In Memory of Tim Bergling "Avicii" (1989-2018)

Hello everyone.
This week was torture for me to make my new chart, because.... well, 2 big things happened.

One was the new Ariana Grande song that was released on Friday, but the bigger news was... well... Avicii. He passed away at the very young age of 28 in Oman. The news about Avicii's passing was devastating to me, I always liked Avicii's music and even the songs I find disappointing from him are great songs. And it's a shame that one of the big Dance music legends died.

Either way, Ariana & Avicii, both put my chart on high alert and it's not just them, there are A LOT of Debuts, big gains and major drops. Keep in fact, the big drops will not last long, many songs will rebound next week (or not).

So, yeah, let's begin.
"One Kiss" by Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa stays at #1 for a third week in the closest chart battle in my chart since 2014, but "No Tears Left To Cry" was very, very close to get the #1 spot, it will be a hugh hit in my chart.
Another big debut in the top 10 is: "2002" by Anne-Marie, which I heard a lot of criticism, but in my opinion, I like the song and heard it a lot that it made at #7, but it could gain even bigger thanks to her album dropping next week.
Alright, let's get to Avicii. He has 11 songs that re-enter my chart after his passing, these are "The Nights" at #13, "Wake Me Up" at #24, "Waiting For Love" at #29, "Hey Brother" at #35, "Addicted To You" at #48, "For A Better Day" at #49, "The Days" at #62, "Without You" at #68, "Levels" at #80, "Broken Arrows" at #84 and "Lonely Together" at #98.

Songs that reach high peaks in the top 40 are:"Remind Me To Forget" by Kygo & Miguel at #11, "Say Amen (Saturday Night)" by Panic! At The Disco at #12, "Like A Lion" by Mark Forster feat. Gentleman at #16, "Zusammen" by Die Fantastischen Vier feat. Clueso at #21, "Sit Next To Me" by Foster The People at #23, "Love Lies" by Khalid & Normani at #25, "Flames" by David Guetta & Sia at 27 and "What I Wanna" by MoStack at #31.

Outside of Ariana and Anne-Marie, big debuts in the top 40 are: "Familiar" by Liam Payne & J Balvin at #28, "First Time" by M-22 & Medina at #33, "Tip Pon It" by Sean Paul & Major Lazer at #36 and "Next To Me" by Imagine Dragons at #40.

Other debuts outside the top 40: "Pesto" by Calcutta at #52, "Saturday Sun" by Vance Joy at #54, "Answerphone" by Banx & Ranx feat. Yxng Bane & Ella Eyre at #72, "High Five" by Sigrid at #75, "Best Life" by Cardi B feat. Chance The Rapper at #76, "Nice For What" by Drake at #97, "Ric Flair Drip" by Offset & Metro Boomin at #99 and "Stop Me From Falling" by Kylie Minogue & Gente De Zona at #100.

Nice to see lots of returns for Avicii - I urge you to check out "Friend Of Mine" if you haven't already smile.gif

Great top 2; mirroring the UK this week. Ariana I think would've entered big for me this week had Avicii not taken over (for all the wrong reasons). Calvin also on the climb for me. I suspect both are future number 1s for me.

Also great to see a big climb for Kygo - feeling this one a lot more than the past few singles. The Panic! At The Disco track has been hovering around the #40 position for me - it's good but isn't making a HUGE impact on me.

Nice chart again.

Great that you like the returns for Avicii and I've heard "Friend Of Mine", might chart soon in the Summer in my chart.
Never thought I would mirror the Uk this week, considering I've had "One Kiss" at #1 from the very start.
Both Kygo and Panic! At The Disco could be in the top 10 soon enough in the coming weeks.
Thank you for the comment Midge!

Hi Sergej,

Lovely to see the avicii tributes so sad he was troubled. Lots of good movement in your charts, ariana at 2, panic at the disco doing well, kylie sneaking in, david guetta leaping and much more.

Foster the people is fab too and quite a few i hope to hear soon at the top end of your chart smile.gif

Good stuff!

Hi Sergej

Another chart with a lot of Avicii, thoughts are with his family now sad.gif Addicted to You is one I tend to forget but it is a great song, great to see that enter. Nice to see Levels here as well, and The Nights is a very fitting song to appear so high up also. Waiting For Love is the song that really got me into Avicii, especially the verse (and that lyric video with the dog wub.gif ), and Hey Brother is of course a classic.

Great chart biggrin.gif

Hello John!
It was very shocking to see a young musician die so early. I'm very happy that you like many songs on my chart.
