So Olivia Rodrigo is on course to secure a 4th week at number one this Friday, but how long do we think she'll spend at the top in total? It's clear that it will take something huge to dethrone her so will she do the unimaginable and challenge Bryan Adams' record (16 weeks), as some are predicting? Or will ACR kick in and dethrone her at the earliest opportunity?

9 weeks then an ACR-induced fall seems most likely. Unless this new Cardi B song really takes off, or Drake releases a huge instant smash soon.

I went for 7-9 weeks and then knocked off organically. At the moment Drivers License is losing around 20% per week. That drop off should reduce in the weeks to come but even so in a few weeks it won't take something that big to knock it off. That's unless she gets a boost from somewhere or stabilises very soon.
At the moment I'd say it's looking more like a Head & Heart sized hit than a Blinding Lights sized hit in the long run (even though neither of those had a six figure week like Drivers License). |

Tbh, I am not massive on the song but I am glad that it is a female getting this success rather than the random male rappers and Ed Sheeran.

The last song to spend longer at #1 was... Dance Monkey
I'm just glad it's happening to a good song |

9 weeks then an ACR-induced fall seems most likely. Unless this new Cardi B song really takes off, or Drake releases a huge instant smash soon. well it's week 7 and she's had a decline, so it looks like my initial suspicion of 9 weeks is going to be right - unless she gets some boost out of nowhere. I can't see Drake releasing in the next 2 weeks, and there's no guarantee that he'll go straight to #1 either. Her closest competition in Lil Tjay is declining faster than she is, so it's unlikely he'll overtake. The only thing that could unseat her before ACR is if another surprise instant smash gets put out. |

The only thing that could unseat her before ACR is if another surprise instant smash gets put out. Possible that Joel Corry could blow up quickly again? (That's certainly the only new release this week that has even the tiniest chance of being a contender and it'll be next week if at all). Agreeing it's most likely now that she'll get to 9 weeks then get ACRed off the top though unless there is a big release next week that we don't know about yet. 'Friday' will be the song to knock Olivia off the top and you can bookmark that God willing, no xx |

Yeah I guess if we're being objective then Joel Corry is probably the most likely contender to topple her.

At this point, too many weeks. I wasn’t fussed with it to start with but it’s really grating now.

Well we pretty much have our answer to this now, though we still need to find out whether it would have had a 10th week if not for ACR (quite likely not it seems).

Everyone who voted 7-9 weeks and No (as I did) was correct. Even without ACR, Olivia would have fallen to #4 this week!
