Beyond Radio Tim's Top 150, May 2, 2021

Check out more charts at Beyond Radio

LW/TW/Artist/Song/Peak/Weeks
2 1 MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA Bed Head 1 9
The Atlanta band just released their 6th album since 2006, “The Million Masks Of God” on April 30.
1 2 THE LICKERISH QUARTET Sovereignty Blues 1(3) 15
The former Jellyfish members achieved their 2nd #1 on my chart, after last year’s “Lighthouse Spaceship”, both spending 3 weeks at #1. “Do You Feel Better” just slipped from 9-12 this week. Member Roger Manning Jr. recently also spent 3 weeks at #1 with “The Quickening” and is currently moving up with the very Partridge Family “Love’s Never Half As Good” moving 117-75, an almost assured top 10.
3 3 ONR f/ SARAH BARTHEL Must Stop 3(2) 10
Something about this song from Scotsman Robert David Shields just infiltrates my brain. The song reached the top 25 at Alternative radio earlier this year.
4 4 KEITH URBAN Forever 1(2) 14
I wasn’t sure if Urban would get a #1 song on my chart from his current album but here it is. I do enjoy it when he jams out on the guitar. His latest single, “Out The Cage”, reached #9 on my chart in December while “One Too Many” only made it to #37. ‘Cage’ is his most non-country song to date so we will see how it performs on radio.
5 5 1927 Tell Me A Story 3(3) 12
I resisted having this song hit #1 only because it is 30 years old. It totally brings me back to the INXS/Icehouse era.
7 6 LUCAS HAMMING Falling 5 13
I can’t remember how I came across this song from the Dutch singer and actor. It probably came on as a Spotify suggestion which I am certainly happy about. A nice slice of upbeat pop/rock.
10 7 BOSTON MANOR Brand New Kids 7 15
This is the 3rd song by the British pop/punk band to reach my top 10 in the last year, following “Ratking” and “Plasticine Dreams”.
13 8 FOO FIGHTERS Making A Fire 8 11
The Foos may have simultaneous top 10’s in the next few weeks as “Medicine At Midnight” moves up to #17 this week.
8 9 ALLIE X Glam! 7 12
The Canadian pop singer only reached my top 100 one other time, #62 in 2016 with “All The Rage”. In retrospect, that song should have gone much higher.
12 10 ONE NIGHT ONLY Say You Don't Want It 10 9
Another Spotify discovery, this band had a top 10 hit in the UK in 2008 with “Just For Tonight”. This single from 2010 reached #23.
6 11 YOU ME AT SIX Suckapunch 4 17
This Brit band just scored their highest charter on my chart with this. In 2014 they reached #10 with “Room To Breathe”.
9 12 THE LICKERISH QUARTET Do You Feel Better 9 16
16 13 THE CHAIN GANG OF 1974 Fall Into Me 13 8
This band is the synth-pop side of California native Kamtin Mohager. It will go top 10 next week. He has also been a member of Teenage Wrist and formed a new grungey band Heavenward last year. Teenage Wrist has had 9 songs on my chart, the highest chart “Taste Of Gasoline” at #50. Heavenward’s “Hole” reached #67 last November.
18 14 KYLE FALCONER Stress Ball 14 9
Another Scotsman, this is his first appearance on my chart. He was a member of the band The View that placed 3 songs in the UK top 20 in 2006/07, “Same Jeans” peaking at #3. Funny if you go to One Night Only’s Spotify page the View is a suggested similar band.
15 15 JESSIE WARE Remember Where You Are 15 10
The long-standing BR250 top 10 song gives Ware a 2nd song in my top 15. Last June “Spotlight” reached #10.
11 16 KAMERON MARLOWE Burn 'Em All 8 15
Singing competitions are fuel for a couple of up-and-coming Country artists on my chart. Marlowe was on “The Voice” in 2018 and at #19, Casey Barnes was on “Australian Idol” in 2009. Marlowe was on team Blake Shelton originally (Shelton’s “Minimum Wage” is a former 2 week #1 falling to #20 this week) but was ultimately stolen by Adam Levine.

Hey Tim, welcome to the Personal Charts Forum!

Ooo yay at Glam! Being in your top 10. I feel like this should have been released earlier last year as much as I love it!
Remember Where You Are is a stunning effort from Jessie. What's Your Pleasure is a perfect album imo and I'm so hyped for the deluxe edition!
We're good still doing well? laugh.gif I'm gonna assume the majority of its run has been top 40! I'm second thought, looking at the numbers on the right, the first number after the artist/title is the peak right? laugh.gif
Real Groove flopping everywhere was such a disservice to the song. Dua's input on it was perfect because of what she's been doing the last couple years!
Starstruck hopefully coming for a top peak! An absolute smash for the summer imo. wub.gif
I'm very happy to see Embers on its way up wub.gif smashing song for the UK in Eurovision this year wub.gif

Fantastic chart!

Glam is such a fun song, not a lot of those on the airways currently. This is actually the first album by Jessie Ware that I've been drawn to. Love Dua Lipa, "Hallucinate" spent 2 weeks at #1, and "Future Nostalgia" hit #3. To put in perspective, anything that hits my top 150 is a song I appreciate so a #40 peak is actually not bad considering the competition. I have an insane capacity for music and am tracking hundreds of songs each month that could reach my top 150. "Real Groove" is another fun tune and I've enjoyed much of her current stuff. "Say Something" was a slow burn for me but eventually reached #1. One of my all-time favs from her is the song "Aphrodite". I'm not sure where "Starstruck" will end up but I agree it has a good summer sound.
