Having released his new single OA/OS at 12pm on Friday, Justin Bieber could be set to achieve his first ever UK #1 single with his song 'What Do You Mean?', with a VMA performance and music video premiere still to come this week. Looking to fend him off is Demi Lovato, who also hopes to achieve her first ever #1 with track 'Cool For The Summer', but both of these tracks will have to overcome the current UK #1 from Rachel Platten. Other new entries may come from 'Downtown" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, 'For A Better Day' by Avicii, 'Roots' by Imagine Dragons and instant grat tracks 'Hair' by Little Mix and 'Jet Black Heart' by 5 Seconds of Summer. There seems to be a battle for the #1 album this week also, with The Weeknd's heavily hyped album 'Beauty Behind The Madness', home to top 40 hits 'Earned It', 'The Hills' and 'Can't Feel My Face', taking on 'What Went Down' by Foals. Jess Glynne will also be looking to hold the #1 spot with 'I Cry When I Laugh'. Other new entries could come from 'Feline' by Ella Eyre, 'Depression Cherry' by Beach House, "Bad Magic" by Motorhead and 'Badlands' by Halsey among others. ======================================================== Structure for the week: Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed. Thursday: See Tuesday. To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action please refer to the iTunes thread topic. |

What kind of sales do you predict for The Weeknd? I'd say 70k.

I think Little Mix will miss out sadly - 5SOS got higher with Fly Away and still missed the top 40. No big deal anyway cause Hair isn't single #2, otherwise I'd be concerned!
Macklemore could well make the top 40 with airplay set to kick in, could be close though. Justin for #1 please, I think he will actually manage it too what with the VMA performance tonight and the music video coming tomorrow! Oh and I think your top 10 prediction is pretty spot on there, Dan. |

Demi is also performing at the VMA's tonight so she might get a boost too.

What kind of sales do you predict for The Weeknd? I'd say 70k. As in the album? Nowhere near that surely, he's not going to outsell Jess Glynne. Probably about half that at absolute most I'd have thought. (I'm hoping he won't even be #1 as I want Foals to get there but not sure about that). |

Some album chart predictions;
#1 The Weeknd (45k) #2 Foals (35k) #3 Jess Glynne (25k) #4 Cilla Black (15k) Top 10 - Ella Eyre Top 20 - Beach House, Halsey Top 40 - Motorhead Would quite like to see Beach House gain a new 'personal peak' for themselves, think Depression Cherry will achieve a similar result to Bloom. |

(I'm hoping he won't even be #1 as I want Foals to get there but not sure about that). I would've thought he'd do around 50k at least - he's garnered huge attention the last year, plus his album is doing really well on streaming. He's also got 3 tracks from the album top 100 at the moment ("Can't Feel My Face", "The Hills" & "Prisoner"). This post has been edited by Envoirment: 30th August 2015, 02:42 PM |

^ Well that's confirmed Foals will be #1
(@ Seven) Maybe I'm wrong but I don't really think The Weeknd is likely to be a MAJOR album seller, though he'll probably have fairly decent longevity (much better than Foals at least). |

Bish you dare throw your shade at the same person who told y'all Jess would sell around 60k last week whereas everyone else insisted she wouldn't. ny2 Yeah The Weeknd won't be a 'major' album seller just yet, I think all the hype around this new album will give him the edge over Foals and he'll manage a good few weeks or so in the Top 10. Curious to see if he picks up any more big hits with this era |

Yea, I'm thinking 70k or so just based on the initial information that it will exceed the to date sales of Kiss Land in one week in the US. But anything over 50k is pretty good I'd say.

Hope Jess's album stays on top and continues to sell well as it's great, and that comes from a 55 year-old!

Mint Royale seems to have been busy today on Twitter, though his posts about midweek chart information is a bit thin on the ground.
1. Justin Bieber 2. in his own words, an "excitingly close chart battle for number 2 between Demi and 5SOS" 13 Little Mix (I'm not sure if we are allowed to post midweek info before a Monday so mods please delete this if it isn't allowed). |

No that's cool Robbie, thanks for posting!
5SOS I forgot they were gonna re-enter this week, certainly didn't think they'd be that high even this early into the week though! |
