It's a miracle they've kept someone as fantastic as Shona for so long when she's utilised so little really, I hope they see the praise she's getting right now and give her more storylines going forward.
i could just watch babe for hours.Anette Badland is sublime
Nu Courtney seems like she's going to be like every soap teenager EVER.
Courtney looks surprisingly younger than her cousin, Louise, who is almost 5 years her junior. I was wondering whether we'd get to see Courtney in all of this but the fact she apparently lives in London is an indicator that she could keep going even after Grant has gone back.
Interestingly, today is the first time Courtney and Sharon have ever shared screen time.
Yet to see this, nu Courteney, catches up now
Living in London suggests she'll be sticking around and potentially give another excuse for Grant to pop up in the future again.
So Grant is gonna be banging Belinda? I don't blame him, she is very attractive.
Oh ffs, lets not try and recreate Sharongate.
Love how Abi immediately perked up and stopped sobbing when Mick said her job was safe.
YAS BABE TERRORIZE HA
So the 21 year old secret is finally out the bag. But it feels slightly tacked on without Michelle's presence given how newer viewers have little connection to her as a character. Also I hate that Peggy went to her grave not knowing.
Oh yeah and any fireworks between her and Sharon occurring off screen
Agreed. They should have only exploded this secret if Michelle was back on screen. Otherwise, they should have left it!
Thing is, I don't think there is anything that Sue Tully would return for. There's been some great opportunities for her to make a guest appearance but she's declined them all, so the story just has to be told without her there. I just wish it all made a bit more sense, like why would Michelle decide to write to Peggy and reveal that and why is it a bit hazy as to how much Sharon knew beforehand and after? Her reaction was very muted if she only just found out that Michelle had slept with Grant.
I don't see why Sharon had to hop on a plane to see Michelle about it especially since she seemingly didn't bring Mark Jnr back with her. We could have had her screaming at Michelle over the phone. Sharon doesn't seem that arsed about her best friend's betrayal. And why hasn't she spoken to Martin yet? I hazily remember he knew the truth and told Pauline before she died.
Belinda is everything.
^I second that.
Nice to see a bit of clarification in regards to the Mark Jnr. backstory tonight. I'm guessing Sharon mention he has a British accent (although I find it hard to believe he wouldn't have any aspect of an American accent) pretty much confirms he will be appearing at some point.
Love how Kathy thought £50 would be a good starting point to return tens of thousands of pounds!
Was Kathy always this shit? From what I have seen she could at least act in her last stint. I blame Hollyoaks.
Kathy's problem is that her reasons for pretending to be dead and abandoning her son are so ridiculous that Gillian Taylforth could be Dame Judi Dench and Kathy would still lack any kind of sincerity when she's pretending to care.
Belinda is absolutely wonderful.
I really enjoyed Jane and Grant's scene. It did emphasise just how farcical the storylining has been the past few years.
I legit thought Phil was going to ring Grant pretending to be Sharon. Looks like Mark will be turning up after all.
Bless Kathy for getting £50 from the cash point!!!
Tbf, I thought the scene between Kathy and Grant was a sniff of the old Kathy who could be tough talking and not easily intimidated.
I thought the Kathy scene was the most awkward scene Grant has been in since his return. That dialogue...
Kathy just needs to f*** off. I zone out whenever she's on screen.
Dot and Patrick's dancing !!!!
Dot's face!!!
Mark
HELL-O MARK. *.*
Mark can stay.
Belinda *.* 'Bob the builder?' And Asylum
I could watch endless scenes of Claudette and Babe.
However, I'm tiring of the endless scenes of Phil, hands on table looking out of it, talking to Sharon as she gently slinks in to the opposite chair. Why the f*** does she keep getting up between scenes?
Kudos to the casting of Mark as well. He really does look like he could be the nephew of the original Mark Fowler.
Hello Mark Fowler *.*
I hope Mark stays
Sticky finger? x
Kush has become a bigger whore than Jack
Claudette needs to be in every single scene. What a woman
Awkward at Patrick thinking Dot wanted his sticky finger.
Claudette and Babe are giving me life here.
Another exit, now this one is a surprise! Ronnie Mitchell http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a804647/eastenders-star-samantha-womack-leaves-the-square-after-a-decade-playing-ronnie-mitchell/
THANK CHRIST never come back
that article makes it sound like they were axed.
It takes guts to axe a character like that one. Bit of a gamble.
I know the character has been a bit lost atm and certainly wasn't as good as they were on their first stint, but I'd have thought they would have stayed. Surely they must have quit and not been axed?
I dunno, it'd be good to see some big name axings to prove no one is safe. They tend to drop the easy targets when there's a changeover and I'm actually less bothered about this news than I was over some of the other recently announced departures.
That's true, plus it feels like a long time since a big name character (who was already in the show on a regular basis, so not Peggy) had an exit and this one has potential to be great (or in equal measure be a flop like Carla's in Corrie).
Not that I've watched the show regularly in a looong time but I'm gutted at that news as Ronnie has always been one of my favourite characters and I think Sam plays it so well. It's definitely a shock to axe them and potentially kill them off as I feel like it is suggesting! I would feel like it would be a waste if so!
take their other half with them please
Noooooooo I feared this would happen because they aren't really taking her character anywhere atm.
BABE AND CLAUDETTE THO
We have finally found a spiritual successor who dunnit to Who Stole Dot's Cold Cuts?!!!!!! *.* Who shoved Babe in the freezer?!
I'm guessing it was Sylvie or Ollie getting an early start as the latest criminal mastermind of Walford.
I'm guessing either Sylvie or Les, since they wouldn't have it in them to physically hurt Babe and spontaneously pushing the walk-in freezer (what do you even call those?) door shut seems like the extent of malicious intent.
Abi would have battered her, dusted herself off, walked towards the freezer door, looked back and say "things die" before strutting off, whereas Claudette's boobs would have knocked Babe out stone cold before she even reached the freezer door.
Yep, I think Sylvie tbh. Abi might have battered her (perhaps like a fish, being in the iamspamspamami but I'd like to think she'd go for the apple bobbing technique she used against Lauren and I'm amazed Claudette's boobs haven't killed anyone yet. As for Les, I'm not sure I can see it.
Living for whoever was blasting LAS KETCHUP through the market tho.
Also surprised Dot didn't confuse Claudette with Grace Olumbumni who she made friends with for an episode before we never saw her again.
since when was Kush's stall directly outside the minute mart? wasnt it by Martins stall?
How could I forget apple-bobbing-gate? *.* Perhaps Abi was dressed up as a Weeping Angel and Babe remembered it from her days as a Slitheen in Doctor Who?
can EE do an entire 30 minute episode which just features Babe going around Walford being a total bitch to everybody? She's such a delight to watch
Omg it's been 5 years since "BUBBLY'S IN THE FRIDGE" and now Babe is in the fridge!
Well, we all guessed it was Sylvie. Out of every character tho she had the least reason to be out in the middle of the night so it was kind of obvious.
