Marry the Night used to be good, but now it is cheesy and sounds dated. It has cheesy, dinky dink 70s/ 80s synth production, dinky dink dink diiiink, with fake instrumentation. This is a massive problem with most of Born This Way. It does not sound good. It just made it date and age so much faster. It has aged badly.
Edge of Glory has REAL instrumentation and it is the song that has aged the best. Surprise surprise.
Marry The Night now sounds cheesy and old and of its time. It makes the pretentious and overblown video for it even worse now as it does not match the quality of the cheesy music.
Discuss.
lmao no
Whoops please change my vote to yes for the second question
Omg what a poll
Yes and No!
You think it hasn't aged worse than a song with real instrumentstion and sax from Kenny G?
I think they both have aged and are old cheese but I love them!! (MTN more though)
You are reet tbh as most of BTW has aged and is now firmly within the cheese territory!
It's definitely of its time, like if someone released a song with similar production, we would recognise it as late-00s/early-10s, but I disagree with this notion that dated equals bad. Born This Way is still a huge pop record that takes me back to happy times - whether it could be released in 2019 or not really doesn't matter to me.
It always had a very 90s throwback sound to me from when I first heard it, so I don't think so no?
Meekel people have been banned from th seeeet for less than this!
Marry the Night is like a fine wine x
Like a wine left in the open under full sun with no cork.
TWAT MEGA
The second question hard to vote for cus if you vote no it suggests TEOG has aged badly lmao mess delete
Leave MTN alone!!
Also change my vote from no to yes in the second question!!
Oh MY!!!
But it is a GENUINE DISCUSSION
It’s aged worse than The Edge Of Glory.
But I don’t think it’s cheesy
it’s her most overrated single within her fanbase though for sure. With Gagas fans (esp the stans) its like a firm favourite like Bad Romance.

It was never so great at the start. It was always theatrical and over the top, and destined to never really cross over as a pop hit in the 2010s - it may have done better in the 80s with slightly different production as a cult hit.
Has Edge aged better? Yes - that works as a pop song.
Finally, people with taste!
I liked it at the time, but you are right. It is waaay too theatrical and over the top. The production is piss poor too. I liked BTW a little at thr time, but now I hate it snd think it's such a bad, dated album.
68% of people with taste!
EDIT: Now over 70%!
Certainly NOT in both categories.
