Officially 25 today ohmy.gif

First single from Rhythm of Love and the birth of GayIconlie and Sexlie. How do we all feel about it? Can any of us remember it being released? Who of us is of the age where they heard the Steps version before the Kylie one?

It'll remain one of my favourite Kylie classic.

This will always be a Kylie classic, I was too young to remember it coming out, but I can remember having "ROL" on cassette and played it to death, so much the tape ripped out and it kinda went flat. But "BTDYK" will always be in my top 5 fave Kylie songs and well one of my fave songs ever. Also I was watching her music videos on my Ultimate Kylie DVD the other day, and was just amazed at how much she's progressed with each video.

The Steps version, doesn't compare at all, but I did like it at the time, coz I was such a massive Steps fan and thought that they were just great. It's mad that Kylie's version sounds more fresh and modern than the Steps version, which sounds really dated now.

Also yay this is my 2,000 post.

The version she did on her American tour is the best one. But all versions are amazing, one of her best songs.

I do love the Steps version too kink.gif not even ashamed.

Unfortunately I was 3 years old when this came out and do not remember it, sadly I was aware of Steps' horrible abomination first and never liked it.

It's one of the all-time greats though. wub.gif

Epic Kylie song, it has aged wonderfully well.

Yes I have it on vinyl. Great song. Remember it well.

My big sister bought the 7 inch and I used to listen to it and the b side relentlessly.

I remember well her being interviewed on TV am by the late Mike Morris and him praising her becoming "demure". Waited for her appearance on the broom cupboard with Andi Peters after she went in at number 5.

It was of course the beginning of the permanent shift from former neighbours, big selling teen star into a developing pop artist and style icon.

Just loved this era despite the rapid decline in commercial success.
