I just want to say a huge thank you to liamk97 once again, I asked him for help in compiling this thread and he sent me complete up-to-date top 200 chart runs, sales and certifications for everything. Thank you so much!
I will try and keep this regularly updated every Friday (not that Rihanna is troubling the chart much at the moment) but if you notice anything that does need updating, or have any up-to-date information for this, please post it in this thread
Only noticed this now, but you're very welcome! I'll let you know of any further estimates I come across.
MW confirmed that 19 Rihanna singles have passed 500k and 30 have passed 250k (including streams). These are the songs I think make up these totals:
500,000+
01 Diamonds
02 Disturbia
03 FourFiveSeconds
04 Love the Way You Lie
05 Only Girl (in the World)
06 Princess of China
07 Rude Boy
08 Russian Roulette
09 S&M
10 Stay
11 Take a Bow
12 Take Care
13 The Monster
14 Umbrella
15 We Found Love
16 What's My Name?
17 Where Have You Been
18 Who's That Chick?
Can't work out whether 'Don't Stop the Music' or 'Live Your Life' takes the 19th slot; whichever doesn't is very close anyway.
250,000+
01 All of the Lights
02 California King Bed
03 Cheers (Drink to That)
04 Diamonds
05 Disturbia
06 Don't Stop the Music
07 Fly
08 FourFiveSeconds
09 Live Your Life
10 Love the Way You Lie
11 Only Girl (in the World)
12 Pon de Replay
13 Princess of China
14 Rude Boy
15 Russian Roulette
16 S&M
17 Shut Up and Drive
18 SOS
19 Stay
20 Take a Bow
21 Take Care
22 Te Amo
23 The Monster
24 Umbrella
25 Unfaithful
26 We Found Love
27 What's My Name?
28 Where Have You Been
29 Who's That Chick?
30 You Da One
Thanks Liam, phenomenal success in the UK for Rih!
It really is incredible! To compare, Madonna is thought to have 12 songs over 500k and 25 songs of 250k; Kylie has 3 songs over 500k and 13 over 250k; and Britney has 2 songs over 500k and 10 over 250k. Of course, Rihanna has the advantage of most of her singles being released during peak years for sales whereas Kylie and Britney were particularly hit by the low early to mid 00s sales, but it is impressive all the same.
What Now has been certified Silver! Big jump from 121K then!
Some recent updated chart runs and sales for the Anti Era

Thanks Sam! I've been a bit slack updating this but will get round to adding 'This Is What You Came For' and updating 'ANTI' later.
Some more updates, plus I've edited my previous post which includes the current chart runs and sales, and in this post I have 'This Is What You Came For" & her 'Anti' album.
This Is What You Came For (Ft Calvin Harris)
Chart Run = 2-2-3-3-3-3-4-4-4...
Certification = Platinum
Sales = 661,000+
Anti (Album)
Chart Run =7-7-9-9-10-19-15-19-21-23-20-20-18-21-22-22-25-27-22-33-36-21

Too Good (Ft Drake)
Chart Run = 41-23-8-6-7-6-5-5-3- (14/05/16)

The chart runs for 'Needed Me' and 'Kiss It Better' are so annoying. But at least she's still up in the charts with 'Too Good' and 'This Is What You Came For'.
Sales for the Top 8 (#7 aside) best sellers from Rihanna have been revealed by Music Week:
01 Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris - We Found Love 1,551,697

Using sales only data given in January 2016, 'We Found Love' has managed 160k streams, 'Love the Way You Lie' 150k, 'Diamonds', 165k, 'Only Girl' 70k, and 'The Monster' 250k.
'Umbrella' has sold 5.8k in that time.
Thanks Liam!
Thanks to streaming 'Umbrella' will finally become a deserved million seller.
I do not like the sight of her two sub-par Eminem features in that top 8 though
Added in some recent sales/chart runs
Thanks very much Kath and Sam for doing all of this so far, I'll get it updated later!
Kiss It Better - 175,000
Needed Me - 225,000

Too Good has just passed 900,000 sales. Poor Umbrella is going to be pushed down to 9th soon.
