Cool, makes me say fair play to him then as it’s a fairly well known song even now.

What no hate for KWS?! Please Go, it should be called, an annoying cover of a great KC & The Sunshine Band record. I saw them do it on the radio one roadshow in Bournemouth - and I still have no nostalgic affection for it

Controversially going for Whitney oops. Dolly's version is far superior and Whitney's got far better songs and this has always been overrated for me... Mind you I can't recall the WWW, Jimmy or Erasure tracks :') might need to listen to them but I doubt I'll change my vote for the next round.
'Stay' is easily the best here |

Thats the spirit, vote without listening to the songs :/ You could have worded that better without the rudeness. Wasn't that I voted without listening as I know I've heard them before, just couldn't totally remember. Anyway I've listened to them again now and whilst none would be sad losses. I'm keeping with Whitney as the other three aren't as overrated as IWALY! This post has been edited by Rob S: 8th March 2021, 08:28 PM |

so did I! Not sure if you want more reviews?
Anyways: "Michael Jackson's very sentimental and well-meaning Heal The World is first out, proving that well-intentioned doesn't stop folk seeing you as cloyingly nauseating. Me, I love a bit of "save The World" messaging, been loving songs on that topic since I was a Junior school hippy ecowarrior, and I see no reason to change now, given the people in charge continue to ignore anyone who has been warning about it since the 60's. So, Michael, totally forgiven. Had it been shorter, a little punchier, less-lushly-produced, it might have struck a wider chord, but it did pretty well all in all despite not being the first track off the Dangerous album. Or the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th. I'm assuming dandy prefers the first 5 singles, all in all!" |

it's close between Michael Jackson and Jimmy Nail for me... but I'm going for Heal the World - it's just too saccharin. The Michael Jackson track too would be my last favourite although it's a nice enough ballad. I like the Jimmy Nail song, reminds me a lot of 90s That That at their best. I’m really new to the idea of branching out from the chart forum so seeing all these interesting polls in the 00s and 90s sections today has been a voyage of discovery!
I voted for IWALY - sorry think it’s a hideous track and definitely the worst ever 10+ week No 1. |
