. It's got some great melodies on it. Who knew a Kim Wilde album in 2018 could be quite good?

Posted by: The Hissmobile 20th March 2018, 10:20 AM

The Kim Wilde album sounds good. Good exploration of the new wave sound. Although there should have been a big sounding synthpop song like her version of You Keep Me Hangin On on the album too imo!

Posted by: Bjork 20th March 2018, 10:42 AM

I also think Kim Wilde could go top 5, maybe it was just wishful thinking cos sales are so low
but she's actually never been an album seller, not even at her most popular times
even when You keep me hangin'on went to #1, her parent album Another Step peaked at #73
and actually her last 5 studio albums have all missed the top 100

She got to #2 with that in UK. She had the #1 in the USA. Album went top 40 in the USA on the back of it
Kims never had a UK #1

You keep me Hangin' On only went to #2 in the UK, was held off the top spot by Berlin's Take My Breath Away.

But it did go #1 in some countries, including in America.

Almost certain at this point (same for Dua and Kendrick so we could be having a nice top 10 reshuffle next week)

I bet NOW Running 2018 is the reason why “Havana” is close to returning to the top 30

Let me guess... they SHOULD have included her new single instead, people SHOULD be downloading or streaming it now we're in 2018, they SHOULD have made it album only.

Neither “Havana” or NBTS. They ain’t the kind of songs you can run to. If NBTS was included instead, it would have been their way of saying that it’s definitely gonna be on NOW 99

On investigation, this sounds like a lovely album. Sad to see it is flopping.

Any idea what the sales gap is between 10 and 11 on the album chart? Would be great if Alexandra can climb up one more position and go top 10.

George Ezra’s album is amazing, surely a #1 next week (album & song preferably kink.gif)

How have you heard it already?

Posted by: pippa 22nd March 2018, 02:44 PM

Alexandra Burke looks safe to outpeak her second album. That said, it would be nice if she could sneak into the top 10. I do fear she will have a massive fall next week.

It's out in Australia as it has hit midnight on the east coast.

Are the chances of Drake falling out of the top 10 with ACR quite high?

approximately 150 copies, but it seems rather unlikely that she'll even keep #11 as albums by the likes of Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith could easily overtake.

Very unlikely. He'd be sitting at #7 in yesterday's mids if he had ACR, and #6 when you put Dua on ACR as well (as she will be next week).

Thanks for this. Didn't take their older albums into account. dry.gif

I suppose a peak between 10-20 is still better than what I was expecting before this week with how Shadow has performed so far, even with the low sales climate.

Surely no one is surprised at any artist getting a nice peak these days, Kim Wilde and Melanie C are getting their highest positions with their latest albums in forever tells you everything. Sales are low and to be a successful album these days you need to linger in the charts for months on end.

Going #13-78 isn't going to cut it for anyone.