TIWYCF has also exceeded 1,200,000 sales, making it her fifth single to achieved double platinum status.
Man Down went Silver on Friday.
'Take a Bow' has become her 19th Platinum single!
Looking at her sales-only list, it would seem 'Where Have You Been' will be next.

I suspect 'Talk That Talk' is on the brink of getting a Silver certification, whilst 'Hard' and 'Pour It Up' might not be that far away either.
From Music Week:
'Work' has gone 2x platinum and is now her third best selling single! Not sure I'd put it anywhere near that high in her discography but pleased to see it do so well nonetheless.
Updated all chart runs!
All UK chart runs updated! Thank you so much to Jay who provided me with up to date chart runs and sales!
My computer won't let me see the front page due to 'dangerous content'. Are there any links or images on the front page?
'Umbrella' confirmed as a million seller with streams in the UK. Currently stands at 1.026m (867,600 sales + 158k worth of streams).

From the OCC:
This is now update to date and includes "Wild Thoughts" which spends its 13th week in the top 40 today
Thanks again to Adam, Liam and Sam for their contributions to this thread!

10. "FourFiveSeconds" [with Kanye West and Paul McCartney] 521,572 (1,000,169)
I'll update the original posts now ;o
I don't think Work/Too Good would even be in her top 15 pure sales but I suppose for after 2015 they're actually really good pure sales Yayyyy at Umbrella and FFS at 1m <3
Thanks for the Top 10 list, Theo! *.*
Too Good is the second lowest, French Montana's Unforgettable has only managed 148,756 downloads!

Including streams and dating back to, I think, July.
Thanks for that list, Liam K!
Interesting that "Take a Bow" has (re-)overtaken "Disturbia", the latter was certified Platinum four months before the former. Also 100,000 for "Rude Boy" in just over a year is great I can't believe "Where Have You Been" isn't in her top twenty best-sellers though! Probably the largest omission barring the singles from her first two albums. Hopefully "Wild Thoughts" will be top twenty by year end!
Thanks Liam bb! <3 'What's My Name' should be a million seller soon and hopefully it won't be too long for Stay and S&M
"Live Your Life" has become Rihanna's 21st Platinum-certified single in the UK! She also has more the most certified songs of any other artist here!
Updated this with sales of "Love the Way You Lie" and "The Monster" thanks to OCC.
"Lemon" charts at #31 officially this week
"Wild Thoughts" ended 2017 as the UK's 13th highest selling single! It should be very close to passing 1 million combined sales too.
Both "Wild Thoughts" and "Lemon" have re-entered the Top 100 this week following the departure of all of the Christmas songs. "LOYALTY." has also been certified Silver for combined sales of 200,000!
"Needed Me" is Rih's 15th Platinum single as a lead artist and 25th in total! 👑
"Wild Thoughts" is Rihanna's 11th million-seller and among the UK's top 300 best 'selling' singles of all time
"California King Bed" has been certified Gold recently.
We also have sales updates for "Umbrella" (1.1 million) and "Run This Town" (511,000) which is over 100,000 combined sales more than its last update in June 2017!
According to Music Week on 5th April, "What's My Name?" was due to become Rihanna's record 13th millionaire the following week so I have updated its total to reflect that. If anyone knows what her 12th millionaire was so that I can update its sales, I'd appreciate it
They also gave her all-time UK singles sales at 36,881,585
^ I assume it's 'Stay' that has passed 1m. 'S&M' can't be far behind though.
UK Albums
192 (RE) Good Girl Gone Bad
1,966,497 total
'SOS' is now certified Gold (400,000)
"Lemon" is Silver! Only one more until she has 50 certified songs *.*
I wonder which song is the next most likely to cross over 200k? 50 certified singles will be an incredible accomplishment.
Only just noticed SOS making it to Gold. 12 years on and I'm still a little annoyed to see it's chart run being cut so short because of the stupid rules of the time. :')
Here are a couple of up to date totals:
2,016,406 - LOUD *.* Omg at this crossing over 2m!
243,862 - ANTI
Loud definitely ahead of Good Girl Gone Bad! 1,966,497 for GGGB as of Fri 20th April 2018.