Sylvie's face when she said 'someone's tried to kill Babe!' *.*
Sylvie shading Babe by giving her shop bought trifle*.*
Mick and Linda have been extremely poorly written of late. Both Lee and Babe should be being treated like black sheep but everything is forgiven in a second just so that the Carters can remain a 'strong family unit'. I mean, seriously, Nancy got more grief for less.
I do generally love the Carter family and I think Mick and Linda unusually work fantastically as a couple but I have to agree that some of the things they do and their reactions to things leave A LOT to be desired. I know it sounds like a broken record to say that "the current producer's own work isn't yet on screen; he's just playing out DTC's plans" but I do hope he can give them some good direction and make them feel as realistic as they did throughout 2014.
I agree, I like them as characters but it almost comes off if late as if they have to stick together no matter what has happened and literally the only exception this year was Mick freezing Nancy out which led to her exit. The only one that annoys me character/acting wise is Johnny but that's because this actor is SHOCKING.
Absolutely, and unfortunately that seems to be something most Eastenders families go through at some point. I can see there being a cut down on the family; we know Buster is leaving, Babe surely has a sell-by-date, Tina screams being at risk of getting axed - it may still leave the main body of the Carter family intact but might be enough to give them the new sense of direction they need.
I've said before that nu Johnny's woodness was strangely endearing and gave a sense of the awkwardness of old Johnny's character, but it's been a few months now and he still hasn't settled into the role at all. He needs to go, I honestly can't bare him being on screen.
I agree about Johnny. He's such an awful actor! Almost on Kamil levels of cringe...
How good does Denise look for her age though? she could turn me tbh
Rita Simons aka Roxy Mitchellis departing early next year.
Good
I suppose that character has run their course too but I think it's a shame.
Who the f*** is Jack gonna shag now? He seriously needs to go.
Carmel?
aunt babe <3
Abby is going to get battered
Babe and Abi really are a fantastic pairing, I enjoy every scene these two are involved in. I'm very curious to see how dark the storyline goes, the potential is there.
Omg at it being Abi
I wonder if she will kill Babe eventually, I do feel Babe has a shelf life. Mick and Linda not telling her to pay the Cokers back tho...
And as amusing as it is to see Abi get fired and rehired on a daily basis, why is it the a job in the Vic iamspamspamamiis such a big deal to her? Isn't she also supposed to be working at a vets?
Because as always in Eastenders young characters lose all ambition when a job at the Vic or on the market comes up
Oh well, living for Abi atm
Sounds like Roxy and Ronnie are leaving together. I actually hope it's a happy ending even if there's big drama between now and their exits.
That's true. I suppose I'm holding out for an exit that suggests they'd go back or try to go back to how they were when they first came to the show, where both knew what the word "fun" meant and Ronnie genuinely protected Roxy rather than control her as such.
My goodness, I haven't seen Ronnie played that well in years.
Aside from the amazingness from Shirley and Linda Kathy for once didnt seem like an absolute flop.
Kathy can be quite good when she's not spouting absolute shit. I feel for Buster a lot though, I really don't want him to leave.
I've got a funny feeling Deano is coming back towards the end of the year.
That was such a superbly executed episode. Kellie, Sam, Rita and Linda all played their parts to perfection, I loved their scenes together.
That was an incredible episode from start to finish. Of course the four ladies mentioned all did amazing jobs as portraying their characters in this storyline but even Gillian did amazing in this ep
Loved that scene where the jury was dubbed over the scenes of Ronnie, Shirley, Roxy and Linda. Really moving and unexpected, which made it all the more touching. The scene where Linda had a flashback when cleaning the table was chilling. In fact, all four women were fantastic. Linda Henry was exceptional and Sam Womack remembered how to put effort into acting.
Can't believe he got off! I mean, it's realistic and it's kinda important to show that honesty but soaps always deliver justice in some way or another.
Next character for the chop is Lee Carter.
Not as devastating this one. I thought he had potential to begin with but it hasn't been utilised and I'll be thankful if Whitney finally dumps him after the MESS that the resolution was a few weeks back. Although leaving the Carters with just Johnny is
The way an 'insider' has talked about his exit makes it sound like they couldn't wait to get rid! http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a805352/eastenders-danny-boy-hatchard-leaving-as-lee-carter/
Kinda surprised at that one but not really disappointed!
Found this on YouTube today which shows the moment Pauline found out about Grant being Mark Junior's dad (be aware that this comes from the period the producers turned Pauline into a bitter, spiteful person). Just nice to have some evidence to support people's memory of who was aware of this secret.
god Pauline was dreadful.
Thanks for that Liam! Was only dipping in and out back then so I couldn't remember.
Pauline became awfully bitter but given her 20 year history, everything that happened and her general personality, it was quite in character for her to be so bitter. And she was against Sonia of all people, I feel we can all relate. The most out of character thing she did was fake an illness.
So glad they recasted Martin tho. James Alexandriou was pretty shit.
I live for Sonia's hypocrisy 'it's my relationship and my life, Martin, nothing to do with you!'
That's funny. I must have imagined her sticking her beak into Martin and Stacey's relationship since day one.
surely the worst duff duff ever?
Remember when Kat shoved Sonia's face into Ian and Jane's wedding cake?
Remember? I treasure it dearly at the forefront of my mind. Kat was always one of my favourites and now I know exactly why.
The was the second best Sonia moment ever after 'what on Earth is that?'
Honey was acting for her LIFE!
Does anyone else find it weird how Ronnie & Roxy barely interact with Phil these days? A few years ago they were couldn't leave each other alone. I especially miss Phil & Ronnie's scenes together. I was hoping we'd see Grant interact with them for the first time but nothing! Not very believable since Ronnie was supposed to have lived with Grant & Peggy during her brief break in 2014.
I would hope we would see Grant with Ronnie and Roxy when he's back in a couple of weeks but then it wouldn't surprise if it didn't happen at all.
Sonia is still killing me. She invited the whole of Tina's family around to her cramped living room so that they could ignore her, scoff their faces and she doesn't even attempt to broach the subject of why she'd asked them all round in the first place! And how irresponsible of all of them to leave an Alzheimer's sufferer alone with a school girl. I know Bex is pretty grown up but it's almost as ludicrous as when all the Beales left Louie alone in the house with Jane who couldn't walk!
I don't think we're supposed to remember Ronnie's stay in Portugal. I'm sure it was insinuated that Ronnie hadn't seen Richard since he was a baby despite Sam too living in Portugal and I remember that scene with Peggy back in 2014, just before Sharon and Phil's wedding, where Peggy told her she always rose a glass to Pat, even though Ronnie would have already known that considering she'd already spent several months living there.
The milkman extra passed away today. Apparently he's been there since the first episode! http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a805683/eastenders-milkman-extra-michael-leader-passes-away/
I feel like killing myself whenever we have scenes which involve Kathy and Buster.
i feel like now is the time to give TRACEY a big storyline
Remember all the fuss about her getting one last time and then she was barely in half an episode? And the rest of it was wasted on Gavin and Kathy almost getting in a plane for reasons no one can remember?
I still think she should have been the one to kill Lucy.
