She has just said she will be revealing the name of the new lead single for Joyride "within days".

I feel like we shall be getting it one of the next few Friday's for sure. She's been really hinting recently that she is ready to go this month.

Posted by: lewistgreen 10th March 2017, 10:23 AM

It's called Flame and is due for release on the 16th

Posted by: Davidson 10th March 2017, 10:34 AM

Apparently it is a big dramatic pop song and is being described as "Katy Perry big"

I'm not sure how I feel about that Katy Perry comparison but we shall see. I wanted her to make another '2 On' or 'All Hands On Deck' style bop but make it even more commercial but it sounds like they are still going all out pop.

I'm hoping it's good no matter what genre.

Posted by: Davidson 10th March 2017, 09:50 PM

Apparently this is produced by BloodPop and Stargate.

That does sound pretty promising.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 10th March 2017, 09:57 PM

What have BloodPop produced before?

What have BloodPop produced before?

Among other things...

Justin Bieber - Sorry
Kendrick Lamar - Swimming Pool (Drank)
Kiesza - Giant In My Heart
Lady Gaga - Perfect Illusion
Major Lazer - Get Free
MO - Drum

Oh my! I do hope it is more instant with the public than Superlove. I still find it bizarre how Player went top 40 on iTunes when Superlove didn't trouble the top 200.

Posted by: mr_pmt 11th March 2017, 04:01 PM

I wonder if it's actually happening this time?

Intrigued by the description though.

Posted by: travis 11th March 2017, 04:23 PM

I am READY! Been wanting new Tinashe recently.

Chris Brown feature?

Posted by: Jonjo 12th March 2017, 07:06 AM

Apparently she's gonna be performing at Wrestlemania! ohmy.gif

I assume it'll just be the National Anthem, but if it is a performance they usually get decent-good boosts on iTunes and might set her up well!

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 12th March 2017, 08:39 PM

Good. Shes finally releasing a pop song.

Posted by: Cremey 12th March 2017, 10:23 PM

Looking forward to this. Doubt I'll love it as much as I loved 'Nightride', but I'm all for her going full-on pop if it gets her a hit and the recognition she deserves 😅

Posted by: Cremey 12th March 2017, 10:27 PM

Also, the artwork is 🔥

Posted by: Cameron 12th March 2017, 10:28 PM

omg YES

Posted by: Liаm 15th March 2017, 12:52 AM

I cannot wait for this, Bloodpop and Stargate producing sounds so promising wub.gif

Posted by: Davidson 15th March 2017, 03:29 PM

Cannot wait to hear this tomorrow.

Someone over at ATRL seems to have heard it and claims has a similar vibe to 'Free The Animal' by Sia. So here for that if it isn't nonsense.

Posted by: Jonjo 15th March 2017, 08:04 PM

Genuinely didn't realise this was tomorrow, until she posted it just now. So excited!!

Posted by: mr_pmt 15th March 2017, 08:08 PM

HOT cover!

Heard it was similar to 'Cruel' by Snakehips too.

Posted by: Davidson 15th March 2017, 08:38 PM

Yeah, I've heard 'Free The Animal', 'Cruel' and even 'Run Away With Me' by Carly Rae Jepsen and none of those sound anything a-like so we shall just have to wait and see laugh.gif

They have also said that it is very 'big' sounding but it is not massively upbeat. Apparently it is a very large sounding mid-tempo that is completely pop rather than R&B.

This small snippet is all I can find so far:

Posted by: Davidson 15th March 2017, 10:00 PM

LEAKED

omg, it is so poppy. the chorus is so good. it is so not her normal thing AT ALL but it is so fab.

It literally sounds like it could be a pop girls lead single!!!

Posted by: Liаm 15th March 2017, 10:14 PM

This is HUGE. I hate to compare things to Sia because it's so overused but it reminds me of if Katy had a huge lead single written by Sia.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 15th March 2017, 10:56 PM

Yeah if this ain't her breakout solo hit she should give up. Very strong pop song. Good luck to her!

Posted by: UltraGreenLight 15th March 2017, 11:00 PM

Can someone send me a link plz! x

Posted by: Liаm 15th March 2017, 11:05 PM

Yeah if this isn't a hit... She's probably never taking off :/

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 16th March 2017, 07:21 AM

It's very r&b/pop from 2006/2007

Posted by: Cremey 16th March 2017, 07:45 AM

MASSIVE. Has to be a huge hit surely?

Posted by: Jonjo 16th March 2017, 09:08 AM

Agreed. This is massive. Really hope it's her breakout hit!

This is the sort of sound she should've been doing as opposed to the mid-noughties, out dated tracks like 'Superlove' (and I ADORE that still).

Posted by: Cameron 16th March 2017, 12:51 PM

YES TINASHE YES!!!

Posted by: Jonjo 16th March 2017, 09:40 PM

Had this on repeat.

Absolutely stellar! SO excited for the video!