~~~
Here's the updated chart run for Good Girl Gone Bad - the chart run on the first page has 269 weeks accounted for, but it now has 275 weeks!
Wow at that ANTI chart run Obviously it’s being helped massively by streaming, I wouldn’t think it would’ve done much more than 100k on pure sales. Sorry to pester you again, but do you have any idea at all ANTI’s proportion of sales to streams?
I wish I did, but sadly not! It'd be very interesting to know that.
When it comes to this week alone though, only 6.23% of its sales came from physicals/downloads. (50 copies ). 93.77% from streaming, 753 units. Overall, 803 sales to be #164 this week.
Thank you for all that additional info, Jay! *.* I will work on adding it to the OP ASAP!
I'm in two minds about 'Loud' officially being her highest seller. Obviously it's a huge achievement to have two albums over/close to 2 million sales but it is well-documented that she isn't really here for it any more. In an ideal work, 'Anti' would be well over 2 million but that messy release strategy (and her being branded a flop by the media) didn't help sales
Thank you once again for all the info, Jay! I have now added those chart runs into the opening posts
I have also edited the features/non album singles post so that the format is the same as the album-specific posts. Hopefully it's easier to read now and one can find the information that one may be looking for.
'Who's That Chick' now on 660k as of April 2018, according to a David Guetta countdown on MTV Club.
"We Found Love" is now certified 3x Platinum (1,800,000)
"Unfaithful" is now certified Platinum (600,000)
Wild Thoughts is now certified 2x Platinum (1,200,000)!
Her 8th multi-platinum single (DJ Khaled & Bryson's first).
I didn't even realise it'd sold over a million! I'm not paying enough attention, clearly.
I'd say most of her other multi-platinum singles seem worthy of having achieved that status, although 'Too Good' sticks out for me as being undeserving of being within her Top 8 best sellers. I'll always find it crazy that out of all of her singles, it was that which provided her with her lengthiest run inside the UK Top 10 (16 weeks).
"The Monster" has been certified 2x Platinum - Rihanna's eighth single to achieve double platinum status! Its last total was 1,080,000 exactly a year ago so it is averaging 120,000 sales per year.
We have a new sales update for "Princess of China"! It's now on 798,000 and selling roughly 3,600 copies per month, so could become a million seller within the next 4-5 years
"Umbrella" is now certified 2x Platinum (1,200,000)!
Her 10th multi-platinum single in the UK, tying Ed Sheeran for the most of all time.
Umbrella is still my fave
Any idea when GGGB the album will pass 2,000,000 sales?
Should be soon hopefully.
Be interesting to see Rated Rs total sales now as well.
Love The Way You Lie just certified 3x platinum
From the OCC, in celebration of International Women's Day:
^ It does! What a smash *.*
Some new info: Good Girl Gone Bad recently passed 2 million sales in the UK, it's now on 2,001,956 as on 8th March. ANTI had sold 272,632 as of 1st March.
Good Girl Gone Bad has now spent 303 weeks in the UK Top 200, ANTI has managed 129 weeks. I'll get the chart positions together soon!
Million sellers are becoming so irrelevant its so sad.
Opening posts are now updated, thanks again Jay!
I'd consider What's My Name? a worthy million seller / classic personally!
Also to be fair This Is What You Came For was one of the biggest smashes of 2016 (5th best seller), and 3 years is a little too early to be able to properly determine what will go on to be a memorable classic!
Well, speaking of million-sellers, "FourFiveSeconds" has just been certified 2x Platinum (1,200,000)!
Rihanna's 11th multi-platinum single, breaking a tie with Ed Sheeran.
This Is What You Came For has been certified 3x Platinum, Rihanna's third single (and second Calvin collab) to reach 1.8 million combined sales!
I loved This Is What You Came For at the time of release I think it was a two or even three week #1 in my chart. I rarely go back to it now though and whenever I do all I can hear is Taylor Swift in the chorus
Was just going to post this!
I gasped at the 14 years bit though! Still remember this taking off.