Omg big character (brief) return! (no, it's not Zainab, Shabnam or Janine): Colin Russell (i.e. the first gay Eastenders character) will return for two episodes
Kenneth?! We're built up this picture of this romantic guy Sylvie had this great fling with, and he was called Kenneth?
Has Natalie Cassidy given birth yet? These scenes were filmed ages ago and they're really struggling to hide her bump.
They didn't even try hiding it here: https://twitter.com/Azza_Loves_It/status/768157303891714048/photo/1
My dad has the same condition as Sylvie so i can tell you that her scenes today were extremely well written and true to life. It was like i was watching my dad.
on a slightly less depressing not can sonia enjoy motherhood so much she wont want to come back?
Oh yes, I feel like the attention to detail with Sylvie's character has been excellent. I'll always remember the scene near to when she first came into the show and she got lost and confused in the market, which was really powerful even though I've not had any personal connection with the condition (p.s. don't think I was taking the piss from that Kenneth thing, I just hate that name!)
omg dont worry your fine x
this being a DTC story was fully expecting her say his name was Gavin or something.
If tomorrow's duff duff could be Sharon waking up and realising all the Gavin stuff was just a dream, that'd be great.
It still makes me so angry that Gavin was Kathy's husband who had been mentioned for 15 years AND Sharon's elusive birth father. I mean if he wasn't so shit, it'd be alright. So much wasted potential.
Can Kathy not being dead be a dream? I can't believe Buster is leaving and not her.
can we dump Louise and bring back Cindy
and make Honey the new leading Lady.
I loved all the Sylvie scenes recently
Such lovely scenes with Tina and Sylvie in Thursday nights episode <3
Biting Sonia is only further cementing Sylvie's status as one of my favourite characters.
And why is Mick so shit these days?
Mick's always been shit, that's why EE had him shirtless regularly when he first started. His Best Actor nominations and wins every year have been ridiculous.
I mean could Sylvie not have just sat by the bar? Or upstairs with someone checking her every few minutes. They'll probably send her to school with Bex in a few weeks.
An old woman with dementia is a nuisance but you can be happy to keep on your baby stealing aunt and crucify anyone for raising their voice when Linda's having her fifth headache nap of the day.
Linda is still in my top three though. We may be suffering major Carter burnout but she has never not been amazing.
Linda has lost points with me when she, like Mick, hasn't so much as suggested that Babe should pay back the money she fleeced off the Cokers.
Rebecca is now my new fave
New trailer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p045vbv3
It's kinda weird how Courtney is now just suddenly there after not being there for so long!
imma need all non Sharon Mitchells to f*** right off
So are we to presume that Denise will be popping out her own mini Mitchell come Christmas?
And are they really going to keep Michelle's secret until Sharon realises Mark is about to bonk Courtney?
Natalie Cassidy has finally given birth! Surely can't be long for her on-screen exit?
Yes, please f*** off now, Sonia!
'What's with the sour face?' Earth to Stacey, Sonia ALWAYS looks like that!
I love how they shoehorned Whitney into the salsa storyline she's never been involved in just to beat Denise around the head with pregnancy symptoms.
Why are Courtney and Mark jnr hanging around with 14 year olds?
Craig wtf
omg that didnt work
Mark Jnr is the same age as Abi.
but why would a 20 year old hang out with 14 year olds? Not to sound ageist or anything lmao
It does seem odd, especially with how flirty Mark is being (I get that's just the way he is in general but you think he'd be able to switch off the charm in front of clearly quite impressionable 14 year olds). I suppose it kinda makes sense for Mark to hang out with Shakil and then in turn be around 14 year olds, because it also kinda makes sense for 14 and 16 year olds to hang out. Tbf, I've not found it seems weird when watching on screen because I always assume Mark/Courtney are slightly younger than they are and Louise/Bex are slightly older.
I guess, both Mark and Courtney have cousins that age but still it seems weird. Why did they have Mark wolf whistle his 15 year old cousin the other day?
i dont think i want to watch this anymore
This acting and these unlikable characters...
I was wondering if it was going to dawn on him that Mark is 20 and can buy him alcohol...
brb clawing my eyes out
Shakil is SO cringe, this is like a bad Hollyoaks sub plot from like 2010.
What's more ew is Mark and Courtney's obvious spark when they are half brother and sister! I know they aren't aware of it but :/
I think out of all the teenage friendship groups EE have tried to push, this is the worst.
Why on Earth did the writers believe Shakil's 16th birthday should be an episode long event? That was awful.
And why on Earth is Mark so worried about going bald with that thick mane of hair? It's pretty obvious he's taking after his mum's side of the family in that regard but it's just so 'ooooh Grant's bald as well lol tease'.
And why did Mark get alcohol from the Vic, instead of some off licence? Are they running out of ways to shoehorn in Danny Dyer's contractual appearances?
I came here to say how shockingly bad the episode was and I'm so happy to see everyone agreeing this Shakil/Mark thing is so TEPID was that hair malarkey real? It really is like watching a shit Hollyoaks plot.
The episode needed more 'Sonia tries to cover her baby bump but then gives up and lets it all hang out on camera' moments *.*
It was rather uncharacteristic of Sonia not to be there, sticking her beak in tbh.
And WD Bex and Shakil for being older virgins than Martin and Sonia were parents.
The younger cast are generally decent characters themselves but everything is just so forced when they're a group. We've already touched on the fact their ages range from 14-20 which is pushing the bounds of realism, but then there's the things they say and the way they act. A bad Hollyoaks plot describes the whole thing perfectly. I like that the producers are trying to show the younger characters socialising because that's something that has been missing for a while (and even longer when you consider the last time it was done well) but they've just got the whole thing wrong.
I'm assuming the younger cast are all friends off-screen so maybe it would be best to record how they act with each other and use that to help things on-screen?
I did enjoy the scene with Shakil and Martin though; that felt like Eastenders as it was character-driven, realistic and how two people in their positions would act.
But seriously, are Mark and Courtney only around for this reveal? And this is just the filler they have to do until Ross Kemp is available again?
INCEST ACTUALLY HAPPENED EW
Claudette's boobs will win the Salsa contest. Best pair there
I don't know how I feel about Denise carrying Phil's baby. I can't wait for the meltdowns when they all find out!
I'm all for Denise having Phil's baby tbh.
I can't believe that we didn't see Dot dance after all that buildup or that she's acting like she never read that letter.
And can someone remind me why it's so important to keep Mark's parentage a secret? I mean, what really was Michelle thinking? Sending a letter to Peggy Mitchell of all people? If Peggy had seen it, it wouldn't have mattered how ill she was, she'd have screeched to anyone and everyone who would listen!
Also, end of an era, but an obvious departure for Masood is happening. That whole family gone.
wont be missed
I too am living for Denise having Phil's baby; this has the makings for some great drama.
I'm surprised at the departure for Masood even though I really shouldn't be. I suppose I just kept expecting either Zainab to return or for him to become more integrated with Carmel and Denise.
its a shame that family wont be around anymore but this has been coming for awhile.
