Olivia Rodrigo's run at #1 could extent to 8 weeks on the singles chart, while Joel Corry's new single BED with RAYE & David Guetta is expected to debut high. There's also new tracks from Pop Smoke, Post Malone, Wolf Alice, Maisie Peters and Steps/Michelle Visage

On the album chart, Digga D's mixtape Made In The Pyrex could enter at #1, while Architects are set for their highest chart placing yet with ninth album For Those That Wish to Exist. Albums from Lucy Spraggan, Maximo Park and Alice Cooper may debut in the top 10, plus there's new releases from Madison Beer, Nick Cave/Warren Ellis, Julien Baker, King Gizzard, Epica and Roosevelt

Breakdown of the week
- Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative.
- Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm. Please do not post spoilers on the forum in advance as this ruins the countdown for any listeners.
- Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm
- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.
- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.
- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)
- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).
- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.
- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. Any chart requests between No. 41 to 100 will not be answered after Monday's update.
- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

Hope Olivia gets an 8th week at no.1 - nothing else in the top 10 is anything close to it in terms of quality. Plus it’s almost guaranteed a 7th week on top of the US Billboard chart (confirmed early next week) . There hasn’t been a no.1 to manage topping both U.K. and US charts at the same time for that long since Ed Sheeran in 2017 when ‘Shape of you’ topped both charts at the same time for 10 non consecutive weeks. Doubt she’ll beat that but we’ll see.

Curious to see where Joel Corry’s new song will end up. I reckon it could debut in the top 10 and slowly creep to number 1 over the coming weeks, certainly hope so anyways. Don’t mind Olivia staying at number 1 in the meantime though as I love the song

same, think Architects have a chance to beat Digga D, as he's not doing as well as expected on streaming

not much going on in singles, Joel Corry also starting slower than I thought

I heard the OCC are taking your complaints seriously and looking to stop the genuine sales of these songs to appease you with immediate effect! Hope you can sleep easy now hun 😘

Old days brought cd single count 1 sales

Now days can listen same song each week keep add to sales

That why like old format

I too prefer the old sales format - but I guess it just doesn't work these days. Times change and the system needs to change along with it.

I see it as two very distinct eras, I don't ever compare sales from pre-streaming to those that people achieve these days. They're basically two completely different sets of rules and I treat them as such.

There's a nice underrated benefit to the system in theory though, you get to put more weight into the stuff you like more -> listen to more, instead of reading your music consumption as a hard 1 sale equally for your favourite & most middling purchases. Same principle why basically every voting game on this site has ranked points rather than just counting the number of voters per entry. I think it's profoundly interesting* to see what inspires people to continue listening to week in week out, as opposed to a fleeting few weeks interest.

*granted the content & progression of it is usually anything but