Even though it's pre-mega stardom Rihanna, I feel it's worked its way to become a real classic in her discography and fits nicely alongside some of her big smashes. SOS and Unfaithful were probably bigger hits at the time but Pon de Replay feels a lot bigger now, although SOS still feels quite big.
Pon De Replay has sold more in the UK now than SOS and every album released has 1 or more platinum single.
Platinum exactly 2 years after it went Gold A third of its overall total occurring 12-14 years after it was a hit. The joys of streaming! It had sold 125,000 copies by the end of 2005 (which was pretty reasonable for the time).
'Shut Up & Drive' feels a bit out of place in that list of Silver certifications - I feel like a Gold certification can't be far off.
List of uncertified singles that reached the Top 100:
American Oxygen
Hard (with Jeezy)
If I Never See Your Face Again (with Maroon 5)
If It's Lovin' that You Want
Nothing is Promised (with Mike Will Made It)
Right Now (with David Guetta)
Selfish (with Future)
Sledgehammer
Towards the Sun
Wait Your Turn
We Ride
Some of her 2x platinum hits feel smaller than some of her platinum ones tbh. Just goes to show the power of streams.
Even Needed Me being platinum and SOS, Russian Roulette and Run This Town just gold adds to that.
Wow, thanks so much for the complete list Liam!! *.*
Pon de Replay is in the same vein as Kevin Lyttle 'Turn Me On' and Eminem 'Shake That' where literally everyone will get down and dirty on the dancefloor. Definitely one I hear very regularly and just doesn't get old.
"Hate That I Love You" (ft. Ne-Yo) is now Gold (400,000)
It's her 33rd Gold single, and she becomes the first female artist to surpass 30M certified song units!
MusicWeek updated some of her sales,
ANTI - 291,630
Loud - 2,060,064
Talk That Talk - 1,077,121
They also mention Good Girl Gone Bad "has also broken the 2m barrier", and Diamonds is at 1,545,807.
So ANTI sold 19K copies in the past 28 weeks. It should get to Platinum in 3-4 months, maybe faster than that with a possible new album boost.
Thank you for these updates!
Good Girl Gone Bad - 2,024,803
Ooh thanks for those! That's crazy that Anti isn't even Platinum yet 🙃 Hopefully if we get some news about R9 soon it will boost sales
Unfortunately I don’t I knew the Good Girl Gone Bad sales because it’s in the UK Top 200 album chart this week!
How many females have 2 albums (studio albums!!) on 2m sales in the UK.
I can only think of Dido and Adele from the top of my head!
"Consideration" ft. SZA is now Silver (200,000)!
That was unexpected, impressive! Her 49th certified track in the UK.
Go Consideration!!!
Being track one on the album may have helped this out but it is one of the better album tracks.
"Stay" has just become her 12th Multi-Platinum song! She's tied with Ed Sheeran for the most of all time (12).
Anti is now platinum in the U.K.!
Russian Roulette has gone platinum!
Love On The Brain is now Gold in the UK (certified on 12/20)!
PS: I got the totals of KIB & LOTB mixed up when I posted them a cpl weeks ago, sorry!
Thank you for the updates, Lucas and George.keh! Impressive to see Love On The Brain go gold!
Desperado is silver
"Sex With Me" is now Silver 7th track from ANTI to achieve this!
"Shut Up And Drive" is now Gold
Rihanna has 4 entries in the 100 biggest female albums of the century.
12. Loud
13. Good Girl Gone Bad
59 Talk that Talk
97 Unapologetic
2,081,085 - Loud
2,050,922 - Good Girl Gone Bad
Love On The Brain going gold is amazing <3 I think the catalogue 'sales' of the singles show that although none of them bar Work were big at the time they have a legacy and are deffo way more remembered than you'd think. Although I'd say Needed Me was fairly big, it had a fab chart run despite the #38 peak and tbf I don't think it was sent to radio here?
Omg yas at three album tracks being certified silver, one more to go then we're at 50% of the masterpiece <3 I'm not sure what will come next if anything (in the near future at least), 'Yeah, I Said It' is the next album track down in Spotify streams although it's kinda far between it and the top three. Close to you, Higher and Same Ol' Mistakes aren't far behind YISI () so maybe I'm wildly overestimating but if that's certified soon they could be too.