A year since Shabnam's still birth tho
I was ready to throw my TV out the window when Louise didn't get Ronnie!!!! If this was a couple of years ago, she would've been there within a shot to sort the mess out and now NOTHING!? I don't like this character assassination they're giving her! They're turning her into a cuddly stay at home mum :/
I was ready to throw it out because THEY DIDN'T RING THE POLICE like how ludicrous was it I'm shocked they thought to call an ambulance when Phil was troubled Also lol at how unthreatening the killers were and that stare off was iconic :')
I love that Mitchells refuse to call the police for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I mean, what literally would have been wrong about it?
Kim channelling Ronnie by reminding everyone that Denise is her SISTAAA 50 times a minute. Seriously though, I thought Kim and Denise's scenes together were great.
Tbh it's pretty unusual for 'filler' scenes to be any good in between drama but I thought they were all pretty strong tonight. I'm hoping that the Mitchell drama won't end up a damp squib and all be forgotten about this time next week.
donna stole the show though.
''its not like the're gonna be around for very long is it''
"Dee, it's me"
"I know, I can see you"
My favouite line was 'Move, Sal!!' Really made me laugh
I loved the Denise/Kim scenes they where proper Eastenders drama.
the mitchell stuff was tripe
The Mitchell stuff was making me laugh more than it should have the killers just look so unintimidating it's brilliant. The scowling match yesterday with Ben :')
Also, why would Ben being seen by the police cause the case to collapse. Surely it would do the opposite? Do the writers think we are that stupid?
I found it funny when Ben and Jay tried to take all four on seriously they should have legged it
If Grant ran at me like that with a baseball bat I think I'd laugh my head off tbh.
I love that we're on to the third episode of Ben's abduction and only now does anyone inform Kathy and even then it's only because she happens to be walking past
They went a bit overboard with Ronnie trying to justify the Mitchell code. How long are we giving it until Jack start banging Honey?
Oh and this Mark Jnr stuff is so contrived.
I hope something interesting happens regarding Jay (excluding him dying) because if tonight was the climax of the kidnap drama then my god that was underwhelming. Do you remember the days Eastenders were good at big drama? (and good aftermaths too but that seemed to disappear even longer ago).
Again, the Kim and Denise scenes were so good. Kim is great at the comedy but she also excels at these types of scenes too.
EastEnders and big drama, i miss those days too, i miss the days when they really pulled of great conclusions to storylines. Sometimes i find the conclusion to recent storylines very disappointing or sometimes confusing. The Claudette storyline where she was buried and in general the Hobbards storylines seems to be all over the place and we never get a full understanding of the storyline, is any else finding this with the storylines.
Ronnie's stalker storyline also had a real non impact ending. Storylines need conclusions and good endings so i would hope the new producer improves on this aspect of the show.
Lmao, already having Mark jr shirtless
HELLO MARK
Oh Sylvie, what a legend
YAASSS SYLVIE BENDY QUEEN
my feelings on Mark summed up https://twitter.com/AndiMcLellan/status/773951692970790912
omg dot being a homophobic c**t tho
Sylvie!!!! Fast becoming my favourite
Sylvie can stay forever but Sonia needs to go soon. Why haven't they given her a bigger bag to hide her belly with?
Did anyone else spend the funeral scenes trying to figure out whether any of the sad face close up characters actually ever shared a scene with Paul? My fave was Belinda because I'm sure she never did!
And it was nice of them to offer Gillian Taylforth that emotional rambling at the beginning to prove she could still act. Unfortunately, they needn't have bothered.
i did cackle when Dot voiced the opinion of millions and told Sonia to f*** off.
^
Translation:
Sonia: I only care about myself
Dot: Oh f*** off Sonia!
Jonny's acting is horrendous.
I thought Johnny's scene with Colin tonight was really powerful actually, well done on both their parts! I don't think Johnny's gonna win any acting awards as such but I've definitely seen worse than him, I think he gets a hard time in this thread
That episode was a total mess in general though some nice moments but some really silly moments - Mark just blurting out that Grant must be his dad after all that's happened, I was hoping for something more dramatic LOL
Johnny's awful Cameron's spot on with his description of his abilities!
Johnny is shit. It doesn't help that old Johnny was so much better either.
I am awaiting Christine's return *.*
I'm not like Dot. I wouldn't go to Sonia's wedding. It doesn't matter if she's marrying a woman or a man, I wouldn't want to spend any time with Sonia ever.
"I'm ever so sorry but I didn't ask you to hang around"
"What on earth is that?"
The two best lines of the year!
I was dreading them but the Dot and Lord Cashman scenes where actually lovely.
I'm actually quite glad the Mark/Grant storyline didn't develop further than it did. There's not really any point if Ross isn't committed to the show and Susan Tully is literally never ever going to return. Ever. Maybe it could be picked up again when someone has a clear direction of where they want to take the story.
They blatantly knew they only had Ross back on Barbara's orders and there's a good chance he'll never be back and so panicked and decided this secret needed revealing no matter what. Not having Michelle made the whole thing ridiculous and most of the fall out fell flat. Sharon's reaction happened completely off screen.
I'm half feeling it was the new producer's idea to cut the story short and DTC would have taken it further.
I'd like to know what happened to Jay, because one moment he is hiding from a policeman and the next he's at home after just getting out the shower.
K, this is what the new producer really needs to do'
Have Claudette explain how she dug herself out of her grave.
Have Claudette dominate the show for a few months.
Give Donna a good storyline.
Bring in a new family.
Rest the Carters for a bit.
Give Shirley something to do away from her family.
Make Denise the new Leading Lady.
Axe Sonia and Jack.
Do that and we MAY have a good 2017
Hopefully there will only be a couple more episodes of Sonia and then she'll be absent for about a year.
Claudette to murder someone with her boobs at Christmas.
I definitely agree about the Grant/Mark/Michelle thing, it was Michelle's absence that was really detracting from it but there of course was no way that Susan would return so they couldn't get around that. It wasn't just that though, every little "storyline" he was in felt forced and like it was just their goal to rinse as much screen time out of him as possible. Flat is definitely the word, even when he was gonna get with his sister their reaction was just like "oh" :/
His 2006 return was much more natural because you can tell the schedule wasn't planned around him back then. They didn't even have him take the one opportunity to interact with Ronnie or Roxy.
It was quite hilarious to hear Ronnie rant 'Grant this! Family that!' like the second coming of Peggy and yet she doesn't even get to *see* Grant. She literally only had the word of other characters that he was even there...
Hopefully Sonia "does a Cora"...speaking of which apparently she is coming back just not anytime soon
Cora was good in her day, but that day has gone.
Grant's return has proved that legend characters should probably remain in the past once they've left, unless there's plans to develop them and/or they are the sort of character that can be rested for a few years then brought back (like Janine or Sharon).
If Grant had done a 2 month guest stint that was uninterrupted, it would have been ok. Or if there's been planning. Phil owes him money? Dropped in seconds. Still in love with Sharon? Forgotten after one line.
