She hasn't actually said this is a single has she? It could be that she's surprising us with an album in two weeks, and laughing at us because we all think its a single

Of course it makes sense to announce lead single before the album, so I think perhaps we'll get the new album in September??

And for some reason, I feel like this lead single won't be the usually pop style of her previous lead singles (stupid girls/so what/blow me), I feel like this ones going to be a bit more 'grown up'...although of course I could be wrong.

I have a feeling Willow will be in the music video as well judging from her Instagram page

I hope she can still be semi-relevant! She's usually the more reliable one of the big pop ladies. And by that, I mean she tends to get a hit despite being gone for so long etc.. similarly to Kelly (who'd have thought 'Heartbeat Song' would be the hit it was for example?)

First listen: reminds me of Praying in the sense that once the slow parts are over and that beat comes in it's fab! Love the chorus but think it was disjointed a bit towards the end.

First listen.... lyrics are spot on, love it. I'm unsure about the chorus music so far, bit too dancey for me (I actually thought that about BM(OLK) too but I love that track now so not a bad thing!!), but it will probably be a grower on that part.

Its so good to hear her again, I can't wait to hear the rest of the new album

Hmm, I like this, it's current while still being very her but I think it'll take a few listens. I knew it wouldn't be a poppy banger but while listening I felt like I was waiting for it to explode a bit more It felt like it was building but by the end it never got wherever it felt like it was going.

LOVE the piano part, very similar to 'A Sky Full Of Stars' but possibly better!! <33333 I was hoping it'd have a similar big buildup in the chorus as well but it never really did. Not that we need another generic dance breakdown in music right now, I was just expecting her to make more of a statement on this but other than that it sounds fine. Looking forward to hearing it on the radio.

I got the 'Sky Full of Stars' and slight 'Praying' comparisons too.

It's nice, even if it is a bit nondescript. Could grow on me the more I listen to it. I too felt similar about BM(OLK), but that ended up being a huge ear worm. Hopefully this is more "teaser" as opposed to full on lead single. But it's really good to hear her voice on something new again

This is the kind of thing she needed. If she had done another Stupid Girls/So What etc then she would be in danger of losing respect and end up just having a watered down version of a sound she's done for 11 years.
This is modern but without being too trend chasing and still has her own sound to it. Not totally brash but it still packs a punch. i'm glad it's not in your face, it's subtle and
creeps up on you.

First listen, I like it alright. I'm a huge fan so it will definitely grow. Her vocals are great here. Only thing I would say on first listen, it does sound a little Kelly Clarkson in terms of her progression. Still, I like it decently, it does sound mature and is an interesting lead single for her, going against her usual.

I LOVE it on first listen. I agree with Joseph and Grant, I think it's good she didn't just plop out another So What-people have been moaning about 'Pink by numbers' for years. This manages to maintain her identity whilst being a bit more progressive. She's got the slightly dancey backing track but she's avoided just mindlessly chasing trends. I like the lyrics and feel that this is a song that was needed in general right now (though Kesha has sort of done the same). Hope it can be a chart success.

iTunes is a good start and I think it'll be a streaming force too, it's got the right ingredients to be a hit on there but it has enough P!nk to stand out rather than blending in and getting lost.

I haven't followed the charts for a long time, probably since ttal was released and even then I didn't really care/understand them but it's great to see she is at number 1 on iTunes 💕

I may sound a bit thick/old/outta touch here but can someone explain to me how charts work now with music being released on Fridays (when is the weeks official number one announced?) how the streaming thing works and how it affects the charts

The chart now runs from Friday to Thursday, with the official #1 announced on the chart show the following Friday. It may manage to sneak into the top 100 tomorrow, but next Friday is when we'll see it properly impact!

Streaming is much slower than iTunes, but seeing as she's guaranteed to feature highly on the advertised New Music Friday playlist, she should get off to a good start. The initial aim should be the Spotify top 50 - the top 50 are available as a playlist and any new entry into the top 50 sees a big boost the following day

Beyond that, the Hot Hits UK playlist is what we should be aiming for. It's advertised throughout the week and you're kinda screwed if you don't have that on your side! I'm sure she'll be added to that before long, she's a big enough name to warrant a quick add.

Basically two years ago a worldwide release date of a Friday was decided on and the chart was moved from Sunday to Friday and I haven't listened since (who has the time on a Friday night?) chart now counts the week as Friday-Thursday and Radio 1 have a New Music Friday. This move also prompted artists to make their music on air/on sale so tracks are now immediately available to purchase just like Pink today.

She's doing insanely well on iTunes, I doubt she'll make up the Spotify difference to beat Dua Lipa officially but even if she got #2, or top 5, in a year like 2017 where bloody Despacito was #1 for 3 weeks and 17 years into her career will be incredible. Depending on how Spotify goes and how it builds and how it holds up on iTunes I feel she could climb to #1 in the coming weeks, then there's radio play kicking in too.

Much as I hate Dua's song, seeing an all female top 2 in such a male dominated year would be a joy. Plus to see P!nk getting a top 3 hit so far into her career when the likes

To think you can compare P!nk's chart achievements at this point to Madonna just goes to show how underrated she is! Nobody ever expects her to smash liek this and she virtually always does, there's really nobody around from 2000 who could still challenge new stars like Dua Lipa as well as the likes of Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Calvin Harris.

I really like this! I was expecting something less based on some of the 'basic' comments, but the chorus/hook is pretty instant and that riff, while very 2013-14, is really lovely, quite a lush chord progression. I instantly prefer it to Blow Me (One Last Kiss) which never majorly appealed to me.

It will be a two track CD single ( ) with track two currently being 'TBA' but I've heard it won't be an instrumental...hopefully she'll be keeping her tradition of releasing a b-side with the lead single

Top 10 debut for someone 17 years into their career is bloody incredible, I think she'll end up at like #6 by Friday but she'll get top 5 in the coming weeks I feel, streaming is just gonna take a couple of weeks to build enough. She's holding up SO well on itunes *.*

Most artists who rush to #1 will have a similarly quick fall, but that's not happened here! The gap between P!nk and Dua has obviously closed a lot, but that's more because Dua's climbing rather than P!nk falling.

Considering Raise Your Glass missed the top 10 during a time when she was arguably bigger than she is now, anything in the top 10 is FAB. I can see it creeping up in the coming weeks too with the video and her Live Lounge promo.

Has to be one of the most powerful, thought provoking videos I've ever seen. Utterly stunning, perfectly matching the song and its message and totally current with how
the world is now. Every little detail was planned and executed perfeclty. The sound bites were really chilling too.

Pink looks AMAZING

I'm a bit confused about the video, especially the two men gyrating about on the sofa. What is that meant to represent? It's clear by the casting of the video the different types of groups shes trying to highlight but I was a bit lost following the sofa in the car park.

I think Jonjo made a really good point there. Lots of people have been saying how amazing it is for Pink, as a female artist, to be still this successful but really it's impressive for any kind of artist. I mentioned in a chart thread last week, out of the artists that debuted the same year as her, only Coldplay could be compared when it comes to consistency and longevity.

It's incredible, Little Mix are the biggest UK act at the moment and she's more than putting up a fight, she's at 88% of them currently and still gaining plus she's beating Justin Bieber! It's a shame she is only 49 on Spotify but as that builds i think she has a chance to improve on her peak given that her iTunes presence is so strong.