ANTI may not have the pure sales of her other albums but I'd say the album tracks are her best known ever. Justice.
'If I Never See Your Face Again' has sold 130k as of February 2020, according to an MTV Maroon 5 countdown.
I'm bored so I worked out the sales chart run for ANTI ;o
[Entry: 11/02/16] 06-07-13-16-19-26-28-32-36-38-40-51-40-37-
47-45-52-62-74-92-71-46-70-99-98-92-95-x [Out: 18/08/16]
[RE: 01/09/16] 98-x
Total: 28w
So it spent 60 weeks on the overall chart but only 28 on the sales chart Interesting that it still would've peaked higher on sales even though there wasn't even a CD out in the first week :') 60 weeks in the top 100 is her 4th highest behind GGGB, Loud and Rated R but on sales, only Music Of The Sun spent less. I wonder how much it's sold pure? 100-150k?
It shows that despite Kiss It Better flopping () It still had more of an effect on the album than it's chart run would as it went back into the top 40 sales. Needed Me (which was a legit hit) and LOTB didn't do anything at all D:
I agree it's not bad, I'm happy with it's overall performance I just wish it'd sold more in it's first few weeks. Despite the messy release it really should've sold a bit more initially tbh oops
Had it come out in November 2015 it probably would’ve sold more in it’s opening weeks although idk how it would’ve affected the peak.
I'm still amazed she never put Four Five Seconds, BBHMM and American Oxygen on the album - what was the reason for that?
Even for 2016 that’s....bad I can’t believe so few people purchased such an amazing album! At a rough estimate, let’s say it sold 1.5k pure sales a week for the rest of its run on the sales chart. (Is that too generous? I know pure album sales in 2016 were down a bit but they were much much better than now) 1.5 x 26 = 39k, which would put it around 66k and maybe 75k total pure sales? Eek. Let’s stick to the combined chart with Rih for anything post FourFiveSeconds x
We will likely get a full update at some point this year for new Rihanna album sales totals for every era when we get R9.
The OCC tend to do that when there’s a new release on the way. We’ve just had a big update with Gagas career sales. It’ll be great to see what her catalogues sold lately. GGGB, Loud and ANTI are likely selling the most per week I’d imagine
Am I right in saying GGGB is catching up on Loud? I’m sure I remember the gap being larger than that not long ago. Also do you know when ANTI was last in the top 200? Sorry to question you
It is indeed catching up, but very slowly!
The gap between their sales on 10th April 2020 was 30,163, but now 10 weeks later it's 29,305. Loud is managing 799 sales per week on average, while Good Girl Gone Bad is 885 a week on average. If they continued to do that every week, Good Girl Gone Bad wouldn't overtake Loud until January 2027(!) by which point they'd have both sold 2,362,000.
As far as I can tell the last time ANTI was Top 200 was on 1st March 2019, which was its 129th week in the chart! At that point it had sold 272,632. Since then there's a couple of charts I don't have access to - 19th April 2019 and 14th June 2019, so I'm not sure if it might have re-entered on either of those dates unfortunately.
ANTI went Platinum on 13th December 2019, an increase of more than 27,368 since 1st March 2019. That's 41 weeks, or 667.5 sales a week. #200 is usually always more than 700+, often 800+, so it must be quite far off Top 200 in most weeks. If it continued to sell at that rate, ANTI would be on 318,000+ now!
Thanks for that! <3
I’ll keep a look out in January 2027 then
ANTI is higher than GGGB and Loud on the Apple Music Albums chart so it’s weird it’s ‘selling’ much less. Hopefully it can re-enter when R9 comes.
It’s somehow been 4 months since Rih got any BPI certification, imma need to pour some water on this drought aka give streams.
The songs that are below 200k (Silver) that are most likely to get there anytime soon, just browsing through the first post of this topic I’d say are If I Never See Your Face Again, Hard (I thought this had gone Silver already for some reason mess) or another album track from ANTI, probably either Yeah, I Said It or Same Ol’ Mistakes although the three already certified (Consideration, Sesperado and Sex With Me) are quite far ahead on Spotify! The streams for the ANTI album tracks are wayyyyy ahead of her other albums.