I was thinking earlier, do you think the Denise being pregnant thing will have something to do with her wanting an abortion but a whole dramatic thing is made of the fact she was against Libby doing it earlier this year?
It's been quite clear that Denise has been searching for purpose this year. She was eager to help Jordan and that went wrong. She thought she would raise JJ and couldn't. Libby aborted her grandchild. She would definitely be torn by whether to keep the baby to give her life more purpose or abort it because it's Phil's. But if she did the latter, she'd be a hypocrite for the way she treated Libby.
Soaps tend to shy away from long running storylines where a character changes in such a way, like when Cindy Jnr had an underage pregnancy and the producers bailed on showing the effects of young motherhood by axing the story after a few weeks, or when characters suffer severe injuries/are paralysed and are fit and ready a month later, so I don't know whether they'll actually have Denise keep the baby. It sounds like too much perseverance for a soap.
She'll probably want an abortion, realise she shouldn't because of Libby and have a miscarriage or something like that.
I really want her to birth a Mitchell tho.
And the parallels it will draw with Mark jr. And Diane Parish won't f*** off and never return to acting so they can play it out better. If anything this storyline protects Denise from the axe.
everyone treating sonia with disgust*.*
I could watch hours on end of characters being horrible to Sonia.
It's very frustrating how no one has pulled any of the other Carters up on their neglect of Sylvie. I'd almost be on Sonia's side if she wasn't Sonia.
Good God, Sonia starting the episode AND getting the duff duff seems to suggest this will be a Sonia-centric week.
Hopefully she's leaving this week.
Sonia and go permanently but i would agree about the Carters, why should Sonia be left with all the burden. Carmel is the best one on the show right now, i always enjoy her and Bonnie is a wonderful actress and a pleasure to watch.
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a807833/eastenders-exclusive-claudette-hubbard-is-waving-goodbye-to-albert-square
ffs what a waste
Tbf this has been coming ever since March, at least now this gives good opportunity to have something really spectacular like we should have had ages ago.
At least Janine is back...
She's literally one of the best characters going but it was obvious this was going to happen. Characters like that have a shelf life (Babe's days could be numbered) and those awesome episodes in March came to nothing with that terribly messy follow up.
At least it won't be like with Grace Olubumni.
I wont miss Claudette too much, her character has just gone nowhere. I would say her character is written very badly as her storylines just dont add up alot of the time. I feel the exact same about Vincent and Donna to a lesser extent.
EastEnders needs a brand new family right now and a well thought out family. I would love a family to come into the show and make the impact the Slaters did when they arrived. I think the addition of the Slaters was handled superbly.
But whose boobs am I gonna stare at now?
Tbh with Claudette, her boobs stare at you.
Is it really necessary to begin and end every episode this week with Sonia.
Martin: that's something you were always good at. Being boring.
Do the writers possibly hate Sonia as much as we do????
And why do the Mitchells need a big family meeting every time someone breaks a nail?
I actually found Sonia and Tina's break up quite funny!
"You're one of my favourite people" !
Thank god she is nearly gone!!!
how did the fab Carol have such horrid children
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a807952/the-massive-eastenders-shake-up-continues-as-the-soaps-first-ever-trans-actor-riley-carter-millington-leaves/
No real loss there, he's been forgotten about for months now. NINE characters set to leave at the moment
He's done nothing since his initial arrival storyline, so not surprised by this! Surely the new producer must be preparing to introduce new characters with all of these leaving. The cast is going to be looking a bit small soon!
Unfortunately due to literally no development, it now seems that character was brought in for nothing more than a box ticking exercise. It really feels like DTC had no idea what he was doing post 30th anniversary.
Kettering getting fame from both Lindsey Lohan and Sonia this year
kettering can keep both
YAASSSSSSSSS BEX SCALP HA
also, HELLO non english english teacher*.*
Omg I thought Janine was really back!!!
I wouldn't be surprised if she returned next year. It's been a decent break since her last appearance now!
I wanted Belinda to strangle Sonia to death.
What a c**t Mick is. How dare Sharon and Ronnie be more concerned about Phil's health then taking Linda's mind off things. I mean, seriously, does Linda ever get to just deal with these things without Mick smothering her all the time?
im gonna miss Linda so much
HOWLING at Kim's face after Vincent pointed out his mother was a foster carer.
I hated Sonia WELL before any of you. I've hated her for like 10 years!!!
me and Tboy came into this world hating her
I feel like 'all are bandwagon haters on my original wagon of hate.
Why is this a competition? Why can't we all just hate Sonia equally?
And besides, call yourself a Sonia hater? Toby and I do most of the work.
We have to wait until Tuesday for her to bugger off, this is killing me.
I hope she's so in love with her new child that she will never return.
A tenth(?) exit confirmed! Babe
Unfortunately, she couldn't last forever either.
At this rate, we'll need a Janine return sharpish.
I wonder if a reduced cast improves quality (obviously not solely that factor alone) - I seem to recall whoever took over in ~1998 axed lots of characters (to the point he was called the Axe King or something like that by tabloids) and, by 2000, the show was in one of its "golden eras".
Apart from Ronnie and Roxy all of the current axings have been pretty obvious ones, the kind that would fall under any producer. I wonder if he has the guts to axe some of the other spare parts like Jack or Billy or like asking Sonia to never return.
Wow this culling is brutal
Who does everyone think will be next? I think Jack, Tina and Sylvie are potentially at threat of the axe. I could see June Brown retiring by the end of next year too, maybe even this year. Other than that, I think the rest can stay. Donna could potentially be axed but I think she'll be safe because she still has a lot of potential.
I can't see Tina/Sylvie being there much longer. I can also see a possible shock Louise exit. Oh and the man bun child
they literally cant axe anyone else. theres about 12 people left
Surely there aren't many more axes left? I think Tina, Shakil and Donna are probably most at risk at this point and honestly none of them would be particularly big losses.
Donna's look of utter disgust when she found out Claudette was shagging Patrick was amazing.
Tina could be likely unless they bring Zsa Zsa back. Donna also but she's too awesome and hasn't been written into a corner yet.
I don't think Louise will go. If anything, there's a chance they could bring Lisa back.
I think another two axes would be doable but anymore than that would be too much unless they're bringing in a new family or having some characters return!
"Why you sitting down?"
"I wanted a break from standing..."
EE are getting good at this stating the obvious
FOR f*** SAKE SONIA JUST PISS OFF
I feel conflicted. On the one hand, I agreed with everything Sonia said about the Carters not stepping up for Sylvie despite refusing all the help they were entitled to. On the other hand she's Sonia therefore awful.
I take solace in the fact that Martin can't have a conversation with her without zoning out and that Bex hates her.
Living for Les' angry face.
"I hope she bites you" Moment of the episode!
bye sonia don't ever bother us again x
I loved the scene with Bex and Shaks at the end cute? I dont usually do like them two as a couple but was quite sweet
Glad to see the back of Sonia, Les and Pam are next by the looks of things and soon after it could be Buster.
That episode needed more of Abi's day off *.*
And I always forget that Abi and Sonia are meant to be cousins.
