Top 100 for the 1st June 2019

Pete's Chart Commentary
Well, when I posted my chart last Saturday I was really expecting Eurovision to still be at the top of my chart this week. However it soon became clear that wasn't going to be the case.

The first song which came up was the return of the Kaiser Chiefs, who released their new single Record Collection. It didn't do much for me on first listen but it grew really quickly and I soon saw it as a #1 potential. However it began to fade away, and the second song which I discovered was a new song by Walk Off the Earth, in tribute to late bandmate Mike Taylor aka 'Bead Guy' who died last December. Mike's Song is an incredibly touching tribute and a heartwarming song, and one I've not been able to stop playing all week. It also gives Walk Off the Earth their first #1.

The rest of the chart consists of basically songs climbing or falling a couple of places, the big exception to this being Soldi which drops a massive 23 places and behind half of the other Eurovision songs. The Euro-barrage also means that new entries are debuting 15/20 places lower than they should be - this is certainly the case for the only other one which managed to sneak in, Two Door Cinema Club's 'Dirty Air', which is another great output from them. We also have a few re-entries from songs which really deserve higher peaks, and some more mainstream tracks entering the lower realms of the chart.