Posted by: UltraGreenLight 16th March 2017, 10:12 PM

This is really quite something. Fantastic! wub.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 16th March 2017, 10:31 PM

Did you lot hear about RCA records tower catching fire around the time this song premiered, or something?! (GET DAT PROMO!!!!!!!!!)

LOADS of 'Flame'/Tinashe and her label memes on Twitter atm :')

Posted by: mr_pmt 17th March 2017, 12:00 PM

Solid song, does sound like something which could conceivably be a big hit. Hope it can be!

Posted by: RobBob 17th March 2017, 06:50 PM

I'll never expect her to get a hit but this really does sound like one, enjoying a lot from first listen. I can't work out what it reminds me of, I think it might be 'Body On Me' by Rita Ora which is one of my favourites by her, but either way, a great mid-tempo job.

Posted by: Davidson 17th March 2017, 07:44 PM

It reminds me a tad of 'Body Say' by Demi Lovato, only so much better.

Really random but it slightly reminds me of Rise Up by JoJo. That's without having heard that in a few weeks though, I'm sure if I listened again I'd take it back tongue.gif

Posted by: No Sleeep 17th March 2017, 08:05 PM

Ahh this song is amazing! Absolutely obsessed. Honestly I was beginning to lose interest but this has won me back. I'm glad she's going pop honestly, hipster R&B has went as far it can go imo, it's getting really tedious now

Posted by: Lee_J11 28th March 2017, 06:56 PM

OMG where has this banger come from? wub.gif

Posted by: Draper 28th March 2017, 07:54 PM

It's terrible. sad.gif

Posted by: Davidson 31st March 2017, 01:09 PM

I'm so impressed with her live vocals nowadays wub.gif

Posted by: Cameron 31st March 2017, 01:13 PM

Ugh, she is spectacular

Posted by: Lieowstic 1st April 2017, 01:05 AM

I really really don't know how she isn't the next Rihanna, absolutely baffling :/

Posted by: 360Jupiter 4th April 2017, 10:10 AM

I'm getting Janet Jackson vibes.

She's had an interesting path, going R&B and *then* pop, while being really young too.

Hope she sees some success with this.

Posted by: jase. 7th April 2017, 08:23 PM

How is Flame not a worldwide hit? It's absolutely incredible blink.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 21st April 2017, 06:49 PM

Video prems in about an hour or so I think! (4pm EST)

Exciting!

Posted by: Jonjo 21st April 2017, 10:06 PM

And here it is! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Cameron 21st April 2017, 10:42 PM

As soon as she performed underwater I was floored. Amazing!

Posted by: Juliano 17th July 2017, 12:17 PM

Could someone explain to why this wasn't HUGE and has it's floppage cancelled the album or is it just awful rumours?

Posted by: Cameron 17th July 2017, 01:29 PM

It wasn't huge because it is Tinashe and everything she touches seems to flop because she will forever be continuously underrated sad.gif

Posted by: ML Hammer95 17th July 2017, 01:32 PM

It flopped because it wasnt good enough to attract the Pop audience the song was obviously intended for. Simple.

Posted by: Jonjo 17th July 2017, 01:54 PM

The song WAS good enough though. It's a huge pop song and if it was sung by Sia or if Rihanna had recorded it or something, it'd have been a huge hit.

Posted by: Liаm 17th July 2017, 01:55 PM

If the walking wig had sung it it'd probs still be top 10 lmao

But huge pop songs aren't necessarily 'in' right now are they? I think '2 On' was a hit mainly because it was very on-trend for the time. Hopefully she releases a Metro Boomin produced song or something similar to 'All My Friends' next.

Posted by: Jack 20th July 2017, 07:42 PM

Was 2 On a hit though?!

Posted by: Jonjo 20th July 2017, 07:50 PM

It went silver, despite it peaking outside the top 40 I believe!

Was 2 On a hit though?!

and it was by FAR her biggest hit in the US. That song seems to be the only time she really click with the general public on one of her own tracks which is a huge shame - she does deserve to be far bigger but I don't think going poppier is the way forwards to be honest sad.gif

Posted by: Liаm 20th July 2017, 08:08 PM

2 On peaked at like #129 but went silver, so I guess it's a hit but also not laugh.gif

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 20th July 2017, 08:17 PM

'2 On' was a big hit in the US though. I think that and her top 5 feature in the UK are her only real achievements. sad.gif

She did deserve better, the first album was utterly incredible... although she's kind of lost the plot (mostly) since then and at this point it's clear she's not going to make it, which is unfortunate as she does have it.

Posted by: Juliano 21st July 2017, 07:34 AM

I was convinced All Hands On Deck would have been her proper breakout moment, I was also suprised Player wasn't a hit.

Posted by: Cameron 21st July 2017, 08:16 AM

I was expecting Player to maybe be the same size of hit Do It Again was for Pia Mia

Posted by: 360Jupiter 21st July 2017, 09:53 AM

It's not over yet for her. I mean, who could have forseen Marian Hill getting a top 20 US hit randomly from an ad song after trying to make it for 3ish years. If she could just land a feature of her music on a popular show that would be a big positive step.