Dot not saying goodbye was a bit odd but then she didn't ask Sonia to hang around.
!!!!!!!
Jay thank you for placing that gif tbh
O m f g that GIF!!!!!!!!!!
omg with all these exits it will just be Abi left soon.
I do think Abi has been sacked from the vets for ages tbh. Why else was she so desperate to work in the Vic just a few weeks ago?
Interesting read from DigitalSpy about the start of Sean O'Connor's era http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/feature/a808647/is-eastenders-going-back-down-to-earth-under-new-producer-sean-oconnor/.
Bye bye Busted Buster.
Abi to become new Janine and kill everyone please.
Is that both Buster and Masood gone? If so I shall miss both if only for the missed opportunities. I feel Buster had much more to give than what he had and could have survived outside of the Carters. Masood has been great and they just should have brought Zainab back.
Why did Linda take so long to demand Babe pay the money back? And why is Linda forcing this and not Mick?
Mick really has become a detestable character. He forgives Babe for all kinds of evil and yet Buster needs to stay and suck it up whilst Shirley ignores him.
And Kathy is so laughable. Comparing moving to the next town with Buster to making her sons believe she was dead for 10 years!
Buster had a lot more to give I felt.
It's a shame Masood didn't get the duff duff. After his length of time on the show, you'd expect a little more for his send off. I will miss Masood and especially his friendship with Denise. His scenes with Denise were my favourite yesterday.
i dont think he's gone yet.
actually, yeah, he probably leaves next week since Carmel wasn't even in the episode.
Yeah, the actor confirmed on Twitter that wasn't his last episode. Surely 9 years on the show earns a Julia's Theme?
tbh Masood was only any good when Zainab was around. as a stand alone character he's always been shit
I don't think I've ever properly been that interested in Masood. He's a good supporting character and all, but I certainly don't feel sad he's leaving.
Hes decent enough but without Zainab or the kids there's little point. All his love interests post Zainab were half hearted. Jane, Carol and what the Hell was supposed to be happening between him and Carmel?
I thought him and Carol together was quite cute actually and I definitely still sided with him after David's return. You're quite right that, after Zainab left, everything has been half-hearted, despite a few initial attempts to make him interesting again (like Bad Masood when DTC took over).
I shall miss Masood, I thought he would get together with Carmel, Buster had potential, but where would he fit in without the Carters, he hardly mixes with anyone else on the set apart from Kathy.
Of course, Buster leaving already continues to hammer home just how pointless Kathy's return was.
So apparently Ronnie and Roxy are getting killed off on New Years Eve!
Won't somebody please think of the children!
GOOD THEY ARE SHIT
Sam has been on autopilot since she came back and Rita has been saddled with one of the worst characters in Eastenders history
My take
I think it's foolish to kill them both. I sort of get it with Ronnie. She's run her course as a character and she's literally gotten away with murder thus far. It would be a shame for her to die now she's finally a proper mum but the writers really dropped the ball there because Matthew is constantly being looked after by a near 90 year old woman despite his mother not even having a job.
Roxy seems wrong though. Why leave poor Any without a mother and Roxy's crimes do not match up to her sister's.
Either way I expect it won't have much effect on Jack and that within the hour he will be boning Honey.
Dot is like 70 tho
June Brown is like 89 tho.
And Dot was never mid 50s when she killed Ethel.
how does she keep going? I imagine Madonna will be like that too
Busters exit was extremely boring, they could have done so much more than that for the exit.
Im happy Ronnie is going as i havnt enjoyed her for a long time now, Roxy i can take or leave but i dont think either will be missed too much as they have run their course.
The problem with Ronnie is that they're really inconsistent with the writing, so it's no surprise Sam Womack doesn't want to put the effort. When the material is there, she delivers - i.e. the scenes during the rape trial verdict. I feel they're also quite inconsistent with Stacey too. Ronnie & Stacey were the centre of the show in the 2007-11 era and although both have had some good moments (particularly Stacey) since their return, they're both a long way from their original stints.
Roxy only ever felt like a supporting character for Ronnie and has mostly come into her own when away from Ronnie (during her break and the Dean storyline).
Given the way they've written I don't think she's salvageable now (as much as it saddens me to say) and the rumoured death would be a fitting ending as most of her story arc has been about being the tragic heroine. Plus it allows her to finally get her comeuppance for the killings of Carl and Fatboy. Roxy on the other hand is surprising to hear about! I think they would be better to go down the route of her being too distraught to stick around and leaving with Amy.
they really don't. Ronnie especially has become such a bore to watch
I'm finding it hard to feel sorry for Tina when she just left Sonia to do it all.
Marie getting her 5 minutes of fame *.*
but its Sonia though.
Kim today!
For the first time in a long time I felt lost with the show last night.
I felt as if I had missed an episode, gone from Masoods leaving party to not even being in the episode, to Kims sudden obsession with driving when she been using the bus recently, going with Denise to the scan on the bus, surely if going to start some storyline they could of had her in car parking wrong. And no real fall out or discovery of Buster leaving , he'd just gone and Shirley automatically knew and seemed to of moved straight on.
I quite enjoyed DTC's run on the show, there was stuff I didnt agree with but overall was pretty good but I'm not sure Sean O'connor going to keep me interested already axed majority of characters that I liked and felt had more to give, I'm interested to see where he goes I know he doesnt like sensationalism but if we got BinGate and BlueBadgeGate as our exciting storylines of things to come then I'm not looking forward to the future.
I agree about it feeling like an episode was skipped, particularly with Masood not appearing but with the suggestion that he was gone (when Stacey said his house was now empty). I'm guessing he returns for some reason before properly leaving.
I don't think we need to prepare ourselves for storylines on bins and other Lorraine Newman-esque matters, I think that was just an attempt at bringing in realism to the show. It also feels like these recent episodes have been much more character focused which is important before injecting a storyline into the mix. I'd take these sort of filler episodes over other rubbish we're usually subjected to, because at least we see the characters actually being NICE to each other, which makes them people you care about and actually root for when a storyline is put into the mix. That's what has made the most iconic storylines so memorable and successful: we actually cared about the characters and were eager to see what happened to them in the aftermath, not just where the story would take us.
I really liked the fact the duff duff ended on a happy Martin and Stacey embrace. The end of the show doesn't have to be a cliffhanger every time, because that would only, and has only, dampened the impact of a killer duff duff. It felt quite old school Eastenders, where duff duffs were put at the end of a natural scene rather than a scene that was only put in so that you'd tune in next time, only for whatever it was to be concluded in the first five minutes of the succeeding episode.
Back when it started the duff duff was hardly ever dramatic. My mum told one episode ended with Pauline putting the bins out*.*
not little Pearl stealing the show tho.
Johnny is not likeable at all.
with Ronnie and Linda leaving who do you think should be the new leading lady? I nominate HONEY.
Honey is such a fav, she just needs a good storyline
No internet so I'm barely keeping up.
Kim is SLAYING me in this driving storyline. Pearl is brilliant as well, already got so much attitude.
