QUOTE
Us Weekly sources say Warner Brothers has “offered a role” to Lady Gaga in the studio’s Little Shop of Horrors reboot.

We don’t know what role Lady Gaga was allegedly offered, but the Us source said “she’s very interested to keep acting,” which sounds promising. Maybe she’ll play the lead character, Audrey, who works in a flower shop with Seymour (who eventually realizes this one plant is feeding on human flesh, it’s a whole thing). We can only hope.

In case your Spotify playlists aren’t just rotations of Broadway musical cast recordings and Gaga albums, know that Little Shop of Horrors started as a ’60s movie before being turned into a Broadway musical in the ’80s before being turned into a musical movie in the mid-’80s. Gaga seems to have a thing for remakes of remakes, amirite?

OMG. Gahhhh. I really hope they don't go through with a LSOH remake. The 80's one is one of my absolute favourite movies. I know Gaga has the big voice to pull off Suddenly Seymour, but I feel like it needs someone who can hit a higher note, like Ariana in her Carpool, for example. (Gaga's voice feels a bit more "whole" and "full" - if that makes sense laugh.gif)

Enough remakes for her now, IMO. She needs a good original role in a quality movie by a great director next. Not that Bradley Cooper isn't a great director but he's hardly a superstar like Coen brothers, Todd Haynes, Terrence Malick etc.

If I were her I'd be avoiding a remake of an older film. She wants to try and get a good original movie. Surely she will be getting quite alot of offers as she has had an Oscar nomination. I have to say I am totally here for her being Ursula in the Little Mermaid remake though (Poor unfortunate souls omg!)

She's a Jennifer Lopez rather than a Julie Andrews or Jennifer Lawrence laugh.gif She'll get whatever film and director she can get!

The reviews and fans were clear. It's still all very drama school.

Jennifer Lopez was probably the better actress and she just took what she got.

But don't you think that after f-ing Oscar nom she deserves a chance to try and show her versatility as an actress too?

Ur such negative people. Whether u like it or not she's not gonna spend rest of her life traveling around the world and singing rah rah's. There's so much more she can do!

I hope your little tirade was just a tired outburst coz you've definitely made stuff up and attacked for the sake of it. I didn't say she didn't deserve any chance to show her versatility as an actress etc.? I was just agreeing that I (although obvz Im in the minority) found her performance was quite drama school-y and not worthy of an Oscar nom, personally (but it's cool I was v v happy for her - I just didn't think it was all that it was raved to be) but that's the thing, it was really strong considering it was her first major movie acting role as a lead actress and I'm really excited to see what roles she takes on in the future coz she will only grow as an actress.

Nonetheless, my disdain isn't towards her being approached for this role, it's the disdain (as a huge movies fan) that they're planning to reboot one of my all time fave movies. NOTHING to do with Gaga herself..

So yes, I do think "after her f-ing Oscar nom" she does deserve a chance to prove herself as an actress. She didn't even need the Oscar nom to deserve that chance, fyi.

Oh, I apologize, it wasn't targeting just you though... It seems that on this board there are lots of people who think all Gaga should do is just "dance pop" forever, bashing Joanne and voting ASIB singles out of the rates immediately because they are not electro pop, even though she hasn't been this successful since 2010. That doesn't leave much for her to grow artistically. What she does with movies is exactly that, finding new ways to express herself.

Remember that she's an actress from the start too, she WAS studying method acting after all. Everything she has achieved there has been in her dreams for ages.

I agree 100% that the reboot is pointless, especially after seeing all the new Stephen King horror remakes are failing miserably (the first IT was ok).

Yep Audrey is highly rumoured for her!

Ben Platt ( wub.gif ), Harry Styles, Zac Efron & Joseph Gordon-Levitt ( heart.gif ) are rumoured for Seymour

I really hope it's either Ben Platt or JGL! Both would SMASH the part of Seymour. Gaga and one of them + Suddenly Seymour... ok. Take my damn money!!!
