Possibly my favourite artist at the moment, he's made some totally infectious tracks over the last 6 months! Had a top 40 hit in the US with Look At Me! and he recently released a new album - which is totally brill.

'Garette's Revenge' belongs in the indie forum more, but here it is anyway. Totally sublime.~

He started his first ever US tour two weeks ago, and since then all this has happened on tour-

- He got trampled on by a crowd and couldn't get up
- He got in a full fist fight with someone on stage
- He got knocked out by a random man
- Someone had to be taken to intensive care at one of his shows in the crowd
- A fan got stabbed at a show
- His computer got hacked and every single song he's ever made got leaked
- His cousin got shot so he's now postponed his tour

Safe to say the tour hasn't particularly gone well

He's just released the album '17' which has done rather well so far - especially on streaming. it's another brilliant work from him, with the exception of 'f*** Love'.

This guy is very INTRIGUING to say the least - I was a bit put off the first time I listened to 'Look At Me!' by the super distorted instrumental but that has really grown on me, I have listened to and enjoyed a couple of his other songs as well.

However, I have been a bit addicted recently to this song by Ski Mask The Slump God who is a friend and frequent collaborator of X:





(also his name is either the best or worst name for a rapper ever, I cannot decide which x)

Enjoying the chill vibes on "Jocelyn Flores" at the moment, amazing how well that's done for him already. "Look At Me" is still my favourite of his though, a shame that never crossed over to the UK properly

I'm still trying to figure out most of this video, but he says some incredibly touching and important things about racism and inequality here. There are theories going around that the idea of 'Look At Me!' was to represent typical rapper cliché's and boasts in the most out there and explicit way possible.. yet the video contrasts that and pokes fun at said cliché's - and all culminates in him rapping somewhat of a 'part two' to the song, in which he discusses the REAL issues that the mainstream media fail to cover, like racism and discrimination. It's bloody brilliant, got a lot of respect for him shedding light and bringing attention to this, no matter how weird his method of choice was.

Yeah, that's him! He's totally blowing up at the moment. Changed his character from being a bit of a screamo freak to someone that raises awareness for depression and discrimination in society.

Just given the new album a listen and I really liked it, a lot more chilled than expected but it's surprisingly easy on the ears in comparison to stuff like "Look At Me!"

I think my favourite aside from "Jocelyn Flores" is probably "f*** Love" (lol at that being your least favourite, mdh!!!!) but the whole album is pretty great, will definitely be going back to it !

Well he just casually dropped his biggest charting hit yet (#26 UK, #17 US) and also my favourite of his so far but that's not hard considering past quality

I liked his early shouty stuff and 'Jocelyn Flores' was ok as well but this other emo/R&B stuff he's doing now is pretty cringeworthy. 'SAD!' is just awful.

Oh my god. It was only recently that I'd got into his music, didn't really pay attention after a bad first impression from Look At Me last year, but listened to 17 and ? quite a few times now over the past few months. I knew that he'd definitely been living a somewhat dangerous life with what happened on tour, but I can't believe he's just gone like that.

I’m lost so got SAD! for the first time. I’m finding it kinda hard to enjoy after all the negative things I have heard about him in the last few days. I wanted to at least his give his music a chance though as I hadn’t heard any before and didn’t even know much about him until after he sadly passed away

I'm not one of his fans at all, and some of the stuff he did as a person is terrible, but I have to say I've always liked SAD!
It's a really well-written song and it's great to see it doing so well now despite all the hate his songs have been given even (and the complete absence of radio play) after he's been killed. I hope it reaches the top ten.