I'm all for these character driven storylines. As good as DTC could be, I don't want anymore Gavin-sequel stories.
Queen Honey (the nicest character in ANY soap EVER) for landlady plz.
It would be great if someone as lovely and genuine as Honey could be the main female of the show, but I feel it would be more likely for Belinda to take that role.
Belinda / Honey to be the new Pat and Peggy please
I am with you on this Cameron.
omg how did i forget Belinda.
That last scene with Dot was heartbreaking
Many people are calling it boring but i adored that. Characters are FINALLY starting to behave like actual human beings again.
Awwww Dot I get the feeling her time on the show won't be much longer, sadly.
I'm glad the new producer is developing characters again. Only once we care about the characters can the more meaty storylines happen.
Aww that ending! So simple but actually really quite heartwarming! And of course, Dot getting a duff duff! *.*
Oh and, is it just me, or does Kush look just like Craig David?
That ending was heartbreaking echoing the development praise
Also yes at Carmel for what she said to Kush and Martin at the beginning (even if she did cave in)
I really enjoyed last nights episode. Dot really owned it and it felt like a lovely scene although it feels too much like the end of Dot, which I hope it isn't. Really enjoyed Pam as usual still wish she was staying on her Janet scene was sweet also liked Honey just cutting veg for tea at table reminded me very much of Pauline/Kathy/Angie back in old days just cutting veg at table
Very old school episode again tonight. Some really heartwarming moments and Dot's scenes were once again heartbreaking. As sad as this storyline is, it's nice to see Dot given a storyline.
Omg at Abi de-weaving Babe! *.*
i may have stop ironically stanning Abi.
I also loved Belinda's "is wine vegan?" comment. It was just so random but it really tickled me!
Dots scenes were so heartbreaking
More ikonec Abi screen time please. And just more Belinda in general.
Tracey credited twice this week! Yay for more screen time
Some wine is vegan, my friend is vegan and drinks it, I think it says on the bottle normally
Am I being really dumb, I thought all wine was vegan friendly?
vegans can f*** off tbh
You know things are a bit on the quiet side when we're discussing whether or not wine is vegan
Carmel Stacey AND Belinda in one scene almost exploded my little gay heart
Lol at Tracey being all patronising in Jane's face last night!
CARMEL CALLING DONNA A MUNCHKIN THO
One of the best episodes for quite some time, the moment when Carmel fell and flirting with that estate agent was hilarious. And that special moment with Jane and Ian bonding with each other it felt really emotional.
Carmel falling has been my favourite thing this week
I am getting fed up of Thick Kathy.
'Are you saying that what Ben did, killing Heather Trott, was my fault?'
Yes, you complete vacuum of common sense, Ben mightn't have done it if he didn't think his so called loving mother was dead and you were actually there to support him in his troubles instead of being chased around a massive house by weird Gavin holding a lighter for fifteen years.
Kathy is f***ing ridic. If they wanted to risk their credibility and bring a legend back from the dead they could have atleast gone for one that could act.
like TIFFANY
HOW has Gillian Taylforth survived these axings?
she's a 'legend'.
!
Can we have a thread of all these funny EE moments PLEASE (Joseph do it x)
omg I'm on it
(thanks to Jay for the screenshot x)
"How come men never clean under the rim?"
I'M CHOKING!
It's nice to have Masood back! That should've been the duff duff! Shame he won't be here for much longer
why are they axing Les and Pam though
Les and Pam could have been an iconic couple. They've really, really grown on me.
Howling @ them being axed while Kathy and f***ing Steven Beale are clogging up the screen.
i love that Steven kinda SHOT JANE yet she's happy to have him live with her
and I wish he'd stop calling Ian "dad"
OH AND JOHNNY'S STILL THERE. f***ing Johnny. While Les and Pam have been axed. S m h.
Lol at Lauren telling Whitney how the hen do was going to get better and then say SONIA was joining them!!
At that moment I both laughed at the idea SONIA could make anything better and panicked that she may appear back on screen. Thankfully the Bianca mention made me realise that wasn't going to happen.
Why are we losing Les and Pam when we're keeping awful Johnny?
Pam and Les are my fav EE couple, I am still gutted they are leaving
Whitney is sooo gonna lose the baby
I was expecting something like the bus to crash (which would be very Hollyoaks)
Yeah, something horrendous is going to happen to Lee & Whitney and I think Martin & Stacey. That'll teach them right for being so happy.
Janine to return for Whits funeral pls
It's about damn time Janine made her comeback tbh
I hope Whit doesn't lose her baby. The amount of misery heaped on her character over the years..
I can see them maybe keeping Lee and Whitney together but Lee's exit is him going back to the army or something
Catching up on last weeks episodes. The scenes with Ian and Jane making lasagne were so simple and yet such lovely viewing.
I'm really intrigued to see how they're going to write Babe out.
Lauren's "poor Whitney" gave me serious "oh no poor Libby" teas
I know!!
I knew this baby wasn't going to be born I guess this will start Lee's downward spiral too!
I just wish they kill Ben off, all he does... shout, shout, shout.
GIVE WHITNEY A DAMN BREAK
The comedy and heartache was well balanced tonight. I always found counteracting comedy during the DTC period to be quite forced but it wasn't the case tonight (and it was usually the Carters supplying the light relief so it was nice to see them at the centre of the grit). Kim's expressions when she was acting interested in Denise's book was hilarious and I was genuinely laughing, yet I could be really feel for Whitney during her scenes in the hospital.
You can tell DTC has gone since Mick didn't have a hissy fit in the hospital because the doctors couldn't Magic the baby back to life.
There has been a refreshing break from mick, thank god
Very good episode tonight. Shame about Whitney, she needs something positive to happen!
Quite enjoyed the interaction between Dot and Ricky.
Ricky is my fave character I think. Especially is Shabnam never comes back.
Absolutely heartbroken for Whitney
Also I must say, I am really positive about the shift in style and tone recently. The more character driven plots are reeling me in. Tonight's episode has been so heartwrenching, especially the little speech Pam gave to Ben. :'(
Loved the part where Ben looked at Kathy when he said "new beginnings". Hopefully we'll start seeing a proper relationship forming between the two now.
Not no one never harvested a spaghetti hoop!
This is the first time I've ever seen Jay with a beard. I remember when he was a kid terrorizing Dot and taking the piss out of Roxy, he's grown up now
I adore Jay
I love Pam so much
I miss Pam allready
Honey is amazing, I hope she stays for some time to come!
Pam
screaming at the users over at digital spy saying SOC isnt going to last very long. are they ever f***ing happy?
Les used to make me cringe but his awful acting kinda worked in the end. I can't really explain it tbh But I fell in love with them both by the time they left. They'll be missed.
I'm still crying over Pam
Call me slow, but why is William sad?
That ending was so random! Maybe Denny is bullying him?