Rehab, Te Amo, Cheers, What Now and Kiss It Better are next in line for gold I think
Believe It should go Silver next week, or maybe the one after.
ANTI in the UK at least I think was ahead of its time slightly but it’s rare that female albums what are the genre of ANTI sell in large amounts. Platinum is still great though there’s not many females who’ve had 7 platinum albums in a row! Especially females who debuted in the 2000s decade too!
GGGB is a better streamer than Loud isn’t it? I wouldn’t mind if one day it did overtake Loud as it does feel like peak Rihanna and it was her longest era too as it’s the only one to get a re release.
So I've done some pointless number crunching (I have actual work to do ffs) and I've estimated that ANTI had sold 78,000 pure sales by September 2016. At most I assume that would've grown to 90,000?
Every single from ANTI now at least gold Love On The Brain for plat next ty!
ANTI really had some hits! 4 hits at least Gold! Those peaks don’t match the impact.
I always wish Kiss It Better managed to sneak into the top 40 I really felt like it was going too
On the 13/12/19, Kiss It Better had sold 377,600 (ty Lucas ) so that's an increase of 22.4k in 25 weeks, approx 896 copies per week. Everything could change between now and then lmao but it should be plat by 2025. On worldwide Spotify, Needed Me gets about 3.7x KIB's daily streams (last time I counted Needed Me went up 274k in a day and KIB 74k, see the iTunes & Spotify thread x), if that translates to sales over here then Needed Me is shifting c. 3.3k a week. I know Needed Me was biggest in America by far but if it's doing even half of that then it should easily be over 800k. Love On The Brain on that same day got 4.7x KIB's streams so again if it's doing even half of it it should be platinum by the end of next year. I could be totally wrong
New certifications (July 17th):
Te Amo - Gold [400k]
Believe It - Silver [200k]
Believe It was expected but yay
I just realised that Hate That I Love You was certified Gold before Shut Up and Drive? What?
Happy for Te Amo. That’s 3 gold tracks here now from the Rated R era.
She’s really smashing it that’s now 37 gold tracks she has now in the UK. That’s some seriously impressive stats right there!
Out of curiosity how has streaming affected Te Amo. Is most of those sales paid for?
Love the Way You Lie Pt. II is Silver!
Her 53rd track to do so!
"Loud" now has 7 certified songs in the UK! And the album only has 11 tracks. Amazing
Very Impressive, always thought it should've been a single.
Impressive *.* I can't believe a Rihanna and Nicki collab is one of three songs on an album not be certified :') Idec that Nicki is problematic af, I need a Round Two between them to correct...that first collab.
"Loud" has now gone 7x Platinum (2,100,000)!
She now has 7 million certified album units in the UK.
Most of those will be purchased ALBUMS as well. Pure sales legend!
What a huge smash!!
And an album to do it without a re-release too when a lot of big eras around that time ended up getting re releases the following Q4.
Pretty close to it's 10th Anniversary too! How appropriate
What an album
"What's My Name" is now 2x Platinum!
Her 13th multi-platinum single + she's the first female artist to surpass 40 million total certified units in the UK!
I had no idea that was coming!! AFSC made me realise just how much of a fave it was, still so fresh
Impressive stuff.
It’s actually done great as by her standards at the time of release it felt like an underperformance.
Pretty much all of Rihanna’s material post Unapologetic was ahead of time in terms of it being the sound what streams so well now. Like if this was released in 2020 it would be a long running top 5 smash.
It only seemed like an underperformance at the time because it flopped on pure sales in a time where you still needed them to be high up on the chart. Issa hit.
Agreed, I imagine 'Hard' is next in line to go Silver.
'If I Never See Your Face Again' was on 130k as of February 2020 according to a Maroon 5 countdown on MTV. I'm guessing 'If It's Lovin' That You Want' and 'Right Now' are both above 100k, possibly 'Selfish' too.
Interesting Stuff
New total for 'Umbrella' - 1,540,790 as of w/e 4th March.
7x Platinum for 'Good Girl Gone Bad'!
2,100,000+ copies sold!
