Marina really needs her re-breakthrough. 'Disconnect' was a great song slightly tarnished by its final version being a bit ropey in the production stakes.

They're filming a music video this week (Thursday and Friday) in L.A. so hopefully we get official confirmation of the single release soon.

I don't think Little Mix are guaranteed anything, but even if they were, I don't think it'd put off Clean Bandit anyway. Rockabye took 3 weeks to peak, Solo took 5 weeks, Symphony took 6, I Miss You took 13 - they never peak first week and Marina is definitely not the kind of artist who's going to break that chain.

Predictably, I love this. Thank god they binned Disconnect as a single and made with a better (and more commercial) song. It reminds me of a modern Mi Chico Latina in the best way. Marina's first top 10 is COMING.

Basic in terms as in picking up on the Spanish infused trend a bit, it reminds me of a ( obviously much better) version of Despacito in places as well as a fair few other Spanishy hits.

This is bloody fab, it has got those on trend Latin flecks but I don't think it sounds too generic or lazy with it, it still feels like it's Clean Bandit and like it's bringing something fresh. They're great at doing that, even when they chase sounds that do fit the chart or clearly are going to be a hit, it never feels lazy or like it's just clambering for a hit.

I love Clean Bandit, but this song is atrocious.

Marina sounds like a strangled cat and the song goes nowhere, has the pointless Luis feature and jumps on the tired latino pop which feels like it went out of fashion ages ago.

The video really brings the song to life for me! It feels like a classic telenovela without appropriating Latin culture.

I found the song a little plodding on the first listen but after a couple of plays, I love Marina's build up to each chorus. I definitely think this will be a #1 contender in the coming months.

i hope this becomes a big hit but I wouldn’t even be surprised if it ended up peaking at #11 just for the curse. I want to see Marina all over the TV this Christmas. I can see there being lots of big promo lined up because it’s leading the album. I think I saw they were confirmed for the Royal Variety again?

Yeah this isn’t the song that should’ve be leading the album. It’s incredibly annoying that they’ve going for the Latin trend that disappeared months ago. Marina’s vocals are boring and Luis adds nothing to the song whatsoever.

It doesn’t even feel like a clean bandit song?

I think it's great, but then I also loved I Miss You so I tend to prefer their more understated stuff. It's certainly an improvement on Solo. And it clearly sounds like Clean Bandit.

I don't think Luis Fonsi is needed though, despite the latin vibe.

Not thrilled on first listen. Marina sounds great but she's doing ALL the heavy lifting here - this might as well be a Marina song. Fonsi is an odd collab choice, feels a bit late in the day to be releasing this, if this was March or so that would be stronger. November...a bit off.

What exactly is the Clean Bandit selling point on this? Isn't their whole thing classical isntruments melded in to their sound? Feels a bit against their M.O.

Might grow but this is not instant for me at all.

Can anyone explain what this song's chances now are of getting added to the Radio 1 / Capital playlists? Is it bad it didn't get added instantly? I know some of Clean Bandit's past hits did, but not all of them?

What are the factors that will determined whether radio takes it up? I really hope it gets a chance to be a hit in this country!

It’s already added to Capital, they’re playing it lots. Radio 1 didn’t insta-add it but they probably added Solo faster because Demi is a much bigger name than Marina, it’ll be added soon!

It's great and another really good single from them, although I don't think it has a patch on anything else this era so far. Marina sounds great but I find Luis a little pointless really, his part is fine but unnecessary.

I'd actually rank the singles this era in the order they were released. Tears remains lush and deserved better chart-wise, even if it was still a more than substantial hit! This is about an 8.5/10 compared to everything before being 9+.

Love this

It's so melodic and the production is on point with the little flairs of Latin instrumentation amongst the Europop! It's not too over the top which I'm grateful for and personally I'm all for it being 'on trend' as it's the best take on Latin music to hit the charts in the last couple of years.

The music video is beautifully shot and I really enjoyed the story line - random to see Starley pop up to play a leading role despite not featuring vocally on the track Love the colours of the dancehall scene and the church building is stunning

Despite my adoration I can see why it's not clicking with everyone - it's not the out-and-out banger that CB have been releasing recently, Marina doesn't stand out as much vocally as she does on her solo tracks and Luis Fonsi doesn't particularly add to the track (nor take away imo) but it comes together as a package really well and it's certainly a grower and a hell of an earworm. The pre-chorus section is stunning!

They're also performing it on Radio 2 tomorrow morning with Marina - the good thing about having a lesser known artist means they can actually perform it with the original artist! I can't imagine Kirsten or Yasmin being able to tackle this.

I’m trying to give this a chance but it’s just not growing on me at all :/ I’ve adored every Clean Bandit single up until now but I don’t think I’ve listened to Baby all the way through without skipping about halfway through since it was released..

Marina sounds great and Luis isn’t too bad but I don’t think they compliment each other well, and there’s only so much that can be done production-wise to mix two very different artists together

Does it usually signify that a song is going to get a decent official chart placing? Or can it not always translate over?

I am so interested to see if this manages to break through in any countries other than the UK. It's not doing well on Spotify anywhere yet, but then a lot of countries are still heavily streaming Solo.

It's doing really well on radio airplay in lots of places... would be really interesting if it managed to break through in the US... the one chart that includes radio airplay.

Any thoughts?