Thats what I think
Kim and Dot sharing a scene for probably the first time ever! *.*
I enjoyed Kathy's scenes tonight. Definitely feels like her character of old is starting to come through again and it was good that her abandoning Ben was actually acknowledged and there was at least an attempt from Kathy to stand up for herself. It's an elephant in the room that needs to be firmly addressed before a relationship can properly form between the two, and I hope SOC can continue to develop this.
screaming at william turning to drink just because denny threw his gum at him
Characters are hated more than Sonia?
Kim's impression of Mick!
Dot and Kim's car crash!!
Dot alone in her house was heartbreaking Where are they going with this? I hope they don't make her die alone.
yaas belinda make your money*.*
Love Ronnie making the most of Matthew being with Dot. It's hard to fit everything in to 18 months.
but then we saw dot didnt have matthew.......
I'm all for the slower/more realistic pacing/stories but Tuesday's episode (the one ending with Kim and Vincent having a disagreement about her driving) was quite possibly one of the dullest EE episodes I've ever seen. Christ.
Ronnie and Roxy's exit will have multiple endings filmed: http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a811703/eastenders-spoilers-ronnie-roxy-mitchell-multiple-endings/
This show has so many amazing female characters:
Linda
Denise
Sharon
Donna
Carmel
Honey
Claudette
Belinda
Stacey
all iconic*.*
Bex is coming for her Janine moment
god Janine was just outstanding wasn't she? remember when she inherited a f*** ton of money and the duff duff was just her dancing around the square shrieking with delight?
Yas Craig you're right about the female characters, as cheesy as it was I did kinda love the whole desperate housewives style group gathering
Stacey and Honey are probably my favourites rn I like Bex as well and think the girl playing her is a good actress but deserves a better storyline than the cliché "boy problems" she's got atm
I do miss Janine tho
her name should be jaTEN tbh
that was awful im so sorry
Omg at Drunk Sharon! :') Shazza the Lezza.
We really need Janine back. I love a good soap bitch.
Eastenders is really quite terrible at the moment. I don't like the direction it's going in under the new producer. I'm all for character-driven plots and small intimate moments between characters but driving lessons and bins?? I hope this is the fluff they thought of very quickly to bridge the gap between executive producers and there's much better stuff coming.
I don't like how the new producer hasn't done interviews or given any indication of what type of show he's going to create. I'm not saying he needs to go down the DTC route of proclaiming this will be the best era of EastEnders since it started, but some hints about what he's planning might be nice.
some people asking for sue osman return.
no thanks
Expect Denise and Phil scenes closer to Christmas: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz-tv/hot-tv/555875/Eastenders-Phil-Mitchell-Denise-Fox-BBC-exclusive-pictures
Pretty sure the actress' own life was quite dramatic as well; I think she was a drug addict and her husband was murderer. No way she'd return - I think she had long given up acting and she looks absolutely nothing like what she did.
Mary the punk to come back as the head of a new family pls
I know Sharon is in the running for world's most horrific mum but Kathy really isn't one to judge.
I think it's about time Steven Beale was killed off.
Stevens acting tonight blew me away
I thought the actor did the best with what he was working with but, as I was watching, I kinda just realised I don't give a shit about his character!
I'll start giving a shit about him when he starts taking his shirt off
Did Steven just say he is taking Louis to Dots when Dot is working in the laundrette?
Bex is so far ahead of the other teens its not even funny
Bex looked so much like Lauren tonight, it was scary.
I feel EE are forgetting Louise is meant to be like 14
Living for Bex shunning modern music and spending the day listening to the KOOKS of all things.
Also love Claudette being a general boss around the square.
I burst out laughing Shakil pulled his trousers down!
At least Sonia wasn't in the episode.
I can't get used to the new duff duffs. It felt so unnatural having the episode end mid conversation.
The new duffs are still HIGHLY amusing me
Kim and her road rage! I love it! I could just watch a whole episode of her yelling at people
Bex JAMMING to Scouting For Girls tonight.
I'll admit, it's not exactly Dot rocking out to Greenday tho.
Tiffany singing Firestarter tho
I saw Claudette,
In the launderette,
When will Wordsworth?
''would it kill you to go paperless?''
queen
Did Sharon put her Halloween face on I just can't get over it
Is it necessary to remind us of Tyler Moon in 2016?
Laughable that Jack has no friends.
Trailer for next week:
Ugh what heartache can they shove on Whitney now?
Didn't Jack only just jet off on holiday with Ronnie and Amy a couple of episodes back?
Babe. Looks. Incredible.
Im allready starting to get upset at whats happening to Dot
Claudettes tits stealing the show *.*
Dot She's stealing every show atm!
Claudette's boobs really outdid themselves tonight.
When Dot said she wanted a cup of tea, I was willing Mrs Doyle to burst into the room.
It's been ages since Dot had a good storyline, why has it taken the, so long to use her appropriately again?
Gonna miss Claudette. Yet another character not quite used to her full potential and her legacy will be that bizarre Mother's Day week that had almost zero follow up.
As Dot is awful and just rambles on about her god.
Patrick scalping Claudette tho *.*
Enjoying Patrick and Claudette and the Dot love triangle!! Im assuming they will put Dot and Patrick together as a couple.
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SASS QUEEN IS BACK
Tiff... she looks more grown up
Morgans' face at Belinda boobs, he wanted to pay
They need to bring back Tiffany full time! She's grown so much though, it's kinda weird
I was wetting myself at Linda telling Lady Di she was a naughty girl
I would keep Morgan and Tiff in exchange for the brutal murder of Johnny tbh.
How long before Bianca makes another return?
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/2109785/charlie-brooks-reveals-she-wont-be-returning-to-eastenders-as-janine-butcher-anytime-soon-to-avoid-being-typecast-as-the-bh/
Charlie's trying to distance herself from Janine so it doesn't look like she'll be back
She'll be back one day I'm sure. She's probably one of the few characters who'd be able to make a successful return to the show (unlike someone like Grant who I think should be left in the past now) and I don't think has ever been spoiled by bad writing or ran out of steam (she seems to be in the show for the correct length of time before leaving).
Was nice to see Tiff and Morgan back. Tiff has obviously grown up a lot but she looked younger and more like Tiff tonight than she has done in the "omg you won't believe what Tiff from Eastenders looks like now" articles). Morgan also has really grown up, like it's hard to imagine it's just been two years since he was last in the show.
We have another brief but out-there return soon for Derek Harkinson (Who? Pauline's gay best mate. Still don't know?) http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a813070/dads-army-star-ian-lavender-returning-to-eastenders-as-derek-harkinson/
I'd definitely like to see Tiffany back full time, was a breath of fresh air in tonight's episode - although I'm not sure who her age group is. I'm assuming she's (a lot) older than Denny/William now but younger than Bex/Louise?
EDIT: Seems Denny is 10, William is 9 while Tiffany is 14, Bex is 16 (of course) and Louise is 15. I guess Tiffany could hang around with Bex and Louise, there could be a storyline where the older girls force Tiffany to do things she doesn't want to do somehow - maybe do a alternative version of Bethany's storyline in Corrie.
Anyhow yes I'd like to see Tiffany back, and deary me Johnny is the worst actor in EastEnders by FAR. He's giving Sarah Harding a run for her money.
